Point: Kellen Moore Deserves Chance To Answer Questions About QB Spot

The problem with this team is not the QB, it's the unimaginative scheme and lack of playmakers other than Dez. I swear any one of us could do a better job coordinating this offense: some quick slants, some bunch sets with crossing routes, more screens because tyron and lael are two of the most athletic OL duos in the league, some lead draws like in the emmitt/moose days, and playaction off them, just to keep the LBs guessing. And when was the last time we saw a trick play?

The QB is a big part of the problem as well. Not sure what is going on with Cassel, but he stares down every receiver he goes to these days, but there are other problems as well...

Romo going down proves what we were all afraid of... he IS/WAS this offense...

Given the reality of the situation this team is in, I just have to laugh that this is at the top of the board for discussion.

I will just blame it on Floaty.

Have to talk about something, I suppose.

If Cassel plays the rest of the games he will earn $2M bonus for meeting a certain percentage of the offensive snaps. Why pay him an extra $2M for that minuscule production? Especially when the $2M will count on next year's cap when Cassel won't even be here. Put Moore in and see what he can do. I assure you that he can do no worse. Or just go all wildcat with RBs taking direct snaps.

Brandon Weeden was the best Cowboys QB this season. He had a 92 QBR, whereas Romo was only at 79, and Cassel is worse. Weeden also led the team in yards per completion, and all this with no running game and no Dez Bryant.

What's the worst that Moore can do? Lose? Lead a pitiful passing attack?

That's already happening with Cassel. Worst case we get a top 5 pick anyway, best case we have a future viable backup.

I see very little downside to playing Moore at this point.

exactly, I have seen all I need to see of cassel.
I want to see moore, and it would make the games more interesting.
They could always go back to cassel the next game if moore is really bad, but I would play him last 3 games.

It serves no purpose to keep playing cassel

Maybe after Saturday and another possible loss they will test for the future. Personally I think being 2 games behind has them thinking unicorns and rainbows are possible. I have yet to give up hope on seeing another few good games and maybe even another 2 wins, but playoff thoughts are far from my mind. We are not worthy of such with this record and personally I don't see enough wins to be optimistic. What would be cool is to see what we have for the future but the FO will not let the playoffs rest until we are finished mathematically. Maybe more will be settled next week. rather we put up or shut up, who knows, but the vets do have a lot to prove this coming Saturday. Either win or lose we have something to play for, rather better draft pick or just a redemption to a poor outing this week. Hell maybe even a show of life for the run the FO still think we have. Either way it should keep us in our seats and still watching the outcome. Happy viewing all.

He was also a check down machine. Absolutely horrid

I am for it let the see id the kid can play good enuf to be back up

Where's all this talk of Moore having a weak arm coming from?

That was a bomb. There are quite a few other videos on youtube showing him throwing some long bombs and medium throws with some zip.

Throw me into the Kellen Moore camp. It's time to see what we have in him, if anything. Even if he sucks, at least you'll know that it's time to move on. Playing Cassel is completely useless at this point.

Weeden stats came from check downs. Weeden was too inconsistent. I watch him miss wide open players and was gun shy. Casell is better in my book but his play is average at best.

Cassel is a QB thats needs confidence and trust....he needs time to understand the system he is in and learn to trust his WRs.....We have to remember he was thrown into the mess of a team at Mid Season.....had no off season or training camp to learn the offense or gain in chemistry with the WRs....Then you have TWIL jacking up routs and plays a few games ago for INTs.....now he tries to get Dez involved and Dez flat out lays an egg....his confidence is shot....and thats what happens to QB you trade for mid season...its a complicated proces and to expect a guy to walk in and run the system to a high level is a bit of extreme thinking

So the Cowboys have an another QB that is still learning the offense and trying to trust his WRs but getting burned in the process.
Cant blame the QB,,,, he may not be the best but he got thrown into this mess.....not by choice but a forced trade......this proves the offensive process is broken .....and the coaches scheme is out dated

Cassel is what he is. A NFL QB that has bounced around the league after catching lightening in a bottle in NE.
I'm in no way defending Cassel. But everytime we complete a pass, our guys are blanketed by 3 defenders immediately.

I cannot comment on previous games because I only see what the TV is showing me, but I was at yesterdays game and we had receivers open quite regularly. Almost without fail, Cassel threw to the covered receiver. The 3rd and longs he zeroed in on Witten almost everytime with other receivers being much better options.

Is the scheme bad....probably, is the QB bad.......100% yes.

No harm in giving him a shot. I believe Cassell will be here next season, and is a solid back up. We need a future starter though, and Cassell is not that. Let's see if Moore has it, or not. It will let us know if we go after a QB within the first two rounds of the draft.

i'm anxious to see this out of him - when can he start?
