The diff between aikman tho is he has been a cowboy 4 life. I still think of TO and Bledsoe as hired guns. RW JuJo Ware and that group i hope will be cowboys 4 life. We didnt stomp on aikman like bledslow because of that fact

I doubt that will happen. The denial is deeply rooted. I hope we win this game because at the core I am a Cowboys fan period. However, I am far beyond being supportive of DB. I've seen enough of his act to last me for the rest of my life. Leaf... QC... Vinny... Bledsoe... God, when will this hangover go away?

DeepBleu, I personally like Drew Bledsoe, tough cookie, good attitude, professional and all that but that doesn't make an effective quarterback against good teams. If we had an outstanding line, he probably would perform better. But then average quarterbacks can play lights out when they have exceptional protection.

You can't discount the positive aspects of Bledsoe's playing history and that he can still be a dangerous passer. However you have to accept that he is an aging quarterback who will seriously struggle against balanced teams that aggressive defenses and potent offenses. When Drew gets slobberknocked and we have to come from behind he seems to press and make horrific decisions.

Our agenda is to be a playoff calibre team and hopefully get to and win the Superbowl in the near future. Combine Drew's age and increasing deficiency and this is not a credible goal to achieve.

I only discuss his performance......if it deserves praise....he will get it.....Bashing? Yes, only if he deserves it.

No.

Until we get someone I respect and want playing QB for this team, I will not. And it's simple, I simply want someone with a heartbeat. And for the first time in ages, we have someone exactly fitting that bill sitting right behind this moron. I can not, I will not, settle for this second rate nobody any longer and that's all there is too it. He's had his day 14 years in a row...done nothing with a singular one of them. Oh yea, suddenly BrickMan is good enough for us, the Dallas Cowboys. When did our standards swoop so low? That's what I'd like to know.

Let's put it this way, Romo may be a nobody at the moment but at least he still has a chance to be a somebody. Bledsoe has had his chances over and over throughout his career and done absolutely nothing with any of them. And I'll ask the question again....Now he's a Dallas Cowboy?

You are a man of few words but so few words have summed it up better.

I realize that I'm an Eagles fan, but the concept of bashing Ones own quarterback is intriguing. The Eagles bashed McNabb as early as the draft. And when he plays poorly they boo him. It's almost accepted practice to blame the quarterback when things go wrong, and give him credit when he wins games.

Specifically, Bledsoe deserves no bashing. It may be surprising for you to believe that I think Bledsoe has more experience and quality in his Little finger than Romo does. Talent relies on opportunity to display it. Before anyone (from any fandom) starts bashing their own QB ...they should first take a look at that QBs surrounding cast.

Rules for bashing a player on your own team:

1) If the player is provided adequate to good protection/blocks, and they are still throwing picks or turning over/dropping ball ...

2) ...If the player does not have the respect of his offense/defense ...

3) ...If the player disrespects the team or disrupts the lockerroom banter/rythmn/gel

4) ...If the player is a cancer to the team and coaching staff

But these are usually egregious behaviors that do not normally exist. Otherwise the strength of the team is measured by it's weakest link.

Bledsoe is not a weak link by any means.

If it means that I am Ward Cleaver because I think that you can show some respect and still make your point then so be it. I for one do not see a message board as a place to wage war, perhaps you are right and I should find a more mature venue for discussing my team. I just can't see the point of the elementary level of arguing that takes place in the majority of the threads. It gets tiring and repetitive.

there is my lurker friend:) ...How have ya been Jon

?? I assume this is Bill Parcells posting.

Parcells knows that benching Bledsoe means writing off the season. I don't think that will happen until the season is officially dead.

Parcells know that benching Bledsoe is saving the season...so I don't think that will happen until it officially needs saving

I understand that every fan has an opinion, but this is just getting ridiculous. We have a 3-2 record and could very well be in the drivers seat in the NFC Beast after the next 3 weeks.....And of all the things to derive promise or hope from, more than half of the fan base is waiting for Bledsoe to get the hook, so we can mortgage the season with a virtual unkown in Tony Romo? Yes the same guy that nobody cared about when the other 'savior' Drew Henson was on the roster. I'm sick and tired about hearing about how 'mobile' Romo is...big deal so without any blocking up front either he can buy an extra second to still get sacked or make a game killing play?

