Arm strength is questionable at all times. Doesn't make sense for the scheme intended. To get doughnuts and bring coffee for that salary.....he should be happy. I would. Seriously, don't see it.....but if Cassel goes down.....we will.

Ehh, I still have some confidence in Cassel. Thought he put us in a place where we could win a couple games. I think he'll at least keep it closer and give us a chance to win.

I really hope so.

The problem with this team is not the QB, it's the unimaginative scheme and lack of playmakers other than Dez. I swear any one of us could do a better job coordinating this offense: some quick slants, some bunch sets with crossing routes, more screens because tyron and lael are two of the most athletic OL duos in the league, some lead draws like in the emmitt/moose days, and playaction off them, just to keep the LBs guessing. And when was the last time we saw a trick play?

After the Skins put a boot in our arse next week, I say give the kid a shot.

At that point we will be 3 games back with 4 to play, virtually no chance.......... so putting a project QB out there wont look like an obvious tank.

Jimmy Johnson said after the game, cowboys are done, its over and they should play moore and see what he can do.
Let moore play the remaining games and see if he is worth keeping , and or is a good bkup.

I agree, if they keep playing cassel I may not even watch the games.
It is like watching keystone cops on offense.
Of course as long as JG is coach, The JGL offense is getting hard to watch and understand.

Had they stuck with the run they could have won todays game, and I think had they played moore they could have done better passing,
and won the game.
To me this loss is on JGL and other coaches, and on jones boys.

Here’s the conventional wisdom you’re bound to hear in the coming days, as the Cowboys begin their preparations for Washington.

Inexplicably, the 3-8 Cowboys are technically still alive in the NFC East – largely thanks to the mediocrity of the division as a whole. The Commanders currently lead the division standings at just 5-6, having defeated the Giants – now also 5-6. The Eagles, now 4-7 after getting thrashed by Detroit, are in a freefall almost as bad as the Cowboys.

Taking all of this into account, the common logic says the Cowboys need to play their experienced starting quarterback, Matt Cassel, to hold the reins in place ofTony Romo. Cassel has 11 years of NFL experience, he led this Dallas offense for a month during Romo’s first injury and he has been a part of playoff races before.

Wonder if they are warming the fans up to the idea of Him getting starting time after we are officially mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

If it were Mickey doing the article I would say it is going to happen but we will see.

It makes my brain hurt to think we'll roll Cassel out there again next week. If Moore has a pulse, he'll be better than Cassel was today. So, that whole "we're still in this thing so let's stick with who gives us the best chance to win" is a total crock even if you buy that the season isn't over (it is).

Cassel has pretty good pocket presence and decent mobility and that's it. He's woefully inaccurate and doesn't throw the ball well and his anticipation is horrendous. I'm all for Moore getting a chance.

I can't see him as a scheme fit at all.

He's got a noodle arm. Like a left handed Ken Dorsey.

Everything we do is so long, drawn out, and downfield.

yep but he is accurate, maybe we can keep some drive going.

Cassel is pretty bad. He side arms all this throws and aiming instead of throwing which make him inaccurate. He is what he is. Old dog that can't learn new tricks. I won't even bother resigning him.

Time to give the kid a chance. No point in talking about playoffs. It's time to find out who can and who can't play on this roster.

I think Cassel gives us a better chance to win than Moore...and I give Cassel little, to no chance...so, put Moore in, and help that draft pick out...if he plays well, perhaps we find a competent back up, if not, perhaps we get a better first round pick than 5th (currently, we moved up one today)...

I honestly believe Cassel's struggles aren't really his. I believe its the offense and the lack of chemistry with teammates. But that being said, I think its time to see what Moore has. There are two benefits to playing terrible football down the stretch. One, you get to be able to play for next season and see what positions you need to upgrade to. The other one is you get a great draft pick. Salvage this season and start playing for next year and see what you need to upgrade. I'm so confused about Moore. I know absolutely nothing about him. I think Cassel is good enough to be a backup in this league. Something needs to happen with this offense though. I'm watching other teams with quarterbacks on the same level have success. Somethings not quite right.

He also doesn't even see Dez (yes, Dez had the worst game I've ever seen him play today) when Dez is open.

I think we are seeing that 'winning in the trenches' just doesn't automatically equate to winning games and it's far from it. The D-Line could have done a better job on Lacy, but the O-Line was most excellent today and the D-Line did a nice job on Rodgers. And we didn't even come close to winning because we have no secondary and no passing game. Cassel had all day to throw and just wasn't even close.

The more I watch this Offense, the more I think it's not just the QB.

Play calling
Execution
Dropping balls
Scheme

He can change the play if he wants to. He's a vet.
He is part of the problem in execution.
Ok, he can't help with the drops. Dez....you are embarrassing us.
Scheme. Some of it. But when you throw (wait......attempts) a 5 yard out when it's 4th and 17....it's all you.

Dez also needs to sit next to Cassel on the bench

how is Cassell in this league so far? he has so much time to throw but has extreme tunnel vision,Romo would have killed in this game.

He had 1 good season on a team that had the greatest slot WR to have ever played in the game, in his prime as well as having arguably the best deep threat WR in the past 20 years on the same team. He also played in the worst division in football for the past 15 years.

Coaches love to live off a player's past success that happened 8 years ago and him being a guy with 'experience' instead of actually taking time to develop new talent and holding a player accountable for sucking.
