Not many coaches would've went to Brady over Drew Bledsoe....
You could argue the Cowboys did the same thing with Dak/Romo. No Dak does not have the career Brady had but at the time the Pats didn't know Brady would either. Does that make Jason Garrett a legendary coach or Jerry who actually made the decision an all time great decision maker? No. They just went with the hot hand that was winning and so did Belichick.

What happened to Landry once he did not have a good QB?
Shula
I could go on but why bother trying to teach those who do not wish to learn?
Shula went to the Super Bowl with David Woodley at QB.. May want to leave him off that list. Joe Gibbs won three Super Bowls with three different QBs. Some coaches just know how coach up what they got ... And frankly Landry was never without a good QB. Danny White was still good even as the team was rebuilding. Landry's undoing was when his defenses stopped being good.

Does Quinn get a phone call.
If I am their owner that's the first call I make.
I will dig a hole in the backyard, jump in it and bury myself.
How is that possible? He’s in the middle of a coaching season. I doubt he’d even want to go to that dumpster fire.

I mean if Jason Garrett had 5 rings then yeah I would agree he was one of the best coaches of all time for going with Dak over Romo. But he's missing those 5 rings hell he's missing simple playoff wins....

I can't believe that McDaniel's even got another chance in Las Vegas in the first place. Is this the final nail in his NFL career?

Shula went to one SB that way. Big deal. Joe Gibbs I will give you that. bottom line is that unless you have a great D you need a very good at least QB to go anywhere.

The NFL is the epitome of the good ol boy club. The Rooney rule was a way to make it look better but in the end means nothing.
The owner gets the GM he likes and is comfortable with and the GM gets the coach he likes and is comfortable with and thus the good ol boys will usually look for good ol boys before trying anyone new

Bring David Ziegler in for a look. At least kick the tires and see if there’s any tread left. He can’t be any worse than what we have now.
Have you even watched those raiders?

Long overdue. McDaniel was a product of Brady and Belicek’s success
..yep, system coach in NE.

He's had two opportunities. It doesn't forebode well, towards HC stints.

I also see him calling Billyboy for a job.

I gotta admit, McDaniels was one of the guys I was hoping for when Garrett got fired. Im still not sold on McCarthy, but he's at least far and above McDaniels. I really thought Josh McDaniels was gonna get it right his second time around as a HC, but obviously not.
McDaniels is a worst coach than Garrett and that's saying something.

Laughable hire from the start. No idea why anyone would hire that clown after what he did in Denver.

should have tried to fleece Adams but we like our guys
Dallas or really any team probably couldn't afford what it would have taken to trade for Adams even at a fleece deal. Plus his salary would be quite a bit to take on for this year and a team would have to hang on him to at least next season at a big cap hit. The idea to get Adams sounds great, the reality to actually get him just doesn't work.

The Raiders need a culture changer.

With what is happening with Michigan, the timing may be right for Jim Harbaugh.

Coincidentally, his first coaching job was the Raiders QB coach in 2002.

The funny thing is that people here will be taking shots at McDainels. Most coaches and GMs need between 5-7 years to establish the identity of a team-but teams give you only 1-3 years (except for the Cowboys) before pressing the reset button-which can cause a long cycle of terrible teams.

That’s my theory as to why the Cowboys can never seem to get over the hump. No full resets, so no chance of significant increase/decrease performing for the most part. They just cycle towards the middle. And I believe the front office is aware and completely back the goal of never falling to the terrible side of the spectrum even with the thought that it might eventually help the team achieve the greatest success. Aim to the middle or upper middle.
