So what does it say about a poster that clicks on said thread?
This is an even more ignorant reply. I came in looking for rational arguments! There are none. We’ve been lucky to have a free agent and a 4th rounder lead us. Romo basically single handedly won us games while breaking our heart….Dak too. These threads are dumb You started a dumb thread based on different facts. Go to bed!

Yeah, he took a stacked team, top to bottom, that rivaled the early 90s Cowboys teams to the SB twice. Not that impressed. You want backbreaking, look to the 2009 NFC championship game. Very few quarterbacks can grab defeat from the jaws of victory like Brett Favre.
The 2007 Cowboys were stacked with 13 pro bowlers and did not win 1 playoff game. Were you impressed with Romo?

Hilarious post. But sorry looks like I'm going to pull an all nighter.

Actually, I didn't think he played poorly in that game. He didn't throw a back breaking interception. But yeah, that team was stacked. But he did have a backbreaking drop.

2007 Cowboys Pro Bowlers:

QB Tony Romo RB Marion Barber WR Terrell Owens TE Jason Witten T Flozell Adams G Leonard Davis C Andre Gurode LB Greg Ellis LB DeMarcus Ware CB Terence Newman FS Ken Hamlin SS Roy Williams K Nick Folk
Smh. Team was stacked lol. Roy Williams may be the one guy you can say probably got in based on past seasons….

The Giants defense that made guys like Tom Brady, Tony Romo, Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan look like crap?

Eli Manning carried those guys?

If you have to say he didn’t play poorly then he didn’t play good enough to win. Same thing with Dak. He didn’t play poorly in some of these playoff games but not enough to win them.

Dak had the third highest rating in the playoffs for a Dallas QB last week and the team won. Tony had the second highest in the GB 2014 playoff game and the team lost. How many QB’s with those kind of ratings do you think “lose” or “don’t do enough to win” playoff games? How many QBs with those kind of ratings do you think “lost” playoff games?

In 2014, as a team they put up 3 touchdowns and left points on the board. If you thought 21 points was enough to beat Aaron Rodgers in 2014 then that's a risky game to play. Romo didn't play bad in that game but the offense wasn't as productive as it should've been.

And the difference between what Dak did in his game and what Romo did in his is Romo only had 191 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.....Dak had 5 Touchdowns and 300 yards....might want to use QBR to get a better gauge of how they performed and why one team won and why the other lost. Romo had a 78.3 QBR that game. Dak had a 96.5.....very tough to lose with a QBR that high.....

Yes, I remember a fumble by Murray on a strip by Peters that likely would’ve gone the distance and a once in a lifetime overturned catch on a mutated interpretation of the rules that was ruled a non-catch. But somehow Romo didn’t step up to do enough to win. How about the defense not stepping up enough to stop a gimpy Rogers running on one healthy ankle that put 26 points on the board? How about them not stepping up to give the ‘Boys back the ball for one more chance with over four minutes left in the game?

That's kind of my point though. Aaron Rodgers hurt and all stepped up and put his team over the top. They put up 26 points that game.....one of the lower outputs that year.

I'd love to sit here and say I wish we had the Doomsday defense for Romo to terrorize teams every week and not lose like we did in 2014.

And let's also put something in perspective about that 2014 game.......

Great pass to Dez that was a catch.

It was 4th and 2 with 4 minutes left on the clock. I don't know if it was wise to throw such a low percentage throw in that game with our offensive line and run game. Should've milked the clock and ran the football IMO. But these are the little things that stop us from winning.

Dak was bad last year against the 49ers.....do y'all remember the Cowboys were about to get the football back with I believe over 2 minutes left in the game? They stop Deebo Samuel and Randy Gregory decides to hold a offensive linemen for no reason? This is the Cowboys and why they haven't had more success. The QB has to overcome stupidity...we expect it from Dak but I guess Romo didn't have to?

You have a short term memory and must have forgot the title and OP's point for starting this thread.

Ok. This discussion is pointless lol. Just talking around in circles. You're not understanding what i'm saying and i'm not understanding what you're saying so it is what it is. This is always a discussion that brings emotions out of guys because Romo was a polarizing QB in Dallas. A lot of rewriting history has gone on when it comes to him post career.

It's definitely an odd thing. You'd think we'd keep a 30 thousand foot view of him by now. Undrafted QB becoming one of the best of his time among VERY good QB's. Why are we fighting about it, and bringing Dak into it?

A very odd thing. I suppose we have to keep the polarization alive and well....to justify Dak? I dunno...just trying to put some reason to it, I dunno.

QB's always get the credit...or blame. People are breaking their backs protecting Dak from it.

Anybody remember who else didnt; win a super bowl on Marino's team? We sure remember him not doing it.

Its natural that the guy Dak replaced will be compared to Romo. Anyone that think that won't happen is just fooling themselves. The only reason people didn't compare Romo to Troy was because of the rings and the crap in between Troy and Romo. Romo surpassed anything those guys could ever do...If Dak were to get a ring he'd immediately compared to Troy. Its not Troy slander its just the nature of the beast.

Some people just can't be realistic on Romo. A good QB who had a good career who had less than stellar performances in the playoffs. No shame in that.
