This all falls back on the thing that pissed me off to no end at the beginning of the season. Romo should have had 16 games starting under his belt. There's no reason, after that pre-season, that anything else should have taken place. bye bye Bill...

Because Bledsoe played terribly in PreSeason?

Other than your magic 8-ball telling you so, why was there any reason to Bench Bledsoe after his preseason play?

My point is you said losing in the playoffs is not good enough

you said Not winning superbowls isnt good enough

You then say changing our entire staff and schemes makes the team better

Yet you admit yourself a doubt that we go any farther next year than we did this year

My point being staying in the same system gave us a BETTER shot next year, since the best you, yourself reasonably expect is the same thing we did this year even with a new staff

You're still resting your conclusions upon "keeping the current regime in place". There's no guarantee either way next year. It's all idle speculation. I prefer to look at the facts Bill and his staff have comprised in Dallas.

34-32
zero playoff wins
4 years.

After 4 years if the next HC hasn't gotten us a playoff win (and some) I will be calling for his head too if, and only if, he's sitting rightaround a .500 record like manboobs. If he shows progression every year and we're not fading down the stretch I am squarely in his corner.

Hold on are you seriously trying to give credit for romo to someone who's name you dont even know?

We didnt run Lee's scheme we ran Parcells and its Parcells scheme that he excelled in

Whoops David. Sorry.

Parcells and Lee both deserve credit. Bill didn't birth Romo. Are you saying Lee had nothing to do with the growth of Romo while he sat on the bench and waited his turn?

According to you even with change we will do no better next year than we did this year.

Keeping the current staff with some tweaks (DC) would have given us a BETTER shot at winning in the playoffs next season.

You already admitted changing will not make us win, Continuity would have given us a better shot

Bledsoe wasn't going to take us anywhere. It took Bill a few weeks to realize that. Romo had a scorching preseason. Scorching. Bill himself stated "I plan on working Romo in at QB sometime this season". Are you telling me Bledsoe would have taken us to the promise land? The Statue himself? :lmao:

Did I say that?

Lee taught Parcells scheme to Romo and helped him with mechanics

But like it or not it was Parcells scheme in which Romo excelled in, changing it IS a risk

What was that you were saying? Sorry. I had wax in my ears yesterday. Could you repeat it for me? Gotta love the self proclaimed thread police. Is that like "Citizens on Patrol"?

Parcells resigning doesn't make your thread any less stupid.

I disagree. Bill had taken us as far as he was going to take us. Getting new blood into this system and purging the Parcells mode of thought from the coaching staff will take this team to the next level.

Sure. Everything is a risk. Signing Parcells was a risk.

Bledsoe played as well as Romo there is no denying that not using the last game where Bledsoe only played one drive Bledsoe threw for more TDs and less INTs in 2 games than Romo did in 3 games

Bledsoe was taking us nowhere. The 50 year old Bill would have started Romo in week 1.

You already said this was not true for NEXT YEAR

You plainly said we will not win in the playoffs next year, therfore we are not improved for next year we would have had a better shot next year with the current staff

Are we better off for 5 years from now? Who knows we dont have a coach, but no matter who is hired we arent better off for next year IMO

Says........

Your magic 8 ball again?

Fact is, Romo did not outplay Bledsoe in preseason play.....that is why Bledsoe started.

No he wouldnt have.

With a team you think is playoff worthy

If you have a vet with playoff experience

VS

an undrafted guy who has never started a game

AND both play the same (good) in preseason

99 out of 100 coaches go with the vet its common sense

We can agree to disagree if you'd like. I'm confident in Jerry. I'm confident we will not see another Dave Campo. Jerry is going to get aggressive. This team will be in the playoffs next year. 90% of the pieces are in place. They just need some fiery, creative, no holds barred leadership. That was Bill 15 years ago.

Did you and I both watch the same sack happy Bledsoe in weeks 1-3 or was I watching the Wyoming Cowboys?

Jones? Jerry Jones?

Ok we make the playoffs DO WE WIN? Otherwise it is no better than this year and we would have been better keeping the original staff

The idea of changing was to make us better right? Now you are saying we will be the same

YOU are the one that said Parcells was an idiot for not starting Romo 16 games

That means he should have started week 1

So no I was not able to see weeks 1-3 during the preseason since you know they hadnt occured yet.

Dont change the source of your arguments it was Parcells was dumb for not starting him the whole way which as was shown would have been a stupid decision to make based on Bledsoes preseason

I know this is hard for you to understand....but we'll try this again....

In Preseason.....Bledsoe outplayed Romo. Therefore, basing his decision on Bledsoe's good performance in PRESEASON, Parcells went with Bledsoe.

Unless you are trying to argue that Parcells should have consulted your magic 8-Ball to determine how Bledsoe would play BEFORE THE GAME, your point is irrelevant.

Pulling your starting QB after one week would have been stupid, so Parcells let Bledsoe ride. And in week 2, he played better and we won....
