Another reason why I doubt the truthfulness of accuser. This happened close to Dak's rookie year. I'm sure a lot of these athletes have to learn the hard way not to trust anyone. Must suck. They can't even do a one night stand like us and never thing about it again. Everything is fair game. If I were a $200million+ pro athlete, I'd be tempted to have a consensual agreement for every woman to sign on my night stand. LOL
That's what Derek Jeter did. Contract and signed baseball on the nightstand

Fair point. Either this girl has a major piece of evidence to demand that much cash or her lawyer is hoping to show a position of strength to get Dak's team to counter with a $5-10M counter offer to make everything go away.
That's what I don't think folks understand. It's a different world for these people and their money and fame. Not taking anything away from women and how we should seriously deal with these types of accusations but it is a completely different world for these people than our world.

$5 million is chump change for a veteran NFL QB, and it might be worth more than dealing with all the negative publicity, time spent, distraction from games, etc... There are already going to be people who see this headline and give it the same weight as a real rape case, which it isn't, so an athlete like Dak who makes so much from advertising is in trouble regardless. Her lawyer knows all this and are banking on it. Just that they had sex in the car is enough for the lawyer to play with. It's either very brave or very stupid of Dak to counter-sue because it just gets more attention, even if he is innocent.

100%.. non-disclosure agreements, the whole 9 yards. If you are the starting QB of the Dallas Cowboys, you are getting a lot of options. Dak was a kid in 2017. I know I was a total moron when I was 22-23. There is only one goal when you are a 22-23 partying male. Anyone that doesn't agree is probably an incel now.

It always amazes me how she’s assumed to be the liar to some. She is called a gold digger because Dak is just such a nice guy, it’s sad that she may be the victim of a rape and some couldn’t care less “because she asked for it “ mentality and I know some here don’t care if he did in fact rape her. And people wonder why women don’t come forward especially when high profile men are involved. Let’s wait and see the evidence and the outcome before publicly condemning her in the court of public opinion.
It also amazes how the man is assumed to be guilty by most

What Dak should worry about is if Goddell sends this woman to New York to meet the league investigation team.
Goddell does as he pleases. Look back to Zeke's case. That investigator (Giants fan) claim that the accuser was not creditable and Goddell still lowered the boom.

bad Zeke...timeout for you...now go stand in the corner

"Eat that Jerry" love Mr GODdell

There is another option, which is we simply don’t have to care about either of them as far as investing cycles in it.

I don’t like Dak, but this is silly and he deserves the benefit of the doubt and I don’t buy these excuses either.

First of all, Dak was not really high-profile, especially in 2017, when the Zeke drama was going on. It would have favored her to come out at that time. Second, reporting it early is the smartest thing to too, because not only can she pursue criminal charges, but civil charges and she wouldn’t be any question to her motives. Third, the culture of groupies around athletes is well-known secret, including women trying to get pregnant for a pay-day. Fourth, the reality also is, memory over the years changes. It’s possible that the “victim” has convinced herself to believe after all these years she was raped.

This is more like TMZ gossip to me and a waste of time talking about. Guys need to chill on Dak in this matter, unless there is some major boom that comes out.

Irvin’s issue to me was clearly different as the lady took immediate action, along with the hotel and Irvin wasn’t allowed to work the SB. It was Irvin who tried to sue Mariott and drag her through the mud.

Well the issue isn't partying at a strip club. It's alleged assault. That's not kosher even when we were young.

I keep hearing the opposite with the DFW area. If anything the woman and her lawyer could be in hot water. Think about it. A lawyer sent a star player a letter saying they want a $100 million dollars or else. In this climate of extortion around the country. I could see the judge going hard after the lady.
Good point. Not going to law enforcement immediately to report a crime is questionable at best. An investigation is much more difficult years later than right after, obviously.

I think it’s weird that Dak went from having no idea who she was to saying it was consensual.

Thats not a good look to change your story like that.
I haven’t looked into it enough to see, but if you notice, the only one saying (in that article) that Dak admitted he had consensual sex, is the lawyer for the plaintiff. And the original article 4 days ago, I believe Dak’s lawyer only said he had no ‘non-consensual‘ sex with anyone. Telling you, this is hard on anyone, a lot of pressure to go with being an NFL quarterback, this could seriously have affected his game. He has a new woman and a kid on the way and he has to go tell her about his past indiscretions, I’m sure that’s going smooth. And this is another reason why he won’t take a pay cut, because only high profile athletes have to deal with this stuff. It’s not just playoff production he’s thinking about. I’m sure he’s thinking about all those media grilling sessions, no normal dating life with scavengers everywhere, and that dude, @MountaineerCowboy who always gives him such a hard time on these message boards. ;)

Here's the thing with this, the damages claim is pretty outrageous making this seem like a set up. I have a friend who is an attorney and has represented some sexual assault victims. He said it's not uncommon for someone who was assaulted to sit on it for years. The trauma from events like that, people just don't understand that that can do a person and some are really good at stuffing it away until something or some event in their lives happens and triggers it again. So he tends to take all allegations of assault seriously.

But he said the $100MM claim and the whole, pay us and we'll shut up, raises his antenna.

I know many women who have told me sad stories of assaults they never revealed. The numbers from centers that help women deal with this are like 1 in 4 women have experienced sexual assault, or attempted assault. That's pretty scary. This is why my daughters are locked up with handguns in their purses. Assuming it's true, that means what... assuming there are some serial cases... 1 in 6 men have attempted to do it? Sad, sad, stuff.

But my non-legal expert point of view still agrees with your friend, it does look suspicious on her part.

Why would Dak have to assault or force himself on anyone? He probably had like 20 to choose from, like every other young NFL player that night would. Believe all women?? Why did it take 7 years for her to say something? Garbage...

I want to believe her. Bless her heart. Apparently, Dak has a Jekyll and Hyde personality. Years later this is a near-impossible thing to prove to the satisfaction of a jury but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Probably another Gold digger but we won't know till the matter has been investigated by the authorities.
What the authorities end up detering wont prove much. This is clearly going to be a he said she said. The only thing that would sway my opinion one way or the other is some texts between him and her after the date this supposed assault took place. Typically there are texts. But, its been 7 years. Will those be able to be located? Possibly.
