Now, it did not help that Mike Pope was telling him on his way out the door: “You’re about to bring havoc to the NFL because no guys out there are as tough as you. Yeah, I had pause to wonder about that as well. Seemed to me it might have been Pope's parting accolades, designed to encourage him. It might have had the unintended effect of having gone to his head more than helping him. Let's hope we're both wrong on that score. I'd like nothing better than to see him vindicate himself vs. the Cardinals on Thursday. It'd be understandable if he's not the cat's meow, though. Miracles don't normally come to fruition quite that easily.
