Because Vick spent over 2 YEARS in jail. That is a life-changing experience. I think Vick has suffered enough. Let the man go back to work. Our country gives 2nd chances all the time. This is America, isn't it?

he has a second chance, he will play in the nfl if a team chooses to sign him.

But as stated in his CONTRACT, part of playing in the NFL is obeying the NFL rules.

It's like getting a dui. You got in trouble with the government and you could lose your job for it. That's no different then Vick's case. People say "the government punished him, he's done enough..."

Imagine you went to jail for 2 years, you would certainly lose your job for it. Part of playing in the NFL is complying with NFL rules, and the rules state an offense against the nfl conduct policy like his is a 4 game suspension. It shouldnt be that hard for people to get.

I'm fine with Vick being back in the league if his punishment for poor performance or being injured is the same to what he did to dogs in the same situation.

My own feelings aside, Goodell doesn't even have to address the dog fighting issue if he decides to ban Vick. He can ban Vick for life for associating with gamblers and Vick would have very little chance of winning a court case that would force the league to reinstate him.

The only problem I have Is goodell had 2 yrs to come up with a decision. By his dragging his feet he is preventing vick from being picked up by other teams. What I mean by this is what team would be willing to hold a spot for vick who may or may not be able to still play. I know he'll be able to goto camp but then he'll may miss whatever num. of games at least if decsion was already made teams could have made up their minds and made battle plans if they decided to bring in vick.

Here's what I won't miss about T.O.

Every little thing he says becomes a story, and the stories will of course be automatically linked to the Bills. You think this makes ESPN if Torry Holt said it?

Why is he popping off about Vick? It's none of his business.

He was asked and gave his opinion.

I can see where he's coming from, although I don't agree with it.

This is where I'm glad he's no longer with the team, we'd never hear the end of it even though he's just stating his opinion to a question he was asked.

"Again, why not?" Owens said. "Michael Vick is a guy that really hasn't had any character issues besides [what] he got a prison sentence for, so why not."

I agree with a lot of what TO said but the statement above is just ******** at best. Other then be a felon who brutalizes animals Vick hasnt shown any character issues. Sorry TO that alone shows he has ZERO character.

Hey, other than killing dogs, spreading sexually transmitted diseases, flipping the bird to fans and trying to smuggle weed onto a plane, Vick is an all around great guy.

He did it to tank, did it to C.Henry, did it to pacman.

How is it unfair to do it to Vick? Yet nobody had a problem with him doing the same thing to the others?

I say it's necessary, as he needs to not show favor to some athletes over others.

you seriously did not type this right...he has had different rules for others. dont be blind!!!

Nobody is signing Vick to be their starter no matter what Goodell does so a four game suspension makes no difference. Hell, nobody is going to sign him to even be a their backup. 3rd string at best.

Maybe true however it's still a roster spot which is still very important.

I don't think its so much about Vick, or even that TO has an opinion on Vick, its the baggage (like this thread) that he brings with all his comments.

People feel the need to dissect his every word from every angle, its tiresome. We endured him while he was here (like many people), but now he is a member of the Bills, let them and ESPN dissect it ad nauseam...

How important? Bobby Carpenter important or Stanback important?

Did Goodell make a decision on Vick's reinstatement yet?

I find it ironic that many Cowboys fans who hate premature reports that reflect negatively on the team and take the wait-until-more-evidence-surfaces approach now back T.O. and condemn Goodell based on premature speculation of a decision he hasn't even made yet.

If you would have read it correctly, you would have noticed I said he needs to be consistent and NOT treat athletes by different sets of rules.

I said SINCE he did it to those three he should suspend Vick as well.
