Yeah, look at all those rings on Moss' fingers.

All of this Moss/Ellis comparison is moot.

Had the Cowboys not had character problems, they would have certainly drafted Moss. Had Moss not had character issues, he would certainly have gone prior to the 8th pick.

Would Jerry have made a trade to move up to get him, seeing that we were in need of a playmaking wide receiver at the time? Maybe.

But, the circumstances made it more than a Moss/Ellis pick as if it was an "objective" choice between the two, because it wasn't.

We blast JJ if he takes the low character guy. We blast him if he doesn't. JJ can't win.

Majeed: Give me your take on the Fins decision to pass up on Brady Quinn?

sn2.gif
Floyd Reese: I think there are several issues. A large number of teams did not have him rated as high as some of the public. After Miami passed on him there were a number of teams that had their selections in their sights or were not getting enough in a trade. So what happens is that the teams interested in trading keep talking while the player keeps falling.

Hmmm....

Please remember that it's the month of December that counts... even Bill said you are who you are in that month... Romo choked... Teams caught onto his game and figured out ways to shut him down...

Now Brady on the other hand, is just GREAT.. teams still have a hard time figuring out to keep him out of the game.. in his first year he took the PATS to the SB and kept climbing, Romo on the otherhand is someone I can see on VH1 in 10 years "remember the 2000's" 2006.. "TONY ROMO... ROMO THIS ROMO THAT, MOXIE THIS" in other words... a big time Fluke...

Look at the weapons that Romo has on this offense... the reason Bledsoe couldn't do it was because of his immobilty.. Romo has that but still can't produce...

I have a strong feeling that by Thanksgiving, Brad Johnson will be our QB to help us ride into the playoffs with a 6th seed, since the change will be made at the point of no return because of the bad situation that Romo has put us in...

This would not happen with Bill at the HELM, but he's not here anymore, its JJ's show. He will have his eyes on QB's all next draft.. Now hear this.. MAYBE JJ wanted to get Quinn, but was waiting LITERALLY until the last possible minute to draft him in case of Trade Calls, which is what we got... JJ wanted a first rounder however and Cleveland were the only ones to give it to us, in the back of JJ's mind was that another number 1 will give us a FRANCHISE QB.. Jerry loves these, and is tired of the "replacement of Aikman Saga"

So that's what he did, Spencer has Wade written all over it, Wade's theory is destroy QB's... which is what his players do.... Get ready guys...

I feel that Romo will sit and we will have a new QB in 08... Romo doesn't sit well with me, hasn't shown enough at all for people here to be backing him up this much in my opinion..

What if Bledsoe had a strong half of the season and then choked.... more INTS then TD's... would you ROMO LOVERS still be loving him? I dont think so, I have a feeling that you guys are backing him up because its OUR team that you want to have high hopes for...

Lets be honest, if Philly, skins, giants had Romo, you guys would be bashing him...

Can anyone back me up on this?

I feel a lot of built up anger in you...

We are all over Romo because he has been the 1st bright spark at the QB position since Aikman.

This guy is going around spreading his awful cheer to other threads as we speak.

Apparently he didn't like ANY of our picks besides Spencer either.

Oh, I love the Spencer pick. And the offensive linemen and the kicker. What's not to like about building the best line in the NFL along with the best defensive line... and adding a kicker that will give you great field position on a consistant basis?

I seriously believe that's what we're doing.... Then, we have TO, Romo, Glenn, Witten, Fasano and Crayton. C'mon. This team is ready to go right now.

And we've got some athletes at WR that can sort of be our Antwan Randal El... and a FB...and a couple of really, really fast corners.

What's not to like?

We did well. We didn't have great needs this year. And we filled some holes while stocking up for next year.

I'd say it was a good day at the office. Grade A due to the 2 1st rounders we'll have next year.

I am with you man.

I love the current state of our team and the 2 1st round picks next year are great insurance policies for Romo, our OTs, and future WR needs.

We were stacked going into next year Pre-Draft and Spencer with the depth only makes us more stacked.

Is it September yet?

Wade Phillips is going to have 'ol Matt eating Crow casserole.

This is the year that we make a serious run; deep into the playoffs.

If you don't believe me just ask Hos.

Smarta, my man, i'm with you as well. We're setting the stage to have a team that is going to be a fierce competitor for a long time. I think our front office has done a very great job. Particularly in the scouting department, et cetera.

We're finally legit. Teams better start recognizing this.

Tell me, where is there a glaring weak spot on our team?

Weak Spot =
The OL is still Average at best
DL - Not really getting anything yet from these guys
Safety - FS still hasn't been addressed, how do we know that Hamlin is the answer.
Sure Roy hits hard but can he cover?
Not all of the linebackers looked that great vs Detroit..
QB - your satisifed with more INTs than TD's in the month of December?
FB if you want to add more.

Last year it was the trenches...

I am hoping this 1 year of maturation and the acquisition of Davis eliminates that hole.

As for the defensive line I think Wade was the answer to sure that up. Spears has thrown Parcells under the bus for his methods and now speaks with such positive energy on the changes that will happen.

We needed another pass rusher, that was handled.

Besides that some would say FS, IMO Watkins will be ready to step up, if not, we got Hamlin for a reason.

So as long as injuries don't hit us and Romo can drive the bus there really isn't a glaring weakness.

How did Romo choke in the Detroit game? Wasn't it Romo that led that 4th quarter TD drive? Wasn't it Romo that led that 2nd drive down to the 1 yard line?

How did Romo choke in the Atlanta game? Wasn't it Romo that led that 4th quarter drive that sealed the game?

Oh, but there's surely the Seattle game. What a choke-job by Romo. After the defense and Terry Glenn managed to turn a 7 point 4th quarter lead into a 1 point deficit in a matter of 35 seconds, it was Romo who lead, once again, a 4th quarter comeback drive, only to have Jason Witten run his route just an inch too short.

But yeah, blame Tony Romo. Blame him for a defense that gave up an average of 30.6 points per game in the final 5 games. Blame him for being a first year starter trying to single-handedly carry a team down the stretch because the defense had completely given up.

Blame Romo for teams shutting him down.

I mean, after all, they really shut him down in those final games.

What with him putting up 66/119, 930 yards, 6 TDs, and 4 INTs for a QB rating of 83.7 in the final 4 games.

Yeah, they really shut him down. I mean, those numbers would only be enough to make him what? The 4th best starting QB in the NFC? As a 1st year starter?

If that's the downside of Tony Romo, for chrissakes, I don't want to know how you reacted with Quincy Carter at the helm.

-Um, measurable improvement over Bledsoe. We've added Leonard Davis and drafted a few. If Rivera goes, that will be a blessing, in my opinion.

-If Ellis returns healthy. The d-line will flourish under Wade Phillips.

-And not getting anything?? Seriously, you're not qualified.

-So they didn't look good against Detroit. One game... and you've made a point, in the grand scheme of things, eh?

-The team had a meltdown that began with the coaching staff. Parcells goofed up. Any coach knows that you don't have your starting QB holding an extra point. He's got enough going through his mind.

It's not our personnel. I was a HUGE Parcells fan. Now I couldn't be happier that he is gone. He is way to stubborn of a man to win playoff games in today's, more innovative, NFL.

This isn't a smashmouth league so much anymore.

Wade will change everything. We've got some of the best personnel in the league.

How many people viewing this thread agree/disagree?

I'm curious to know what the fan base thinks about this.

My guess is that most would tend to disagree with Matt.
