so besides making excuses, how did the giants do it and we cant break 8-8 under garrett?

It's called staying relatively healthy. Were we healthy? Romo didn't even play the last game last season and we still almost pulled off the upset. Call it an excuse if you will, but the injuries have been brutal the past few seasons; none worse than last year.

omg, no other team deals with injuries or sustains them, thats how they do it. No one team gets injuries but Dallas. and btw, it was dallas who had games that chose not to play orton, when they knew they should have. Yes, unlike the Cowboys, i did expect Romo to go down. Dallas should have prepared for that. So theres that cleared up. What else?

Right now, l think we'll probably be lucky to have a year's end record of 7-9. This year's schedule is brutal and our ???s are numerous.

Green Bay played over half the season with their 3rd string QB and still won the division and went to the playoffs.

Just saying other teams actually have injuries also, not just Dallas. However, some of those teams still are able to win games and go to the playoffs. Maybe they just have better depth and coaches than we do.

Just an observation.

People keep mentioning this and I'm not sure why. It is simple - we don't have the depth and everyone breathing air knows it. There is a difference between GB and us. Their roster is better so they can overcome injuries better. If both teams have the same number of injuries then GB will win more games. It's that simple. Our injuries just killed us because of our lack of depth and the concentration of them on defense. Comparing the number of injuries we had to GB's is like comparing apples and oranges.

8-8 until proven otherwise. Dallas will beat bad teams and lose to good ones.

Same old story.

I get your point, we don't have the same quality of roster that Green Bay has. Their 52 man roster is simply a lot better than our 52 man roster.

I guess the question to ask is why? Do they have better scouts? Do they have a better system of putting their draft board together? Do their coaches have a better understanding of what type of players fit their system?

Why does a team like Green Bay year in and year out have a superior roster to ours and what do we need to do to close that gap?

Better drafting and salary cap management. We are getting there. The drafts have been better in recent years. Now it appears the front office has figured out that salary cap hell by paying (or overpaying) for age isn't the way to build your roster. The ability to actually sign some FA's next spring will be sweet.

Good points.

I do agree that the drafting has gotten better in recent years........................I am just hoping Jerry doesn't do something stupid this year (like trade up for JF).

I will need a new remote and some dry wall repair if that happens.................LOL

Have a better idea after the draft obviously but for the meantime I'd guess around 9-7. The Rams and Titans both seem like early games that we could lose to a team who end up being a lot better than folk currently expect and San Fran and Indy are both games I have down as a loss that I could see us win. Probably going to come down to the final game again, if it does it would be pretty tight but law of averages and blind optimism says we win this year.

Have us at 6-4 at the bye and then losing out (6-10). Tough end of the year stretch.

In a nutshell long and painful. Thank goodness we have the zone to get through those games like Detroit.

So glad you had Romo pegged to go down. Ty Nostradamus. All teams prepare. But you can only prepare for so many. When you lose starters, and depth, it's a recipe for disaster. That's what happened. But please enlighten me that that never occurred.

Go ahead with more after-the-fact predictions.

That time of the year has come again where those of us that proclaim to be all knowing predict how many wins we're going to see in the upcoming year. Feel free to toss your name in the fire. Come one come all.

Based upon my predictions below, our record will be 7-9. We will enter the bye week at 5-5 and finish up on a weak note. Have to revise my 8-8/9-7 down this year. Nothing to this point gives me the level of confidence that says we will sniff any hint of playoffs this year. Hoping we make a splash in the draft and keep Johnny F in Texas.

no need for the snark, im not against you, just sayig what i have been saying. To clarify when it comes to prepping for the season and probably this up coming season, again, Dallas has to be ready to play in december not in september, there no winning the SB in september. Again, Dallas will have to be prepared for depth and making sure that the depth is ready to play. Dallas insured its fans that it was not taking it serious when they failed to play Orton in any game, thats on Dallas. I cant help it if it benefitted the eagles.

Most fans think, well this one play or that one play and we could have won it, but you usually end up with that one play because you failed someplace else. everyone knew Romo would go down, the question wasnt "if" it was "when".

The defensive side, okay, a bit wierd, but come on, some players need to go anyway and we need to realize not all our players are great. Safety might be another concern this year. who will that fall on? Everyone, at some point Stephen is going to have to show someone hes ready and if hes not on his dads desk screaming for change, i have NO faith hes going to change this organzation like everyone believes.

Dallas also has to stop getting Garrett help and either realize he can get the job done, or realize he cant and move on. It will suck, ill admit that because than everything else changes and that takes time. Yes they want to patch this team so Garrett has help here and there and over there. Sooner or later hes going to have to break the streak and either climb it or go home.

This year is a new year, so 8-8 should not be the target. They have to learn what the other teams learned and they have to get their ship righted. Yes we all know whos the bg problem is, but hes not going away.

After listening to Jerry state how he likes where they are at in regards to the safety position, I feel like it will be another 30th ranking for the pass defense and 7 wins.
