save his thread Hos...and let's see the relevence of now 178 posts around the half-way point of this season

We got a 3rd WR battle, a RT battle, SOLB battle, a FS battle, a FB battle but this...

An exercise in futility

Oh rest assured it'll be brought up ... but what I find funny is that if Henson put up Romo's #'s we'd be hearing a bunch of "in your face suckers" from the Henson jock-riders ...

Two way street.

Right, but lets hold back be for we annoint anybody captain just yet ... hope is what it is ... hope ...

I hope a lot of things ... but you've got to keep things in perspective ...

My guess is he's going to let these guys battle it out ... if one of them performs extra poorly ... then he's out of here ... if they both hold their own, they both stay ...

Just because we have both guys here though, doesn't mean they'll be here at the end of the season ... and I understand it doesn't mean they won't be ...

I just think he got it out there in the open ... play at the NFL level or I know someone that can ...

If you're playing bad, you're playing bad ... no need to sugar coat things ...
I haven't said he's playing good Ben. You're way ahead of yourself and off the path.

May the best man win

And like last year, what happens now may very well no bearing on what may happen later this year @ the 2 and 3 QB positions

Unless Bledsoe gets hurt, all the positions I've listed in my last post in this thread will actually see the field and have a bearing on this season's outcomes

I see someone has found a cause celebre that rivals the old QC threads.

The history of this kid is significant. He was away from the game for three years. He didn't play two full years of college ball as a starter.

So the time it takes to assimilate the pro game shouldn't be counted in two off-seasons and one season on the bench.

Orson Wells was famous for uttering the Gallo mantra..."We will serve no wine until it's time."

How about, we will judge no Henson until he gets it?

I love the what if scenario. But at some point I realise it's theory and come back to reality.

But let's play!

What if Ware is a bust?

What of Roy Williams leaves the game after five years as he said he would?

What if Canty's retina detaches again?

What if Spears is a reoccuring knee issue and never lives up to his potential?

What if Julius is a one-hit wonder?

This game can go on and on.

But in all those cases, a proper amount of time must pass before we can answer any of these what ifs with any type of intelligence.

What if people with agendas weren't so blatant about their true goals when they post what if scenarios on messageboards?

Actually, come to think of it...

What if they didn't have sig lines that spelled it out in three inch letters?

Yeah, what if ...

Asking questions is better than burying your head in the sand.

The back up spot is an issue ... like I've already said ... make it into something it's not if it makes you feel better ... but there is an issue ... and at least we could discuss it w/o people like yourself getting their feelings hurt.

What if you're crying too much ... because the guy you have an agenda for is stinking it up ...

What if you're trying to divert the topic from what it was meant to be because you're bitter about your boy ...

What if we need to "snap out of" this homeristic thinking ...

What if your reality isn't real ...

What if?

Are you insinuating that a sig with Henson on a Joker card doesn't have ANYTHING to do with Texas Hold 'em??? That it is, in fact, some sort of 'agenda symbolism'??? Why, that's... that's just crazy talk!

Great post, TooDeep3.

Great post, TooDeep3.

It is symbolism. I admit that freely. But it represents the other side of the homeristic Henson spectrum ... to keep things in perspective ...

How much "intelligence" does it take before we spend 5 years "developing" a guy who can't beat out Tony Romo?

If that's the case, the other side of the 'homeristic Henson spectrum' must be more detached of the quarterback situation.

'They' do not display sig of Henson 'sitting on a throne' on a 'King card'. Or flaunt sigs of Bledsoe or Romo as a 'dunce' on a 'two card'.

But, personal expression is a right, after all. :)

You've got to know
When to hold 'em,
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away,
Know when to run.
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done.

I guess you haven't read as many posters as I have comparing him to Aikman and Staubach ...:

All I'm asking is to know when you've got a good hand and when you should fold or at least not bet all your chips on a Joker ...

Some of these homers get a 2 7 off-suit and play it like they've got a pair of aces ...

So yeah ... know when to hold 'em ... know when to fold 'em ...

You're not as slow as I once thought ... coming along quite nice actually ...

Props ...

He beat him out last year. As far I can tell, the competition is still open this year.

I'm glad the coaching staff and front office doesn't make rash decisions after a week of practice.

So, if he can't beat out Tony Romo ... we still fill a roster spot with him?

Sure, if the coaching staff thinks he is worth developing.
