Y'all are crazy. I'm surprised there is so much pushback in here for a one year tag. He is our most dynamic player on offense. You don't get rid of a great player bc of money allocated in another player (Zeke). You get rid of the washed player. Again, its only a one year commitment. Much more deserving than Schultz's tag.
Zeke will be here

really a terrible timing / no-mans land situation to be in. would hate to lose pollard, but the money could be put to use plenty of ways to shore up the roster. Also even though it should be a fairly easy injury to recover from, it does add an extra level of uncertainty. I don't know that the team has the stomach to move on from zeke, especially if he agrees to a pay cut, and I think bringing them both back is a terrible proposition. With that said, running the risk of bringing zeke back with no pollard and knowing we'd need to draft an rb puts us in a bad position of chasing a need which is when we're at our worst in the draft. I also hate the thought of having no rb lol.

So, the Cowboys are tying up big bucks at the running back position next season on a couple of guys that at this point show very little promise. One has long ago hit the "running back wall" and is a shell of his once all pro self. The second sustained a very serious leg injury in his last game and will probably limp thru much of the upcoming season. He too will not be his old pro bowler self until 2024, if ever. SMH at Cowboy management.

This team really needs a hammer to allow him to explode. When teams played the run Elliot was important to those 1st quarter 2 and 3 yard gains. Then Pollard had that change of pace speed through the hole that got him 5 yards through before he had to break a tackle. Maybe draft one. Don’t get me wrong Pollard runs good between the tackles but when they are softened up some it’s even better. And him being worn out after 15 carrys is not good.
Lmao! Here we go again. Zeke averages one blade of grass per carry. That aint helping out nobody.

If he doesn’t sign it right away like Schultz, who couldn’t get to it fast enough, the team could always pull the tag if they draft one or two, especially if it’s high.

I expect him to sign it right away, but fine because I’d rather pay him a little more than lose him now or commit long term.

It also seems as if folks are treating his injury like a blown up knee. He may miss mini camp, but is reportedly on track to be 100% for August.

The smart move would have been to extend him years ago to a deal taking him through the 2024 season, but they already had way too much tied up in you know who…so wasn’t possible.

One mistake breeds the next.

I was sure of this move before his injury but his broken leg gave me pause.

Don’t want to lose TP but paying a hobbled running back 11 million next season is probably dumb.
Its not an achilles tendon tear or ACL and the break not gonna even require screws , it's expected to actually heal on it's own.

.. but people act like it was like Dak's horrific ankle..

They refuse to come off a false narrative, and just talk out their arse.

If Pollard is tagged by March, (as expected) ..and Elliott is still on the roster - per pay cut and Jones bias plan, i don't think we will not be looking at any RB
in the early rounds.

McClay's group could even decide to do the 4th round possible Pollard type gem in the mid round . or not even draft a RB despite a supposedly deep RB draft class.

wash, rinse, repeat. Next verse, same as the last...
Yep. Looks like pollard and Zeke returning next season.

Zeke would be stupid to not take a massive pay cut. Even if he makes 5-7 million here he won’t sniff that on the open market

and we wonder why the fans always doubt this team. Its because of stuff like this that we do over the last 27 years. We have every right to ask questions and have massive doubt.

another year, and we still think WE are the smartest front office, sans the results to back it up.

Pretty much par for the course around here isn't it? You would hope they would have learned something from Gallup. Maybe even signing Josh Jacobs instead might be a little cheaper

So Zeke had 2 years remaining on his deal and forced a holdout until Jerry caved and overpaid him....only to see Zeke do what most Cowboys do after a large contract and become a turd.

Pollard busts his butt and gets a bad injury....and he is rewarded with a franchise tag thereby limiting his offers.

This organization sure does screw the worthy players while paying the turds.
To be fair…

Jerry made out on Zekes first contract.

Zeke on the second.

Both won.

Get ready for the **** fest. They will say crap no matter what they do. If they don't sign somebody they are cheap. If they do sign somebody they are stupid. They spent too much or they are cheap. 28 years, 28 years, 28 years.
After what Jerry and his son have said over the past week. The fact you can still straight faced defend them is laughable in itself. Keep stacking those regular season wins.
