Possible 10-15 years of .500 football when Dak's gone

That’s all some of you care about. Nothing worse than sitting through a bad season with nothing to look forward to but a high draft that isn’t going to guarantee a great player. There’s teams that pick high every year and never improve. It’s pretty sad how many fans will be pulling for losses this upcoming season.

There seem to mainly be two camps.

One is those who believe the QB (or QBs, since you could include Romo) were good enough to win Super Bowls with if the front office would complete the job of building a team around them instead of just going part way (and that includes hiring competent coaches).

The other camp is those who believe that we cannot win this quarterback (just like with Romo) no matter what talent we put around him.

My belief is that the evidence shows that we cannot win a Super Bowl with this front office (without Jimmy Johnson or the team he built), no matter who we have at quarterback because this front office doesn't know how to build a team without Johnson leading the way. My evidence for that is the past 30 years when we've had mutliple QBs, including one that had won Super Bowls.

Theres a third camp.
If we give a new qb everything the dak camp wants HIM to have, we probably win as much and certainly no worse in the playoffs. The dak camp claims we could never win with another qb...totally bizarre.
I think dak SHOULD get a run stopping defense and a run game. I think coop should get that, and lance. And parsons. Or a drafted qb. To think we only win with dak in that scenario....bizarre.

I’m laughing at how many times Cooper Rush’s name keeps coming up. Any fan who seriously thinks we would have won 12 games with Rush and made a deep playoff run and even reached the SB in 2022 is living in the twilight zone.

QB’s don’t grow on trees. No matter what you think of Dak, he‘s not the reason for not having much playoff success. He was 2nd in NFL MVP race for a reason. He’s that good. Once he’s gone, it could possibly be years before they break .500. This is no Chicago Bears defense in the making not with massive holes at DT and LB. Mahomes and Brady are generational type players. Picking a QB in the draft is a 50/50 crap shoot AT BEST. So many 1st round busts at that position. Casual fans don’t understand that and want Dak gone NOW. But ask them who’s going to be the QB? They think anyone they draft will be the answer right away. Not likely to happen.

I hope Dak gets extended because I know he gives the team the best chance of winning the Super Bowl. I just hope it’s a team friendly extension. Fix the running game and get a defense that can stop the run and he can easily lead this team to the Super Bowl.

If you had merely argued losing Dak could hurt chance the next few years, I wouldn't have argued. That's not an unreasonable opinion, although a different opinion might not be unreasonable either.

But to say it could cost the team 10-15 years where they can't break .500 is pretty ridiculous. I agree it's not a simple task to replace a guy like Dak, but neither is it such a daunting task it would take 10-15 years to do. Losing Dak wouldn't necessitate 10-15 years of Mark Sanchez level play.

I really do think that Dak can win a SB if the defense would stop the run and if Dak had some help at running back. Sometimes I get all caught up in the negative stuff about Dak, but, IMO, he is a great QB and if he does get extended like I hope he does, he can win a SB.

Try naming a QB that will lead this dysfunctional
organization on a deep playoff run or a SB. I got news for you, Dak is about as good as we’re likely to get at QB for a long time. You might have a lot more to complain about with our next QB. We may have to go through several to find another real good one.

I don't think its even a roster personnel issue. Its about coaching and discipline. For whatever reason, Jerry seems to have huge disdain for coaching and discipline and it always comes back to bite him.

I get that it’s led to a 1-2 record but he doesn’t quit like our defense. You won’t enjoy complaining about a QB that can’t even lead us to the playoffs. We’re not going to get far with any QB with no running game, a defense that gets steamrolled by good teams and leading the league in penalties. Good luck coming up with a QB that can overcome all that.

How much of his stats are against backups? He quits before the defense quits and then tries to play hero ball against scrubs leading to those lame stats. Stats don't mean crap if you can't win in the playoffs. Give me Minshew/Mccoy/brissett and even dobbs.

He only played against backups for a short time against GB. He was caving them up so bad they had to put their starters back in. Our defense quit on the first series. Try opening your eyes! We aren’t going to win anything with this defense. Even in our playoff win against Tampa, Brady put up over 350 yards and two TDs. The story of that game was Dak’s great performance.
