I’m not a huge fan of Lewis’s cover ability. I do like his tackling and attitude.
Either way we need depth. Cant trust joseph and wright hasnt developed so far. If tgey hadnt taken a shot with bland they'd be screwed.

With a DOMINANT D it is so much easier for the offense to be consistent. It won’t need to take as many chances.
Agree with you that a dominant defense takes some pressure off of the offense to score points so Dak doesn’t have to press; but my point was that I think consistency on defense is just as, if not more so, than dominance. It doesn’t do Dallas any good to be a shut down defense one week and then get gashed the following week. I think we saw that to a certain extent this past season.

Quinn coming back is GIGANTIC!!

We will have the same scheme. The players are familiar with it. Quinn can make small tweaks, here and there, to improve it!

Our D was very good in the playoffs. With a few strong pieces, I believe our D could become TRULY DOMINANT!!!! DOMINANT Defense has won a lot of Superbowls. Possibly hire a new OC and use Dak as a true Bus Driver! No, 5 receiver sets. Don’t overly relia on Dak! Relia on the DOMINANT D!!!!!

To become DOMINANT on D( Jerry has actually done this before. He should be desperate to do it again):
1. We need another dominant DE or TWO! (see Charles Haley move) Micah will not be playing DE all the time. Maybe, Sam Williams will step up his game. He has the physical talent, but does he have the attitude, and will to win, like Micah?
2. Upgrade at DT with a HUGE run stuffer or TWO. Possibly, Joseph and Suh will be available.
3. Find the best CB possible!( see Deon Sanders move) My 1st choice would be Jalen Ramsey!

Just think about this D:
Diggs and Ramsey at CB with Bland in the slot( + great depth )

Dominant DE( to be named later ) with an improved Sam Williams and improved Armstrong. Micah gains 20 pounds and rushes from everywhere, or plays more LB and rushes selectively( many options with Micah).

Hankins, Suh, and Joseph( or 2 other big run stuffers )

This offseason we need to use every tool available to build a DOMINANT D( the draft, free agency, and trades). The moves mentioned above, still leave plenty of draft picks to upgrade in other areas.

Build the D STRONGER and don’t relia on Dak as much.

If our D was a little stronger this year, even with Dak’s bad play, we could have beat the Whiners 9-12!!!

We are not that far from a DOMINANT D if a few good moves are made!!!!!
I respect your dreams about getting this defense to the top of the league but the defense is already good enough to win a Super Bowl. Parsons and company will get better with experience. The Joneses will dumpster dive and bring in some reinforcements along with player development for guys like Clark, Cox, Bohanna, ect. I believe the Cowboys think the issue with this team is the running game. I think fans are going to hate this but I think the Cowboys will resign Pollard, draft another guard tackle in the first round like Tyler and draft a running back in the first three rounds that can take Zeke’s spot. Keep in eye out for Pierce of the Texans types at the combine. I think they will make a trade for a receiver like Brandon Cooks who would fit in with CeeDee and Gallup. Finally 8 of those 10 draft picks are making the roster.

Well we have learned that in spite of a quality defense Dak blows the game so what's the point?

All I'd do for the offence is upgrade the offensive line and running back position. Dak wants 40 million then he can carry the offence.

I'd invest heavily in the defence because Quinn knows what to do with the talent he's given. Our only chance to win a super bowl with MM, KM and dak is for us to have an elite D.

You probably don’t understand this, but both can be responsible for the loss. Of course the O was more responsible, but the D had some responsibility too.
I place zero responsibility on the d for that game. 6 points came off of turnovers. If dak doesn't throw that second pick that's a 6 or 10 point swing. The def gave up 13 points. That's possibly a 15 - 13 win.

Jerry’s problem is he’s an optimist. He always believes in best case scenarios instead of preparing for worst case. The best GMs don’t assume everything and everyone that was good last year, will be good next year. Good GMs always work on getting better and never assume everything that was good last year will be next year too.

He also over-values the talent he drafts. We have drafted well the past few years but JJ has a hard time letting go of players he has a sentimental spot for. Like Zeke. Like Dez Bryant (which he was forced to let go) Like Tyron Smith whose time has come and gone.

Hate to say it, but great GMs have to be cold blooded. Great players don’t always stay great. The best GMs see it before they lose a step. Jerry waits until it’s obvious to everyone. That KILLLS us.
Tyron has value to this team still

Need to add at DT and LB depth. Defense really isn’t the issue.

Gotta add on offense
Again, many fans don’t understand what a dominant defense means, not a good defense that gives up 20 points, but a dominant defense.
We are only a few pieces from a truly dominant D. With a dominant D the offense does not need to take risky chances. A dominant D is great for a QB like Dak. He will not need to make near as many plays. He won’t need to throw the ball as much. We won’t need to go for it on 4th as much.We will trust our D to shut down the other team!!!!

Yeah, the path forward for this team is to look like a ground a pound defense first group, not the Chiefs. Regardless of the QB pay.

Priorities should be: DT, RB, OL

I suspect that Dallas is going to go all in on a WR that they don't throw to though.

Your short sided and don’t understand how a truly dominant D helps the offense. You can win Superbowls with a ball control offense that has a bus driver as the QB, Dak. Look at Dan Quinn’s Seattle Defense that dominated Payton Manning and his highest scoring offense of all time.

Wake up! We are so close to a dominant D. Let Quinn have the resources to add a few pieces!!!!

We truly could be “the Legend of Boom 2.O!!!!

I agree.
A dominant D is consistent. This D was not as consistent as it needed to be. With Quinn back tweaking his scheme and a few key additions our D can be consistent and DOMINANT!!!

Many different type teams have won Superbowls.

With the DC we have, the defensive players we have, the weapons we have or don’t have on offense and Dak as our QB, I think the BEST chance we have to win the Superbowl is with a dominant D and Dak as a bus driver, that does not need to make to many plays!!!!

Agreed! Like to see the same thing as well. Hoping Dallas can get the DL and LB positions upgraded/solidified and add depth to CB position.

They need the defense to be as good as it was in 2022.
- More than that is icing on the cake.
- That would be much easier if they acquire a legit big-time DT like Daron Payne.

The big improvement needed is on offense.
- They have a very high win rate with Dak when the running game is effective and the defense limits the opponent running game.
- The run game in 2022 was hit or miss. Pollard had good stats due to big runs, but in many games they couldn't run effective when it was most needed.

Well I think differently but you certainly may be right. All I hear now is that the rules are slanted to the Offense
