Ramsey playing corner

Plenty of rookies contribute right away. Jones had a great season. Sure the is a learning curve but jack can come in day one and cover. Lee will have him in the right spots. Ramsey can come in and cover but there isn't a player in the draft that you can say will be all pro day one.

Elliot or a running back yes but would you trust blitz pickup?

DBs usually get hammered as rookies. Even high picks. There are exceptions, but you cant bank on an excpetion.

Jack will come of the field in Dime with Lee still out there, taking him off the field on our most crucial downs. Ramsey and Jack would be picks aimed toward the future. As any pick should be

Again, if the idea is to "win now", did Jones do much that made us any closer to winning games? No. He played well and is looking to be a great pick.

Ramsey would give you Jones plus, at best.

As for Elliott, he is getting praise as one of the best PB prospects in years, so yes.

Lol ok keep telling yourself that

As of now my top 5 are

1. Tunsil

2. Jaylon Smith

3 Ramsey

4. Wentz

5. Spence

I know that is not the conventional list you will see but I think these 5 currently have the most upside.[/qu
Tunsil may be #1 but for us and our OL I don't think he'd be an option even if he were available at #4. I'd be leery of Smith at 4 with his injury.

I know Spence is rising and is battling Bosa for top DL/OLB spot. Wentz is vying with Goff for top QB. Ramsey would be in the top 5 but concern is he is a great athlete but hasn't dominated at one spot. Some have as a CB while others project him at safety.

Jack is an every down back. Him and Lee would be killer in those 3rd and long we seem to always give up

I think we'll see Claiborne walk, Carr take a big pay cut, Ramsey drafted, and hope that Scandrick comes back healthy.

Jones will move to FS.

If they see Ramsey as a CB then it does fill a need. Don't see spending a high pick on a safety assuming jones plays safety since that would mean back to back top picks on safety
I would rather sign a fa CB myself and draft a QB but I think you may be right that the team is leaning that way

3rd and long we will probably be in 4-1-6 leaving Jack off the field. He isnt getting passing down snaps at the expense of Lee

Jack replaces Church in nickel packages. You want Jack on the field, playmaker.

Dime packages would be interesting. You might keep Jack over one of our poor-covering safeties.

I dont see them playing 2 LB's in dime at the expense of a DB. Not saying they shouldnt, but I dont see them doing it. If they sit Church on Dime, it will be for Heath or a CB

DE Demarcus Lawrence
DT David Irving
DT Tyrone Crawford
DE Randy Gregory

LB Sean Lee

SS J.J. Wilcox
FS Byron Jones
DB Myles Jack

CB Hopefully not Brandon Carr
CB Orlando Scandrick
NB Hopefully not Morris Claiborne

In this senario we have no CBs outside Scandrick and a LB playing as a DB. Dont care how good Jack was in coverage at UCLA, he isnt an NFL coverage safety. That sub set gets gashed by NFL offenses

If they plan to use Jack to cover the slot in dime and nickle, they better figure out how to run zone. He is going to get eaten alive by NFL receivers in the slot.

I know I contributed, but how did this thread even become about Jack?!

I love how this rookie who has not even played a full four seasons of NCAA ball is expected to come in, and from day one pick up all these cool and neat-O responsibilities.

I won't even get into the utter hilarity of Marinelli and Co. trying to make that happen.

Jack is this week's Ramsey, who was last weeks Treadwell, who was Wentz from three weeks ago

Until we know more about Smith's rehab, I couldn't rank him in the Top 5. He didn't have your run of the mill ACL injury. His injury was much worse although from reports, the surgery was a complete success.

If the Doctors think he will make a full recovery, I think he ends up being one of he five best players to come out of this draft.
