They say 11 police officers arrived within three minutes, and an officer with a ballistic shield was in the building at 11:52. This happened after school district police chief Peter Arredondo had reported that the gunman had "shot a lot" and that the police only had "pistols", according to the media outlets.

That is an interesting......stat.....I suppose you can call it. Wonder what is behind that? They finally snap and use a family member to see if they can actually murder? I can't imagine what these people think when they're dying by the hands of somebody they loved/once held in their arms as a young child.

Which is BS. Most officers carry long rifles in their patrol cars now. I suppose I cannot speak on the Uvalde Police Department, but I pretty much assumed all police departments nationwide worked under this policy.

The more they reveal, the sadder I become. The children & 2 teachers lives could have been saved. These cops were literally called out ny a mad man & their true selves were exposed.

I think sometimes its rage... Like Edmund Kemper killing his mother.

Sometimes it's the selfish reason of believing their loved one(s) would suffer too greatly for their (the killer's) crimes.

John Lisk who murdered his entire family (including his mother) in the early 70's and disappeared for 20 years until John Walsh and "America's Most Wanted" caught up to him had lost his job and murdered his family because he felt the embarrassment of losing social stature would be too much for them.

Then on top of that incredibly selfish action he told police interviewers after he had been found & arrested that he did not kill himself because suicide was a unpardonable sin in the eyes of God.

Just incredibly selfish.

It's been known for decades, that one of the signs of a person going psycho, is killing/torturing animals.

The Uvalde killer brought a bad of dead cats to school. It was noted, but not officially reported.... Now tell me, how does that happen???

Texas Department of Public Safety Director Col. Steven McCraw revealed that the husband of slain elementary teacher Eva Mireles tried to save her but was barred from doing so.

It's that and beyond. No mentally stable human would seek out to kill people. It's been brushed aside for far too long.

A couple of those guns were stolen over the years, so they stopped using those tactics. Can't have the police supplying criminals with assault rifles.

PBS’s Newshour dedicated 8 minutes to discuss the gun aspect, 5 minutes with an expert Psychiatrist Professor from Duke University, how RC3, “was able to get his guns in the first place” — but no mention of how it was RC3’s father that made it possible for the boy to get the guns...
