I'm thinking we go 7-9 this year and don't even play for the division in the last weekend of the season.

After looking at the schedule and the "changes" we have made I just don't like what I am seeing.

11-5 is my prediction. I believe the defense will be leaps and bounds better than that abomination we fielded last year just off of health alone. We are winning the NFC east.

:) Well i mean the way i see it, with a bunch of my sister's high school friends playing on the d-line for us last year we were in a week 17 win or go home game. The sky did not fall down when we got rid of '13 version of Demarcus Ware (he of the almighty 6 sacks) and Melton is a wash with Hatcher. All our supposed to be 2nd stringers were gone last year and we were playing Ricky and Bobby from off the street. Get a good draft, with 2-3 good players in addition to the guys we have already signed this offseason plus all our guys back from injury last year as well as a full offseason to learn the defense and viola we have a ball game. Also Romo's back surgery was not some severe end all career ending spinal tap, and I believe he will be back to form. So yeahhh I may be the eternal optimist but I see us going back to the playoffs this year. * Note all of this is contingent upon us staying relatively healthy. Not having to play 20 defensive linemen lol*

How will the defense take to Marinelli? Will there be a lot of changes on the defensive side or just a few? Who will be healthy, who will be on the sideline? How will Linehan affect the offense? Will Demarco progress? What will Dunbar do? Who is our second WR, Dwayne Harris or Terrence Williams? Who steps up more?

The Giants are done dude. Trash. Finito. They dont even wanna extend Eli, that says enough right there, their defense is shambles. The Commanders defense is going to border ours from last year, they dont even get a first round pick this year, plus fletcher retired. Adding jackson doesnt help that defense as well as the fact he never killed the cowboys even when he was on the Eagles. So by default our real competition comes from the Eagles, and yet even with them we flat our crushed them the first game last year and the second time definitely woulda been in the playoffs if Romo had been able to play that game even with our historically bad defense. Nobody in this division is scaring me, this is ours for the taking.

Marinelli had bums playing their heart out for him last year, the players love him, give him some actual talent to work with and BOOM. I'm sure he knows best how to get what he wants out of his guys. I put as a disclaimer in my post that the 11-5 prediction is predicated on us staying healthy so of course that could derail my plans as it obviously did last year. Linehan will have our offense humming even better than it was last year, getting the screens and our RB involved. Murray has gotten better every year he has been with us and was a pro-bowler last year so what do we have to worry about him other than health? Dunbar showed his skill last year, our own little version of Darren Sproles. Williams will obviously be our second WR and thats perfect. Beasley and Harris can fight out for that slot, and both will be more productive than Miles The Ghost Austin. So in my eyes things are looking up for next year im not with the whole "doom and gloom" crowd this time.

I'm not going to count on half of this defense staying healthy. They haven't been able to prove that they can stay healthy and until they do you just can't expect them to, especially Sean Lee. Even if they were healthy, they won't be able to stop anybody on a consistent basis. Even if they do improve on defense, which considering how bad they were how could they not, they will still struggle, imo.

I like the late bye week and I like having three games in a row at home but I predict that we'll go somewhere between 4-12 and 6-10.

Of course at this point, there are alot of things that could change. We still have the draft coming up and training camp, but as of right now that's what I think. Hope I'm wrong and we can stay healthy and catch some breaks.

Therein lies the crux of the issue. Our defense is unreliable. We are going to have to have a seriously special draft to really shore up the necessary skill and depth to allow Marinelli to make his mark. We desperately need to move from the team that has to outscore everyone week in and week out to the team that just has to bust 25-30 to get the W. That will only come with massive improvement on the defensive side of the ball. It's really a catch 22 for Jerry and people like me that salivate over the possibility of drafting Manziel.

You draft him and you have probably given up your chance to get a real plugger in the middle of that defensive line.

I'm not counting losses against the Eagles yet until I know how they replace the Cowboy killer himself... Desean Jackson. Without him. We can load up the box and play the run even better than last year.

You might want to re-visit history a bit. Jackson has never been a "Cowboy killer".

I dont know where you get the Giants are done, i have seen them done, remember when they went to the SB. That right there tells you never count out a team. So i still feel the nfce wont be a walk in the park as you are predicting. Also keep in mind the NFL has figured out, you dont have to beat Dallas you just have to wait til they make a mistake.

I like the optimissim, just hard to get on board after three 8-8 seasons. Keep up the good work tho.
