I found a story from January about Rusev which shines some light on his firing yesterday. Apparently his contract was about up and let it be known he wasn't sticking around. His 5 best options: AEW, Japan, Impact, somewhere else or staying with WWE.

My personal belief was that the only reason why they re-upped with Lana at all was so that it would make Rusev more inclined to stay where his wife was.

But now that they've effectively given up on that, I see no reason why they would keep her.

She's talent-less, and I could care less that she has some straight-to-video cash-grab film with Bruce Willis coming up. Nobody cares!

WWE Friday Night SmackDown draws another overnight low in viewership

The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode from Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center.

The episode drew an average of 2.192 million viewers, which is down from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 2.304 million viewers. This show was the lowest-rated episode of the show since last week. Before that, the lowest numbers for the show was when it premiered on FOX last October.

WWE Raw Ratings Drop to 1.84M Viewers After Major Dip Last Week

After last week's episode of WWE Raw drew the lowest non-holiday viewership in the history of the show, Monday's edition of Raw garnered 1.84 million viewers.

According to Mitch Metcalf of ShowBuzz Daily, Raw saw its viewership decrease on the heels of last week's show averaging 1.913 million viewers during the three-hour broadcast on USA Network.

Monday's Raw once again emanated from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, with no fans in attendance because of the coronavirus. It also focused heavily on WWE champion Drew McIntyre for the third week in a row.

WWE Rumors: Future Plans for 2-Night WrestleMania Events After WrestleMania 36

This year's WrestleMania was a two-night event out of necessity, but WWE reportedly has no plans to go back to that format in the near future.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News), WWE is currently planning for next year's WrestleMania 37 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, to be a one-night show on March 28.

This year's WrestleMania had been scheduled to be a one-night affair at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, but the coronavirus pandemic forced the company to move it to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, with no fans in attendance.

WWE SmackDown Ratings Down Despite Triple H 25th Anniversary Celebration

Viewership for WWE SmackDown continued to drop this week, as it reached a new low since moving to Fox in October, provided the overnight numbers hold up.

According to Showbuzz Daily, Friday's episode of SmackDown averaged 2.014 million viewers, which is down 7.9 percent from last week's 2.187 million. SmackDown also finished seventh in the 18- to 49-year-old demographic for the night with a 0.5 rating.