Some of you 'fans' are so Naive and gullible. It makes me laugh to know that if Tony Romo didn't have such extensive playing time in the pre season than there wouldn't even be an argument going on right now. But everyone saw him do these "amazing" things against no pass rush, vanilla defenses, and scrubs that are now pumping gas and flipping burgers and this becomes enough to crown him our savior. Ironically this is basically from the same group of fans that rode Henson's Jock straight to the unemployment line. Newsflash: Remember Danny Wuerfel, his numbers were astronomical and he was a bigger preseason legend than Romo....where is he now I ask?

Why does it seem that cowboy fans are so out of touch with the reality of the NFL. There are some very intelligent fans on this board but its pathetic to see a once-proud cowboy nation get excited in thier pants everytime this team acquires a quarterback via trade or draft. From guys like Anthony Wright Clint Stoernor and Chad Hutchinson to the era of Drew Henson Tony Romo and Jeff Mroz, u almost always see a post with some "hopeful" cowboy fan talking about how special these guys can be, and comparing em to the likes of Kurt Warner Jake Delhomme and Trent Green, trying to convince themselves that the common every day undrafted free agent has what it takes to be the next "guy outta nowhere"....anything to get rid of 'the most overrated QB of all time' despite his gaudy resume and HOF numbers.

Just before pre season there was talk about how great the boys would be this year, and how Well Bledsoe Will play. Some of you guys predicted 30+ TDs, others said 3,800 yards, and now after 2 poor outtings against pass rushes that our O line simply couldn't block ( i'm no rocket scientist, but maybe that was the reason he got sacked) you guys are ready to send him to the pine because unlike last season, you've watched the back up QB play.

So to all you cowboys fans that are blowing this entire situation out of proportion, and are being too stubborn or too lazy to realize that the issues with this team lie far beyond the Quarterback position, i say to you legions of mindless cowboys fans OH WELL. IF BP wants to make a change he will, and if he doesn't want to then u guys gotta deal with it and stop wasting your time posting in "bench bledsoe" threads. Parcells is one of the greatest coaching minds in any professional sport and if he thought Tony Romo could walk on water than believe Bledsoe would be history by now. Please realize how greatful we are to have a capable veteran like Bledsoe and just let the Romo hype die....next year I'm all for an 'open' competition in camp and seeing who emerges as the better man, but 2006 is Bledsoe's show.

:starspin :starspin :starspin

Thanks for participating Mr. Bledsoe

He (Bledsoe) has not had a dominating game all season.

Not true! He looked real good in that one preseason game.

The best I can say about his play is good enough not to beat us.

And that isn't good enough against avg or better teams.

Fair enough Mick. I just don't see that picture as "love." I've had sigs of Q too and I'm told I hated the guy.

It's really just a picture. Nothing more. I'm asking because that pic was most decidely mine as Charles can never stop pointing out. I didn't make it. JDNalls (I miss him around here) found it and I asked if I could use it. It never ceases to amaze me that 2 1/2 years later people still bring it up.

I don't get it.

For real?

The one I saw was a guy on Silverstar Digest (delete this if I am not suppose to mention another board).

But I didnt know you had one too and Charles gives you he77 about it :p: .

He probably stole it from me after I stole it off the Net.

Mine was Aikman in the white uniforms with Henson in his Michigan uniform in the same pose and superimposed over each other. It was a cool photoshop by whomever did it.

For whatever reason it offended Charles and he can't let it go. To repeat his tired mantra "before the guy broke wind at Valley Ranch he was being annointed the next Aikman."

Forget that we as fans do that about every rookie and express belief/hope that they will be huge for us, for some reason my hope in Henson was offensive.

I'd be offended if I could get past the bewilderment. That's never going to happen.

So the one you had didnt have Henson and Aikman next to each other? The one I saw had Aikman on one side and Henson on the other (in a Wolverine Jersey) and it said something like "The Future is Now" or something like that :p: .

Gawd I wish I could find it.
