Hes getting what he deserves? HE gets out of prison in what ever span it lasts. tops two years, and he come back to his millions and he will be back in the league if he chooses. whoop DEE doo

He is getting the punishment that goes with the crime. At least from what I have read and heard he is getting what anyone else would have recieved. As for the NFL I don't know what will happen and who may want to bring him in. I do agree with Mora Sr. that Vick is a coach killer at QB and after all the years he has been in the league his skill level is no better. Maybe some one will get him and make him a RB or WR

Falcons are suing him for like 29 million of his bonus money back

and when he gets out of prison he will be 29 and then subject to league suspension. I dunno if he ever makes it back to the NFL

He has been suspend since his trial and chargers where brought against him.

IF he serves his time and gets out on good behavior etc I bet Roger lets him back in. No way the commish adds on much more to the current suspension and time served in the jail.

I just wanted to make sure you know what crime he is getting punished for... hint: it's not for dog fighting.

Doesn't he have prior drug related offenses/ arrests?

There was the infamous water bottle incident which was a drug related arrest and he has a documented positive result. Youre a lawyer, how hard do you think it would be to plead that to the board or whatever oversees this type of thing?

I disagree. I believe he will be given a formal suspension after his release, or just not be reinstated from his indefinite suspension

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick won't face criminal charges over a suspicious bottle he tried to bring through security at Miami International Airport.

Lab tests on the bottle, which contained a hidden compartment that police suspected may have contained marijuana, found no evidence of drugs, according to a memo Monday by Deisy Rodriguez, an assistant state attorney.

"Based on the lab's findings, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office is not filing criminal charges," Rodriguez said in the memo, adding the bottle is no longer considered evidence in an investigation.

No way they find him eligible for this program since he has no history of drug abuse.

In order to be admitted to the program they must be found Bureau of Prisons to have substance abuse problems

Also completing the program does not automatically mean 1 year reduction that is also left to the prisions discretion, and no way are they letting him out early
IF he was already in the NFL substance abuse program, then that could be a documented substance abuse problem. We don't know that he was in the program or not.

I think the indefinite suspension is the formal suspension. I imagine, he'll have to apply for reinstatement whenever he gets out of the system.

But that program is secret so we have no idea if he was in it.

Exactly WG, that is why I asked earlier if the league has announced whether or not he's failed a drug test.......

Hint: Yes he is

Vick's attorney, William R. "Billy" Martin, announced Monday that the quarterback would plead guilty to the federal dogfighting charges and is "prepared to take full responsibility for allowing any and all of this to happen." Vick is scheduled to appear next Monday in U.S. District Court in Richmond. Sources familiar with the case, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal is not final, have said he is expected to plead guilty to a single conspiracy count and that the recommended sentencing range will be 12 to 18 months in prison.

When I said formal I mean with an actual time limit such as all other suspensions.

I also had the reinstatement option in my post

thats all well in good but he was still arrested for suspision of possession of controlled substance.

He wasnt arrested at all, he didnt even miss his flight. Either way it wouldnt matter since the lab confirmed no drugs were found.

the bottom line that some people apparently are conveniently ignoring is that he has a FAILED DRUG TEST FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS.
As i said before 1 failed test for pot does not show a history of substance abuse

Yeah I edited my post with that, too. But if he wants to go into this program and wants to use something other than the failed test by the courts, then he could submit that info as evidence.

I knew what you meant, but I wonder why you don't consider indefinite a formal suspension. IMO, that's as formal as it gets. That means Goodell can change his mind tomorrow or 10 years from now. Odell Thurman was technically suspended for a year and he's been out of the league for two years.

Sorry BigD if someone failed a test that would leave a paper trail which equals to a history....It doesn't have to be multiple instances, all it takes is one.....Just like on an employment application it asks you "have you ever been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor"....it doesn't say anything about how many......

Fair enough but it certainly lends to that. All he has to say is that he cannot control his dreadful marijuana addiction and that is why he was getting high while awaiting sentencing.

it shows that he has some sort of drug history thus his eligibility.

I want him to get it. i think it will be fun watching SB and the rest of Draconian Vigilante Death Squad crying about it.
