Same story but a different link. Looks like T.O. is stirring it good. After the way last year finished, imagine the effect this would have on the Cowboys locker room?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4356802

Bills safety George Wilson, the team's NFLPA representative, agreed with Owens.

"How do you bring a man out of suspension and then suspend him again? I mean, he's paid his debt," Wilson said. "I think you just continue to hold him down by bringing him back and then suspend him."

Wilson said he intends to discuss Vick's status with Owens and other teammates to determine whether to bring the Bills players' position to the union.

"We'll see where it goes, but I think Terrell is right in stating his position," Wilson said. "This is an instance where perhaps our players association needs to try to get involved."

I think what many might be missing is this very critical point: Reinstating Vick before the first game of the season invites undue attention on the NFL during its opening week.

Let's assume Vick is reinstated, and he signs with a team. Even if he's not playing, you can betcha animal rights protesters will be outside the stadium railing against Michael Vick and the team that agrees to take him on as a player.

Now, instead of the NFL opening week being about the games, it's about Michael Vick.

Wait a few weeks when the league is in full swing, and you'll probably have the same protest, just not as high profiled and not stealing attention from the first week of the season.

It's like having a shooting the first day school opens. A shooting anytime is bad. But on the first day school opens after summer break? That just sets a tone that a school rather not have on the opening day.

If that is the justification, then I would support a Michael Vick ban for a few weeks. That we he gets to go to a team, sit in the background and let the season get kicked off properly before he becomes an issue and the center of attention - and protests.

How important? Bobby Carpenter important or Stanback important?

One is supposed to be a important piece to the defensive puzzle this coming yr. And the other at least has made a play or two for the boys. A team does not know what Vick has and most likely doesn't want too because of this situation.

Good point. Really I don't think that a few weeks is going to make much difference anyhow since he doesn't have a team at this point and there's no way he'd be ready to play by the start of the season. He has to get back in shape and has to learn the offense of the team that picks him up. That won't happen by the start of the season. I'd say the debate about if he is reinstated now or a few weeks from now is more symbolic than substantive. The question about if he should be allowed back or not is a different debate in my opinion.

It's not popular to be the enforcer but I think Goodell's intentions for the league are good. As far as I know he's been consistent with the players albeit unpopular with some fans. If he can keep it fair and impartial then he might be successful in getting some young men to consider their actions before doing something stupid. Otherwise he will have no credibility or respect in the league.

I'd like to see Vick come back and get his life sorted out. He screwed up big time but I'm hoping that he learned from it and that some team will be willing to give him another chance. He's got a hard road ahead of him to regain respect and to prove that he can perform.

Why is he popping off about Vick? It's none of his business.

It certainly is since he works in the same organization with a felon. That being said, I disagree with Owens on this as I believe Vick should be banned for life from the NFL.

And BTW, all these people claiming "paid his debt to society" that doesn't mean he automatically gets to act like nothing ever happened. Try to get a high profile job after serving time for robbing a bank. You won't find many opportunities, and what Vick did to those dogs is indicative of a potential murderer. Serial killers start off by torturing and killing amimals. I'm no leftwinger, but I hope PETA protests every game Micahel Vick suits up for.

Probably b/c a member of the esteemed media asked Terrell Owens about Michael Vick knowing they could exploit the answer...no matter what the answer. This b/c the one answer they're assured of NOT hearing is "no comment."

I have nothing against owens at all. people blame him because He speaks his mind. He's an easy scapegoat. Bottom line is he was proud to be a COWBOY and everybody blamed Him for OUR teams crappy play. it wasnt Owens fault at all. Hey, IDIOTS, throw the ball to the open WR. What now these guys on defense forgot to play because of OWens?

Blah....And the Comish is a perfect example of somebody that doesnt know how to handle power. Power trips, just like that little guy that gets the supervisor position and doesnt know how to handle it.

WOW man you are over doing it big time. Vick served his time, no need to keep at it. it's not affecting your life, nor is He running for a political position that will affect our way of life. He did bad things to dogs, but He lost everything. His job, His money probably his life. And now you want to keep HIm down even more.

if Vick has changed and wants to have a life after His mistake. I'm ok with it. If anything they should have Bush or some of these Thiefs and Money hungry poeple that control our country in Jail. The real criminals pay the price.

Not only should Goodell not suspend him further, he should force Buffalo to sign him and start him just to punish TO for running his mouth.
Now THAT would be poetic justice.

he has a second chance, he will play in the nfl if a team chooses to sign him.

But as stated in his CONTRACT, part of playing in the NFL is obeying the NFL rules.

It's like getting a dui. You got in trouble with the government and you could lose your job for it. That's no different then Vick's case. People say "the government punished him, he's done enough..."

Imagine you went to jail for 2 years, you would certainly lose your job for it. Part of playing in the NFL is complying with NFL rules, and the rules state an offense against the nfl conduct policy like his is a 4 game suspension. It shouldnt be that hard for people to get.
And yet it is just that hard. Heck, I've posted copies of the policy and provided links to it as well. Que sera sera I guess...

I'm glad TO is not with us because frankly this is not a subject I would want him talking about heading into training camp. I have a feeling if one of our current members was talking about Vick many around here would tell them to shut up.

I didn't see the interview so I'm wondering if TO said he would like to have Vick as his QB. I would think TO and Vick's 53% career completion passing would be great to watch.

I did not see the interview but I know if he were in Dallas I would want him to stay away from the topic because it has nothing to do with the job in front of the team. The next thing will be the media asking question to teammates and the coach on what TO said and their reaction. Vick and his people along with the Commissioner will deal with this.

hey hes right...i agree with T.O.

To me it is not an issue of TO being right or wrong it is the fact that it has nothing to do with the Bills as they are preparing for the season. TO could have just said I hope the best for Vick and hope he is allowed to play.

I think Vick believes the only way to "redeem" himself in the eyes of the public (aside from becoming a spokesman for PETA) is to get on a team and help that team win. I think that may drive him more than money. But someone has to give him a chance. I don't know whether a team is willing to do that, though.

We shall see.

I agree.

Welcome, Buffalo, to distractions and comments that have nothing to do with the team.

Welcome, Buffalo, to the new Dear Abby, T.O.

T.O. (and his sympathizers) STILL don't get it. The pattern has already been established, and it continues even in western New York. :(

The media asked him a question, he gave his opinion, what's the big deal?

I think Mike Vick shouldn't be suspended any further, the man did 2 years in Leavenworth!, but....................that's my OPINION, ...........everyone has one.
