Questionable officiating last night

We didn't lose because of officiating but the officiating in the league is laughable and gives certain teams huge advantages. The 49ers thrashing us does not ignore that fact. If not for the refs, Burrow would have a superbowl. The chiefs constantly get favorable calls.

Certain teams get to hold all day, which makes it much easier for their offense. Certain teams get to play much more 'physical' on defense.

The reality is, nothing will change, so just take football as the entertainment that it is.

bad teams that make stupid decisions don't get the calls.

The complaining about officiating has been a ongoing thing for years and years.

It didn't start last night and won't stop with last nights game either.
And it’s pointless, human error is part of the game. To bring it up after your team got crushed comes off as being an excuse merchant. Want to complain after a close loss, it’s still pointless but at least it would make a little more sense.

That said I’ll admit the NFL has an officiating problem. My fix:
1. Full-time officials.
2. officiating grades released publicly after every week. Cumulative grades kept. Top crews get playoffs (no mixed crews). Worst graded officials get their walking papers. Player performance is laid bare so should officials’.
3. Allow black and white personal fouls to be reviewed. A face mask, horse-collar is or isn’t, that should be reviewable. Roughing the passer / p.i that are judgement calls shouldn’t. I think those just have to be subject to human error.

I agree with all those. With #3, I don't want the game slowed down though. It already is enough for no reason. Viewers can see instant replay and can see if it was a good call or not but it takes the refs forever sometimes.

Absolutely.

No penalty called for throwing Pollard out of bounds. 15 yarder and keeps the drive going as opposed to a 3 and out

That is why I hate playing SF. Their OL punched our player which should be an automatic ejection but isn’t given a warning.

Dallas stops SF on 3rd down. Penalty of Kearse for offsides … leads to 14-7 (not on the refs).

Dallas stops SF on 3rd. Penalty on Kearse for taunting … leads to 21-7. Kearse is given a warning
I agree with the point but Kearse was WAY WAY offsides.

While I thought the tackle of Pollard out of bounds was a penalty, it set the tone of the game for SF. But penalties called/not called in this game had no bearing on the outcome…this was a beatdown in every sense of the word. Dallas was not able to match the physicality/intensity of SF.
Dallas wasn't allowed to be as physical. That's the point. Nobody is saying the Cowboys would've won. They got dog walked and the officiating favored the Niners immensely. Two things can be true.

Heard it best from an active sec official I played with last week.

50% or the refs hate the marquis teams and 50% loves them. It’s the same with the cowboys. 49ers we’re allowed to hold and play after the whistle like wild animals while we get popped for any call that is 50/50.

When your owner, coach or team isn’t willing to speak on it or stick up for your teammates, what do you expect.

You mean like the criticism of the owner, HC, QB and on and on that I completely support and am on board with? Please try to keep up.
If any thing, this team is still playing strongly out a string of 12 win seasons 3 seasons in a row as good a win total as any 3 year period of any dynasty...grouped?

That was after Jerry Jones hired the current Head Coach and before that developed team has run the entire course of the race and given advantage of at least 3 real years at the rebuild process.

To throw out the window an objective view of observation and analysis, one could go straight at Mike McCarthy is incompetant as a leader and doesn't really solve problems with his quarterback Dak's ability to lead the team. That or Dak Prescott is just an incompetant plodder.

Jerry gave the team over to McCarthy before the start of the season. Nothing rests on him at present, but uncaring egos of fans living in an unguaranteed region for any team.

I don't find excuses to name call them, myself, but root for them without excuses as to base abilities. Don't like plays, player accountability, or talents...state those. Not whipping boys for disrespect instead of supporting my chosen team.

The complaints and disrespect are too plentiful to create the great migration from the earth blowing off...

I knew as soon as that Niner's player suplexed Pollard out of bounds that it was Dallas vs. 49ers/refs.

Yes, Dallas got wrecked and lost bad. No it wasn't because of refs at all, but come on. Don't some of you guys get tired of the slanted officiating? When players are suplexing and punching other players and there are no penalties, it's not right. The 49ers are the new darlings of the NFL with the Brock Purdy story, so they get the benefit of the doubt I'm sure.

I know it's fun to blame the refs, but losing 42-10, all attention should be focused on the poor play of the team. We weren't a bad call here or there away from winning this game.

But staying on topic for a moment, the real issue isn't officiating, it's discipline. I took a look at the numbers, and it is pretty staggering.

Here is where we rank in the league in penalties per game under McCarthy:

2023 - 25th
2022 - 23rd
2021 - 32nd
2020 - 25th

Last 4 under Jason Garrett
2019 - 17th
2018 - 12th
2017 - 11th
2016 - 15th

This is a massive change. Are some of these poor calls? Sure. But the biggest issue is our sloppy play.

No we need to focus on the officials too. Allowing them to tilt games undermines the integrity of the game. When they can literally control games like they did in the Rams vs. Bengals superbowl, there is a problem. They literally marched the Rams down the field for a free score in that game. What's utterly disgusting is when the refs wait to see if a play panned out or not for a favored team and if it doesn't, then they throw a flag.

When you have situations like this like the Saints vs Rams, it's a huge problem:

Losers always blame the refs.
Agreed. Refs missed some calls for sure, but the ones they called on us were certainly dumb and legit penalties, so no excuses there.

Also, the refs aren't the reason we lost by 32 lol

i dunno, we sure have had our share of dumb penalties, but we can have games of a handful of penalties, then face a team like the raiders then boom like 15 penalties doing the same things.
