Jerry wanted Paxton Lynch and then Conner Cook
so giving any credit to the management is stupid
Will McClay and this front office have some some of the highest graded drafts over the last two years.

Loved Romo. Love Dak.

Yet neither has been "successful" in the playoffs, but most of their lack of success is NOT their fault. Their respective 8/2 and 10/3 playoff TD/Int ratios show that.

Remember, they had PLENTY of help failing to win in the Post Season. Be it OLines not holding up, the D's not stopping opponents, someone not catching good passes, or someone fumbling the ball (outside a FG attempt). We have seen non-QBs be just as impactful to the failures of the the Cowboys Post Season as Romo and/or Dak has been.

Regardless if Dak wins a Super Bowl, or multiple, I still will believe Romo could have won a SB too if it wasn't for things completely out of his control.

And what Dak does will not reduce any love I have/had for Romo.

BOTH are completely underappreciated by their own fan base and I believe BOTH could have / can win a Championship.

It is not just Prescott and Romo. Some observers are fascinated by comparing any player. Current players. Ex-players. Current versus ex. The media has always done the same also. It is a fantasy exercise, Madden at its best.
Player comparison started long before Madden.

The way to compare is games started.

Romo has 127 career games started. Prescott after this year has 97 games started.

When Prescott gets to 127 games started, you can then compare evenly.

Till then it's apples and oranges.

Steph Curry vs. Isaiah Thomas!
Mark Spitz vs. Michael Phelps!
King Kong vs. Godzilla!

Personally, I am betting the house on Godzilla. That guy has killer halitosis!

True but Madden has allowed those fantasies to come to life for those who are really passionate about them.
Comparsion for me is not about"fantasy".
It is viewing a player's approach, method, passion, technique, or way on the field during a game - that all of a sudden - sparked a thought in my mind that "hey....that guy reminds of [this running back ] or [that linebacker].

Yes, the Romo -Prescott debate include stats compiled, QBR, 4th qtr. combacks, etc. from season to season, plus the career overall; but it will be just as much about playing style, which QB was the starter when a fan first followed the Cowboys, persona, how many unreal plays and sensational games each guy produced.

However..refer back to thread title, and the OP's comment.
That CZer is strictly using playoff participation and results as his criteria.

...to what end?

Speculative exercise. I call it fantasy. Others call it a tomato.

Any one who has ever wondered why there are people who seem to "over harp" on Dak, Look no farther than OP

It's this kind of little brother antics that continue to fan the flames of this type of forum chaos.

Dak has tied Romo's playoff wins in half the number of years. Romo never advanced beyond the division around. If Dak can get one more playoff win and advance to the NFC championship game, the Prescott-Romo debate can be put to bed forever.
Not really. Always debate that dak has the better defense. ***** Snickers *****
