who do you guys think are the best of all time? Troy/Emmitt/MI?.....or right now...Palmer/Johnson/Johnson?

You have to take Troy, Emmitt, and Michael over Palmer, Johnson, and Johnson.
I would take Staubach, Dorsett, and Pearson and also Manning, James, and Harrison over that Bengals three.

Roger/Duane Thomas/Bullett Bob
Roger/TD/Drew Pearson
Couple of pretty good ones there.

I wasnt trying to put them in the same category as the triplets...was just trying to think of anyone out there right now that could someday compete.....only one that stuck in my head. What about Montana/Craig/Rice?

In terms of potential, Leinart-James-Boldin (or Fitzgerald) could be great for years to come.

With James about to turn 28 and entering his eighth season, the clock is ticking with that trio. If they can gel quickly, I think they can get 3-4 years out of that group.

I think Irvin,Emmitt and Troy were the best...

How bout Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed

Not likely- it will take Leinart at least 2 seasons even if he is as good as Palmer. By then Edge will definitly be on the downhill slide. There are no young really good triplets out there now. Most teams that have the QB - he is not young or like Leftwich not yet proven. Palmer and maybe Roths are the only YOUNG ones that have shown a lot. Certainly little brother manning is not there= or even close. And the clock is ticking on Tiki.

Actually- the only place that MIGHT have the triplets is NO- they have Brees and Bush- now they need a top WR. Even if Bush is not there all the time Deuce is no slouch. They need a top WR now.

Its hard to say they are better than Aikman/Smith/Irvin based on Smith...Id say MOntana and Rice are superior to Aikman and Irvin, but Emmitt turmps Craig

Montana and Rice are over Aikman and irvin by a little but Emmit Smith tramples Craig....With that said I have to give the edge to the Cowboys.

Yes, I am a Cowboy fan, however, I would go with ANY trio that had 3 Super Bowls vs None.:starspin

I would put the top 3 at:

1. Aikman/Smith/Irvin
2. Montana/Craig/Rice
3. Bradshaw/Harris/Swann or Stallworth

Bradshaw was never all that much as a QB. Swann is not as good as stallworth was- but NEITHER of them really belong in the HOF if Drew is not in there. Bradshaw is the most over rated QB of all TIME.

I would say Montana was playing in a league of his own. Montana was much better then Aikman. Now Rice, named as the best WR of all time to which i can't agree wasn't a better WR then Irvin was IMO. But he was better when you take the long time he was one of the best WRs in the game.

Emmit was good/very good in alot of ways. Good runner, great vision, great blocker, good receiver. To me there was always a back who could do certain thigns much better then Emmitt (e.g. Sander was a way better runner but horrible at receiver). But not his abilities is what let people think Emmitt is the best back of all time it's his endurance. Craig wasn't a bad one either. But i would give this one to Emmit.

1. Montana >> Aikman
2. Rice > Irvin
3. Craig < Emmitt

But to compare these two trios IMO isn't just fair to both of them. So i would list them:

1. Montana/Rice/Craig == Aikman/Irvin/Emmitt

But when it comes down to one winner i'll take Montana/Rice/Craig. The advantage Montana and Rice gives this trio can't be equalized by Emmitt IMO.

I think Nameth is more overrated than Bradshaw.

How any one could say that a QB who won four Superbowls in four tries "was never all that much" is insane IMO. Terry Bradshaw was one heck of a QB, and even my hate for the Steelers can't change that fact.

Bradshaw was the LUCKIEST QB of all time- he played for one of the greatest teams - great D, O line, etc. You do remember that one reason Swann and Stallworth had to make SO MANY ACROBATIC catches is the lousy passes thrown their way. Bradshaw was also lucky in that he did not have to come from behind very often- because he was never better then average doing it.

It's hard to say really..both were great triplets, and both had similar success in terms of SB victories
