Bills released RB Fred Jackson.

This one is a shocker. Jackson missed most of training camp with a hamstring injury, but showed he still had juice in his legs in the third preseason game, rushing five times for 48 yards and a touchdown. Releasing Jackson suggests the Bills are confident Karlos Williams (illness) and LeSean McCoy (hamstring) will be ready Week 1. An eight-year veteran, Jackson has been with Buffalo his entire career. He should get a long look from teams in need of veteran running back help. The Cowboys, Browns and Patriots could make some sense.
I bring him in a New York minute!

Bears cut Daniel Thomas...fwiw

I mention the Bears mainly due to the guys they still have left.

Matt Forte
Jeremy Langford
Jaquizz Rodgers
Kadeem Carey
Senoise Perry

Again...just fyi. Barring injury, Im not sure Dallas does anything

Rather than paying $1.5 million for what little Dunbar will give them, I'm giving that money to Fred Jackson. You'll have a more complete RB corps and a reliable running back option.

Yeah. I agree.
Seems way better rounded.
I'm still curious about Ka'Deem Carey and the kid Rawls from Seattle too though.

My own opinion? If any of those 4 backs leave Chicago, it's Forte.

I like Rawls, but he seems a bit limited.

I'm calling Fred Jackson. Randle, McFadden, Jackson looks a lot better than Randle, McFadden, and Dunbar to me. Texas born and raised too.

Could not agree more and with his age he will get another chance. I hope not here though.

Well boo I watched the buffalo game this weekend and just don't get it. He would be the perfect vet who wants to win to be brought in.

The Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys have no interest in free agent RB Fred Jackson "at this time."

"At this time" is a very important part of the report. Reports have suggested the Cowboys are comfortable with their committee of Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar, but that could change if the trio struggles early in the season. Jackson went to high school in the Dallas area.

Fred Jackson cut!
34 years old is probably a deal breaker for us.

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- Veteran running back and respected team leaderFred Jackson has been released by theBuffalo Bills.

With nine seasons in Buffalo, the 34-year-old Jackson had been the second-longest serving active player and one of the team's most popular players among fans. The move came as a slight surprise, though Jackson's tenure was in question because of his age and the team's moves to restock its running backs this offseason.

I hear ya but he is from here, respected, and would be a viable backup. If the pats bring him in I will be pissed.

Seems pretty obvious to me that the team feels good about their current RB situation.
