It is a team sport. Complimentary teams make deep runs in the playoffs. We do not have that.

GM Jerry believed and or still does believe the NFL is a passing league. This is why we can't run or stop the run.
There it is. Passing game is superb of course.:rolleyes:

The Bills had a HOF RB too named Thurman Thomas.

The 49ers had Jerry Rice (the best WR in NFL history).

Each of those teams had players opposing teams would try to slow down.

But the team with the better QB play in the playoffs; won those 7 playoff games.
When 8 men are in the box it makes the QB's job easier my friend.

Sometimes it's Dak's fault, sometimes it's not Dak's fault.

Just like sometimes it was Romo's fault and sometimes it was not Romo's fault.

For anyone trying to not blame Dak for anything, they are wrong.

For anyone trying to blame Dak for everything, they are also wrong.

It reeks of desperation...and frankly some insanity. Can't just address Dak...they have to muddy up one of our legendary players with their filth.
Well Landry had some great teams on the field as well you know. According to the logic of some, without them, his legacy would be trash, right?

Well hard to say.....what made those teams great? Did the players make the team great? Did Tom? Tex?

A bit of all of course but I think a true LEADER....both grim AND inspiring...had more to do with it than anything else.

Reds had GREAT players with Big Red Machine but Sparky "managed" it brilliantly.

and Pete bet on them brilliantly, lol. Well said. My whole point, though, was if somebody came in here and blasted off on Landry, they should be permabanned

What about the 1992 Bills with 10 pro bowlers including (4 all pros)?
What about the 1992 14-2 49ers with six pro bowlers on offense (with at least 2 first team all pros) including the NFL’s MVP Steve Young?

G Guy McIntyre
T Steve Wallace
TE Brent Jones
WR Jerry Rice
QB Steve Young
RB Ricky Watters

Serious Question

Why is Dak always absolved of any blame when it comes to his poor play. After every INT, its either the receiver ran the wrong route or didnt do enough to break the pass up (see both ints when targeting ceedee in the endzone). After every fumble in the pocket (Sacks are a qb stat). And the most frequent excuse is scheme and lack of weapons. Was this not the same scheme when he was 2nd in mvp voting last season?

Cowboys twitter is filled with posts like this one. This is now the third offense where Dak fans have casted blame on the scheme.

The last question I pose is, what supposed top-5 QB have you seen constantly given these excuses for poor play? If he is as good as yall say, shouldnt his talent be able to overcome a “bad scheme”?

For me, as someone who likes Dak, here's my situation. It's hard for me to gauge how much of his play is his fault and how much is Jerry's fault. To me, it's 85-90% Jerry's fault who I think set Dak up to fail. Sure, Dak should be hitting some of those throws better. However, we have no run game. In the NFL, you can't be one dimensional and be successful. As Tom Brady said the other day, when you get into the Redzone, you must be able to run the ball. Otherwise, you're trying to throw under 20 yards to receivers who are blanketed. All the dbs have to do with us is basically play goalkeeper in zone, and it's nearly impossible to get an open receiver.

So, most of the issue, imo, is team construction. Dak has some level that he can improve, but it's hard to gauge how much when he's been set up to fail this season.

I'm certainly no Dak fan, but how did last season end? Jerry chose to pay them more and run it back with less. How does that make sense? That's what we did after 2016, and how did that turn out? This is what happens when you don't do anything to make the team better in the off season.

If it was Romo in there, maybe he would keep up a little better, but we'd be no better than one of those 8-8 teams with him.

Romo would have had a broken neck by now, and I like Romo.

For the 1992 season, Steve Young (NFL’s MVP) and the 49ers had the #1 offense in the NFL.

Jim Kelly (and the Bills had a total of 10 pro bowlers) and the #2 offense in the NFL.

Jim Kelly and the Bills annihilated or overwhelmed the #2 and #3 defenses in 1992 + the 49ers.

The Bills K Gun offense was one of the best in NFL history.

Does Dak run the ball?

Does he play defense?

Dak should only have to throw 1 TD and 1 pick per game for 220 yards. Just like Troy Aikman.
No but, Dak fumbles the ball
No but Dak throws picks
Dak chokes against good teams
Dak puts the defense in a bind when he turns it over.
If the 240 million dollar man can't even score a touchdown the defense is screwed no matter what.

Going to tiptoe this comment but the way people talk about sports is very close to a cycle that happens every 2 to 4 years in November. They are stuck in their ways. No matter how much you show in favor or against, it just degrades to insults shortly after.

I don't think Dak is the main issue with the team. Jerry could of let him walk if he wanted to.
Dak has his limits. He's struggled at times vs certain defensive coverages.
But in the landscape of the NFL, he still is a good QB when comparing to all 32 starters.
