Potential backup QB's

Perhaps, but for some guys it takes a try or two. He's head and shoulders above most of the names I've seen listed here. Tim Rattay???? Blech.

Here's a buck, go buy a clue.....

:money:

Ricky Ray! That guy couldn't even make the same 49'ers squad when Rattay was there!

:lmao:

LOL. As usual, about 1/20th of the entire story. Yawn.

And unlike some clowns around here, mine's accurate......

Keep running your mouth know-it-all.

You're looking great so far!

Brad Johnson or Tim Rattay are the most viable options of that group because of price. I expect there to be some suprise cuts that could end up in big D. I wouldn't be supprised to see Kurt Warner hit the streets. If the Cards cut him he would be my favorite to land in Dallas. Also I think i read somewhere where Kerry Collins will be a FA. If so he's not great but he's a serviceable #2.

Look for teams in cap trouble and that's where you might see some QB's start coming available.

Brad Johnson will be 39 this season. I much rather go with someone younger and even Warner at 36 is not much younger. Plus Warner is done. All he does it turn the ball over.

CFL All-Star Ricky Ray of the Edmonton Eskimos.

If we are talking CFL, Buck Pierce from the BC Lions. Youngster's got tools.

As far as NFL retreads go, none of the names mentioned fit the bill. Romo needs a vet with some real game experience to help him. Not some marginal player with two or three years experience and mediocre performance. Johnson would be the best candidate.

I know more than you on the Ricky Ray topic, ace.:lmao:

The only two on that list I'd go after are Carr and Huard.

and please say no to Maddox

I would agree w/either Carr, Huard, maybe Matt Shaub.

Obviously, you thought he was a better player than Rattay - when your hero couldn't even make the same team!
:lmao2:

Stick to watching Ricky Ray in Canada and leave player evaluating to the professionals!

Actual quote from a Ricky Ray article:

In 2002, Ray gave up his job selling Frito Lay potato chips to join the Eskimos.

Maybe you should go back to your "Pro-Switzer" topic?

:pc:

Everyone should read these links. It may be next season before Ray is a free agent. He'll only be 28.

I've read them. No thank you.

Buck Pierce has barely played. Talk about rolling the dice. Ray has a proven track record including 2 Grey Cup wins. Pierce doesn't even start. Please.

I suppose it would not be well received by you if my "Bright Idea" was for you to stop trying to shove Ricky Ray down our throats, yeah?

Ray went to the SF camp at the very end. He never had an opportunity. Why'd you leave that part out?:D

Proven in the CFL is not proven in the NFL. He's had two shots in the NFL. One with the Niners, where he never made the team and one with the Jets where he never played and got cut after 6 games.
