Kind of like Emmitt was overrated right? He wasn't flashy enough, fast enough? But he holds the records.

Maybe Demarcus should come up with some dance. Or maybe spit on the QB he just sacked. That would be memorable right?

Demarcus Ware needs to grow some long blonde hair and flex his muscles in a signature move after each sack..... if he did those things he would be much higher on this list.... :)

You mean, kinda like pounding the ground like King Kong after a sack or big play?

He has one.

I just wish more of them occurred late in the fourth quarter to kill a drive against the Giants than they do in the first quarter against the Cardinals.

And yet, other than the Saints game a couple of years ago and a great interception return against Vick and the Falcons, I recall almost none of them practically.

He needs more big plays in big moments.

Just because you don't have the ability to remember plays does not mean it should penalize those that have year in and year out put up good numbers and made a number of plays.

This fan base never ceases to amaze me.

LOL, I always get dogpiled for my Ware opinions.

Great player, but highly overrated. I'm sorry. I've seen every Cowboys game since 1972, and he's just the all-world player that he's trumped up to be.

Stats don't impress me. Jeff George had great stats.

boo hoo ware doesnt live up to what you want him to do. Oh noes, hes no longer a good player.

i respect opinions, as long as they are ones own, and i respect free specch, but to sit here and try and prove that Ware is not a player that deserved to be on a top ten list, (i could accept the case others should be on it) is just silly. The guy is dominant, i noticed your select memory doesnt remember when the Skins lineman had to tackle ware, or when ware was constently double teamed, often times guys jumping but refs letting it go, OR refs penalizing ware for what they thought was jumping BUT video proved Ware to be that fast.

Your argument is silly.

There is probably a reason you get dog piled.

Comparing Ware to George is just one such reason.

This fan base needs clorox in the gene pool.

What constitutes big games? Or big moments? I'll argue that if the opportunity to make the big play is there and a player doesn't then the label of not showing up is warranted. But if you're able to force 32 fumbles in 8 years you are making big plays.

who over hypes him compared to the MANY players that have been overhyped and havent contributed, notice the word, than Ware has for him team despite the many factors involved, a lot of factors being the team hasnt helped him or Witten or Romo all that much and continued to make stupid mistakes that have costed the team seasons? All of which the players had nothing to do with.

Not looking to attack here but I am curious as to who you would consider above Ware in today's NFL that is getting "clutch" sacks etc. I'd be interested in comparing players based on actual data available.

You mention selective memory, but fail to mention the game against Jax a couple years ago, a seriously inferior Jax team at that, in which DeMarcus failed to record a statistic.

The guy is not dominant, because, at times, he disappears. A lot of the time, its in the fourth quarter. Just the way it is.

I do think that Harvey Martin should be on the list. He is very close to the top of that list with regards to sacks and he still holds the unofficial Cowboys mark.

I disagree.

Once open handed blocking was made legal in 1978, Martin was not nearly as dominant.

You may disagree if you wish but the reason he fell off was not because of blocking. The reason he fell off was because of drugs.

He was a Pro Bowler in 78 and 79.

Ware gets stats, but he is not a dominant pass rusher. Teams don't fear him. King Dunlap owned him last season (and he owned no one else because he sucks).

Ware is a very nice player. To me, he's Greg Ellis.

Bwahahahahahaaa!!!!!!!!!! Oh wow..... :laugh2:

which player made every play he needed to make in every "big" game he played in every time THAT the team needed it?

By select you mean THAT one Jax team, or the time Ware got tired playing his heart out for this team? which team was that?

You guys are just being flat out silly. Ooooooo WARE DIDNT GET THAT SACK WE NEEDED, HE SUCKS, some guy on the SAINTS PWNS ALL.

get real.

you can have an opinion, show your opinion, spread it around, but if someone is going to slap you with facts, just own up.

Ware cant make every play, of every game, of every season of every second of a game. people, not every player has done that. Put the scope down and look at the overall body of work.
