Sigh.

$7.5 million left can cover all 3 if we choose to. Plus the Draft picks.

Put the Maalox back on the shelf.

I guess the name Hostile is synonymous with your personality??

You, sir, should put the Maalox down :D ;)

Let's hope you're right!

Let's not forget that resigning Ware probably wouldn't increase his cap # significantly this year. His base would be the league minimum. The signing bonus will be big, but pro-rated over several years.

Dallas could guarantee a LARGE 2010 salary in Ware's contract with the $$$ it saves by getting TO off the books.

The talk of TO being too big a cap hit is just untrue, whether suggested by JJ, the media or anyone on this board.

For the record, I totally agree with the OP.

BTW, Carolina had the number 3 rushing attack in the NFL... Steve Smith was the number 3 receiver in the NFL...

Jason Garrett making an effort to run the ball consistently in no way, shape or form, will harm TO producing all-world numbers...

I never once said it would.

I said he is a distraction we don't need. There are enough other weapons to eliminate his distractions.

I thought you implied it by mentioning the 3-headed monster Dallas has... My point though is, it is Garrett to choose whether Dallas runs the ball or not... TO isn't the distraction that causes Garrett to go with a specific game-plan...

I would definitely get rid of Owens.

Jerra would be excorciated for that.

The cause of this team's debacle was lack of good coaching, a laid-back aproach by players to each game, lack of execution and yes, injuries.

Not Owens. He wanted to help and he became angry about his lack of output.

And even barring the bad breaks, this team did not tank because of Owens.

It was a team effort, and almost everybody came up short.

Cutting Owens is is throwing in the towel. He's a bona-fide star WR. We need him, despite the stink.

I feel like I'm in the twilight zone when I read this because on the surface everything you said seems true, what lies beneath is the real mystery nobody can concretely prove or disprove...:(

You'd be too busy throwing up from the conditioning program to be able to talk.

Amen Hostile. TO must go. Eat the $660,000 difference on the cap without Owens vs. With Owens

He can stay if he agrees to shut up. I don't deny I'd like to see him show Roy11 how hard to work to succeed. But he is a symptom of losing as he currently handles things. It isn't worth keeping him as long as he is static. <<< Double meaning to static. If you get my drift.

we would need to get another deep threat if and when we get rid of Owens. Roy is not a deep threat and i don't think Austin can stay healthy long enough for us to survive. we would become pedestrian without TO. if we can get a speed receiver in free agency or through the draft then yes get TO outta here. Otherwise we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot.

The TO signing was wrong from the get-go. Anyone could clearly tell Parcells was uncomfortable with it and I know that BP understands football and his teams about 3000% more than Jerry. Parcells was definitely the best thing that happened to this team since Jimmy Johnson, and TO probably played a huge part in him leaving town. Can't dwell on the past obviously, but it's pretty clear that other teams are getting it done without TO, so we could have also.

Another problem with TO is that he's hindering Romo's development. It's clear that if you draw double coverage, chances are good that somebody (Witten) will be open. Romo forced way too many passes in TO's direction just to keep him happy, rather than going through his progressions and picking the open man. We don't need receivers like that. TO is too childish and selfish to understand these things. The best part is that he absolutely won't go up the middle to catch anything. Alligator arms is an understatement. He even drops lots of balls in general. For somebody with such a big mouth and cocky attitude, you'd at least hope he plays like he talks. TO made a lot of drive killing drops over the past two seasons.

Additionally, TO is getting older and even though he's in phenomenal shape, there's gonna be a breaking point soon and I don't think it's worth keeping him around for it. I love his work ethic and winning attitude, but unfortunately he's a poison and lockerroom divider. Wade doesn't have the backbone required to settle him down and Romo is too laid back to handle it also. We need an offense where even one player can catch every single ball thrown and nobody else will have a problem with it as long as it's helping this team move the ball down the field and win games. That obviously will never happen if TO is on the roster. I have enough faith in our D to be willing to give up some points on offense by cutting TO.

The Cowboys have plenty of weapons. You could draft a WR like Kenny McKinnley form South Carolina. He could play behind Crayton. The Cowboys threw the ball 58% of the time and ran it 42% of the time. That needs to become more balanced, and Terrell Owens isn't going to allow Jason Garrett to work in peace.

Tony Romo needs total control of the huddle, and he will not have it as long as i81 is in Dallas.

The Titans best WR is Justin Gage. That was Justin Gage torching the Ravens.

Rw is no number 1.He is slow as molasses.Worst trade ever.TO is way way better then him. Therefore our wr corps would scare nobody. No matter what u do you have to have an offensive line to play pass or ball control.Ours was crap this year.Kosier loss affected it greatly.Reds playcalling didnt change even though it should have with the line not playing as well.Shanny would be the best thing for Romo and this offense by far.Shanny would utilize the weapons.

Michael Irvin wasn't exactly a speed burner either, but he sure as hell was pretty damn effective. We've got speed with Austin and Felix. I like Owens. He's a great football player. I'd like to keep him, but if I'm Jerry Jones, I have a serious heart-to-heart with him this off-season. I'd tell him that they're through with all his crap and that if he wants to stay on the team, he has to get with the program. Put in in his lap. Either he agrees or he gets cut/traded. Could we use his production? Hell yes. But, getting rid of all the distractions and attitude would be better overall for the organization. Let him decide.

Actually, I want to mimic the 90's Cowboys who rode Emmitt Smith to 3 titles by wearing teams down. The kind of coaching Jason Garrett learned under guys like Zampese and Norv. Back to his true roots.

It's great to have a quick strike Offense, but I think we would be a better team by beating the other teams up. Guys like Flo and BIGG are maulers. Gurode is too. Holland could be. Columbo is a mauler who likes to be an enforcer. Give them what they need, a reason to beat the hell out of someone.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! You must be a genius too, because we sure as hell think alike. :)
