Right, except your theory doesn’t add up when you look at backs like Henry and Chubb. Are you telling me Zeke was physically spent already during his second year?
No, I don't think he was after the first year, but I do think his carries caught up with him over time. Henry, is an incredible physical specimen. Chubb I can't really comment on because I don't watch Browns games but doesn't he have a capable backup in hunt that takes a good amount of carries? I could be wrong though.

Tony Pollard can't be a lead running back in the NFL.

By his own admission. He tapped out after 15 carries.

Good news is that this might make him a lot cheaper to re-sign.
Personally I don’t think “ the guy” types are best for winning football games. The titans have one of those types but in general I like a two back rotation with a pounder and a speed guy. But you have who you have and if you are the Titans you go that way. Whether pollard can be the guy or not doesn’t matter to me. He can and is the best playmaker so he needs the ball in his hands. That doesn’t mean pounding him into the line 20 times a game. I like the 50/50 split but I would like to see pollard used more in the passing game. A playmaker just needs the ball in his hands and it doesn’t matter if it’s handed to him or thrown to him. I think he and Zeke are better splitting the carries and in a perfect world they’d get about 12-14 each a game
Can’t always do that but that would be my goal going in

You mean the cherry picked stats for their agenda.

when ppl are referring to the aggregate I think it’s inappropriate to say that’s cherry picked. I’m not trying to start anything, I really just am baffled. Anyway Stephen gonna make sure no matter what so let’s go

Not sure what you are asking me. I ionly note it was an odd thing...to see a running back have ZERO pass blocking. It's not the indictment you are trying so desperartely to make it.

The hate for zeke....blows my mind.
Oh sorry, I meant that as the general “you” - not my thing to go at ppl. I’m not desperately trying to do anything, it’s the internet, ppl need to chill.

Still not sure what your objection was. I noted Tony Pollard had NO pass play blocking assignments against the bears.

You said something like...."why do you assume a back needs more than that".

Oh well....whatever. {shrug}....is that chill enough for ya?

By the way....if you object this hard to people supporting zeke as a Dallas Cowboy...maybe you should take your own advice and...chill. Try to cheer Zeke on as best as you can manage. When he does well the Dallas Cowboys do well.

And not one pass blocking assignment.

That wont; work against better teams.

"why do you insist that one bank needs more than that? Imagine a 2nd back that didn’t go down on the first hit almost every time. That costs way less, is not a historically poor passing option, etc. the love for zeke just blows my mind."

Lets just see what happens. He might be content in his role here. If Elliot restructures and saves us enough to pay Pollard. We need to be saving. Gonna have big contracts down the road..

No, they're both halfbacks whose main purpose is to the run ball for as many yards as possible. One gives you a better chance to do that over the other.
There is quite simply a ton more to it than that. That's why RB's like Barry Sanders, who ran for more yards per game, wasn't as effective as Emmit Smith, who moved the chains and got the tough yards. Invaribly, it's the tough yards RB's who are in the super bowl. Blount, who didn't do anything except pick up the tough yards, won a pile of super bowls, 5 or so I think.

20+ RBs in football with 100+ carries.

Zeke is one of 2 with less than 10 10+ yard carries.

Ohhh…****** that’s on me, I replied to the wrong thread. I was referencing one someone said something like pollard can’t handle more than 20 carries and my intent was to say “fine, let’s say he can only handle 10 touches, why does any back need more touches than that and why does zeke deserve those other touches.

my apologies for the confusion

These Zeke don’t like actual numbers. They just like to talk about their feelings and notions of “bell cows…tough yards…”

And you’re talking out your arse.

Broaddus and Eatman both mentioned Kellen Moore positively noting in the post game presser two specific pass blocks Pollard was involved in during the Bears game.
