I wish, I wish to GOD someone would ask Parcells if they use hot-read WR routes on obvious blitzes, or if Bledsoe is to check his primary first. Nearly any blitz can be beat if the QB is smart enough to know to do so.

I know we don't use audibles often, but it just seems to me that Bledsoe would be able to see the blitz and make a quick check to a hot receiver.

I was inspired by Leinart's ability to do just this Monday night.

By the way - I promised I stay out of the thread, but I just can't help it. I do want to point out that just because I want the guy benched and have no faith in him, it isn't that I am bashing him. I quite like Bledsoe, think he is a standup guy who wants to win. I even stated in another thread that when all is said and done I feel like he has had a nice career.

Just because I am finished with a player or don't think he is very good any longer, doesn't mean I am bashing him. I just see a guy who can't make the play under pressure, demands more than an NFL OL can provide and isn't capable of being a bus driver QB because too often he wants to make the big throw. I think that it is time to find a QB who can do that.

The argument I keep hearing is that we are giving up on the season if we bench Bledsoe. My argument is that I don't feel we can do what this team is capable of doing with Bledsoe. That isn't an endorsement to Romo - it's an indictment to Drew.

I will say this again on the record for the umpteenth time. I like Bledsoe. I think he is a warrior, class act, great teammate, tough and on and on. He has some excellent qualities for sure.

Kind of reminds me (but not as bad) as the situation when Eddie George was here and Julius Jones was the rookie, but not starting. How can someone not like Eddie George? Great guy. However, it was so painfully obvious that he was through that it just killed me to see him on the field. I did not want him off the field because he was a sorry dude, but I wanted him off the field because I did not feel he was the answer at RB. I knew JJ was raw, and I did not know if he was the future for sure at RB or not. However, that was a risk I was willing to run, because I knew Eddie ultimately was not the man.

That is how I feel about Bledsoe.

All well and good except that it comes when the team is 3 -2. You appear willing to turn the season over to a "maybe he'll be great" QB instead of to a guy who's gone 12 - 9 with this team. Has a real grass is greener smack to it that I think is premature.

I have no idea what Romo is. He might suck. That isn't the point. Yes - Bledsoe is 12-9 here, but like I said in the post, he hasn't really played better than 'not to beat us' yet this season. Further, I fear we are beginning to see what Buffallo fans and NE fans have always told us was a major issue with him, only worse now that he is a year older.

Bledsoe might post a winning season with us this year - no way to tell without playing him. But he has effectively lost all my confidence in him to take us all the way this year, and he has a hill to climb to get it back. At this point I can only formulate my own opinion based on what I see on the field and what I analyze that to be. I see a QB who can't make the necessary presnap read, doesn't check down and has no pocket mobility, all of which translate into sacks and turnovers.

I hope to God I am wrong.

Beast agrees......my confidence in Bledslow is about as low as it can go. In all honesty, we should have never even had a chance to tie Philly after Bledslow takes that last sack after holding the ball a freaking forever. Getting that PI was freaking luck, maybe 1 time out of 100 that happens. With that gift what does Bledslow do, throws one of the dumbest passes I have ever seen to a TE double covered in the flat. You cant play like this and expect to fans to have your back.

This is not personal for Beast, I really appreciate what Drew has done and he is the best QB we have had since Aikman. But time marches on and just like Farve, it is time for Bledslow to move on as well.

Why does everyone keep saying that the "kill, kill" slash means max protect? Just because Aikman said so in the Philly game? It is simply not true. BP said at one time last year (I can't remember when), sometimes 2 plays are called in the huddle, a primary and a secondary play. If DB comes up and wants to switch off to the 2nd play based on the defense, he gives the signal. DB gave the signal once this past weekend and they ran the ball.

Run the ball or stay in to max protect both plays are designed to keep the heat off of Bledsoe.

Come on everyone quit believing your lying eyes. Bledsoe is the best QB in the world. Every interception he throws is not his fault. Everytime he pats the ball until he is sacked it is not his fault. Everytime he underthrows or overthrows a receiver it is not his fault. Bledsoe hasn't made a single mistake in his career, it is always somebody elses fault. As a matter of fact, I think they should wave the 5 year wait rule for the hall of fame and enshrine the great Drew Bledsoe the very second he retires!!! :laugh2: :laugh2:

There has got to be a way to get him in before retirement. I think they should create a Bledsoe revision to their policies to get him in while he's still playing. The guy is that good.

i usually dont laugh out load this l8 but that almost made me spit soda. lol to the original post i am torn. i believe we all need to quit peein and moanin about bleslow (mods yelled at me 4 language so that sounded dumb lol) but i am 4 romo starting 2. i like what he brings from what ive seen. ive seen what bleslow brings and dont get me wrong. it aint all bad by any means. im bias tho. i was for favre retirering 2. dont like older qbs that are gunslingers. sorry

And for the record I really can't recall fans falling in love with Henson...we just couldnt take vinny anymore.

Actually I would have like to see Romo in that Thanksgiving game instead of henson.

Deadslow is not the answer and BP is playing him now because that's his boy and he is the veteran. He stayed with Vinny and he will stay with Drew.

The problem with Bledsoe is, he's not special. Not a playmaker, so to speak. Us long time Cowboy fans are used to playmaking QBs, and Bledsoe is not that.

After watching Romo, he has the ability to be a playmaker from what we've all seen. We wanted Henson to be something, we just wanted to see what he could do, and that's why we wanted him out there. Vinny was -NOt a playmaker. Even Aikman in his final years drove me insane including Emmitt, and I love those guys.

If Romo is not a playmaker, we need to know now so we don't waste anymore freaking time and draft a Playmaking Quarterback.
