Props to "The Player" but I'm glad he's gone

I also agree with TO 100% and I'm not a TO fan. As far as him being here I don't think what he says is the problem but more of how the media takes whatever he says on any given subject and plays it to death and put their on spin of things, especially Espn.

The media asked him a question, he gave his opinion, what's the big deal?

So everyone who is asked a question is obligated to answer?

So if you know that, why continue to feed the media?

Look, I'm no T.O. fan by any stretch of the imagination, but the guy gave his opinion. There are no doubt more players who feel the same way he does about the situation, he just had the stones to verbalize to the media. Will it be the scrutinized by everyone and their mother?, of course it will! Will he be villified by every sports programming network under the sun, ESPN being the at head of that line? You better believe he will! Does that make him wrong for saying it?, hell no!, but I respect him for vocalizing his opinion.

I think Mike Vick shouldn't be suspended any further, the man did 2 years in Leavenworth!, but....................that's my OPINION,...........everyone has one.

Nothing, it is no big deal it is never a big deal anytime TO opens his mouth yet some how it turns into 1 and you would figure a man with his reputation would have sense enough to not comment if does not concern him or the Buffalo Bills.

Slightly off-topic, but there was one time when I actually commended Owens for going against his own nature by not responding to the press and that's the week prior to the New England game in '07. It seemed like he wanted to avoid the whole Moss/Owens media inspired non-controversy when he placed that sign in his locker stating that he would remain silent on the matter.

Unlike the vast majority of players who can respond to the media without backlash, Owens understands that whatever he says will be treated as controverial by the media. The aforementioned episode is a perfect example, but it matters not. As always, truth or not, he's going to say what's on his mind and any consequences be damned. Thankfully, any media backlash will be directed at Buffalo this year and NOT Dallas.

The problem with T.O. is he can't keep his mouth shut, and he invites these controversies on himself. It's not so much that he has to speak out in favor of Vick. It's that he has to say something to the effect that "Goodell should spend 23 months in jail."

He still hasn't come to understand why he's continously bashed by the media enough to say "No comment" or to at the very least not offer controversial statements.

But he's only giving his opinion, so I guess it should be okay.

I am convinced that ESPN has a person vendetta against T.O. But I blame T.O. more than I blame ESPN because only he controls what he says to the media.

But he's Buffalo's problem now, not the problem of the Dallas Cowboys. :)

Why is he popping off about Vick? It's none of his business.
It's called support for your fellow player. I guess you support no one who's ever done something wrong?

Probably b/c a member of the esteemed media asked Terrell Owens about Michael Vick knowing they could exploit the answer...no matter what the answer. This b/c the one answer they're assured of NOT hearing is "no comment."
well maybe if the dummy that he is would just shut up for once in his life.

I have nothing against owens at all. people blame him because He speaks his mind. He's an easy scapegoat. Bottom line is he was proud to be a COWBOY and everybody blamed Him for OUR teams crappy play. it wasnt Owens fault at all. Hey, IDIOTS, throw the ball to the open WR. What now these guys on defense forgot to play because of OWens?

Blah....And the Comish is a perfect example of somebody that doesnt know how to handle power. Power trips, just like that little guy that gets the supervisor position and doesnt know how to handle it.
yet very few people were proud to have him as a Cowboy from the 1st time he disrespected this franchise when he was a 49er and as an eagle and through his tenure as a Cowboy. one of Jerrys worst signings hands down.

Exactly. Saying I hope Vick is allowed back can be said without the overkill that TO presented. Is he entitled to an opinion of course he is but given the 13 or 14 years of being a lightening rod in the NFL you would think he would choose his words better? Thankfully TO and his comments will not be hanging over the head of the Cowboys.

Owens has always understood the implications of his statements and he words his responses accordingly.

Not only should Goodell not suspend him further, he should force Buffalo to sign him and start him just to punish TO for running his mouth.

He would have a difficult time convincing anyone that the media misquotes him. He says what he means. There's nothing wrong with that, but what one says can be question by others; and when it comes to Owens, the media questions everything he utters.

Others do not take long to figure out it is better to give a non controversial response generic if you will than to bring un-needed attention to themselves and their team. Clearly that is not TO and it may have something to do with the fact he is now on his 4th team despite the fact of his talent.

Quoted for truth, but I would replace the 'may have' with a 'has'. :)

I have. But I don't have a reputation of throwing people under the bus while giving my opinion to the media. And neither am I in a situation where I know someone is purposefully baiting me to use my opinion as headline story material. :p:
