Could you link some articles calling him the best corner in the draft? I have read proclamations he might be the best DB, but most of what I read has projected him back to safety.

I dont have anything like that. What I did see was 3/4 of the scouts asked about him thought he would be drafted to play corner. Maybe people are inferring if you are the first corner taken you are the best corner. I myself am not married that theory.

If you are talking Elliot they say he excels at that. Pretty much everything else too.

I wouldnt think a HB wouldnt be rated as highly if he wasnt a 3 down player. I thought Gordon was a huge reach last year for that reason

3rd and long we will probably be in 4-1-6 leaving Jack off the field. He isnt getting passing down snaps at the expense of Lee

He is better then Lee in coverage and is way more faster. Lee has play recognition for sure but Jack excels at coverage

Play recognition is whats important at that LB spot. Lee has proven to excel at one are in coverage that this team lacks, creating turnovers. If it comes down to leaving Lee or a rookie LB on the field in those 1 LB sets, its gonna be Lee even over a rookie with Jacks coverage skills

How many turnovers did Lee create this year? And yes Lee would take the spot at beginning of season but jack has the coverage skills and speed. Don't matter if you know what play it is if your aren't fast enough to get there. ....plus you keep Lee much more healthy if he isn't on the field as much. I could actually see jack actually taking over church spot in some passing situations

He's had two 4 INT seasons in his career, 1 in which he only played 11 games. They arent sitting Lee on passing situations for a rookie and no matter what he did in college Jack isnt coming into the NFL as a better coverage backer then Lee no matter how fast is. He might be a yearnor two down the road, but if you expect him to be a better coverage than Lee immediately you are expecting way too much. And not saying Church is any good, but he needs to be replaced in the dime by a DB, not am LB. Jack can man up Pac 10 players, but he he isnt ready to man up NFL WR's and TEs from the safety spot in the NFL right now. Right now at Safety he would definitely be a run safety. Thats gonna take time for him to develop into a coverage safety in the NFL if thats what your asking him

If you judge him solely as a corner, he is not the best corner.

The only way he scores points is if you look at him like Byron Jones.

Little of this, little of that. Hard to make an impact that way.

That is not top 5.

If the idea is to "win now", taking this player is not going to accomplish that goal.

So why does everyone list him as the top CB?
Show one evaluation where Hargraves is the higher rated CB....I haven't seen it yet. While sites mention he has position flexibility, none have him listed with the safeties.

Again, if the idea is to "win now", did Jones do much that made us any closer to winning games? No. He played well and is looking to be a great pick.

Ramsey would give you Jones plus, at best.

As for Elliott, he is getting praise as one of the best PB prospects in years, so yes.
BS...he isn't even rated as highly as Gurley

Then you're not looking:

http://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/20...-draft-prospects-jalen-ramsey-scouting-report

And a great breakdown of why he is a better safety:
http://www.bleedinggreennation.com/...niversity-cornerback-eagles-nfl-draft-profile

He has the potential to develop into a good, maybe great corner. However, he comes in day one as a starter and playmaker at safety. I honestly like him better at SS than I do at FS. I don't buy into this notion that you need a huge thumper at SS. Ramsey would be a force covering TE's and jumping routes in the box. When you go back and look at his tape, he is much more instinctive and less reactive when he is at safety. When he can see the whole field and the play developing, he gets into the incredibly fast. At corner, however, he plays much more re-actively and has even shown a propensity to stand around and watch when the ball isn't coming at him.

Hargreaves may not have as much upside, versatility or athleticism as Ramsey, but he is hands down the best pure corner in the draft, by a very wide margin. When I am looking at corners, I am looking at tape and production. Hargreaves tape jumps off the screen. His production is second to none. The fluidity in his turns is exceptional and his ability to find the ball quickly and high point it is shocking at times. He's even shown the awareness to break off his zone and cover/defend/pick off a pass intended for someone in a completely different area of the field. He didn't finish with a boom and this time of year is all about workout warriors, which he isn't, but when people get back into the tape, Hargreaves will jump back up draft boards.

The only way I wouldn't take Hargreaves top-10 and call him the best corner, is if the rumors are true and he measures in <5'10". He needs to hit that 5'10" mark to keep that status.

Hargreaves is a more risk averse, but better tactical version of Janoris Jenkins--with more man-to-man ability.

I think Jack at SS can guard nfl tight ends well. Certainly better than Church or Wilcox ever did.

Negative. ....how many turnovers did Lee have this year. Don't care about his career im talking about this year since you said Lee gets so many turnovers.

You need to watch jack he can without a doubt come in and be a coverage LB from day 1. He can stick with RBs, TEs or WRs. But anyways I'm done, go watch him

The more I watch the more I'm convinced he is the pick.

He is really what teams are looking for and he'll come at a bargain of the price because of his rookie contract.

Not the pick I would make but it's clear this will be our pick if he is there and I think he is the best defensive talent in this draft.

The only thing that could stop this is San Diego taking him.

The guy looks like a All Pro corner.

I had to stop watching Ramsey film because its just gonna torture me to see upside & athletic ability go to another team. I just don't see Cowboys taking him because they have too many question marks at LB and Pass rusher.

He got 1 this year, but they werent throwing at him, and btw thats the same number Myles Jack got in 2014.

Ive seen plenty of him, and not just highlights thay show his best plays. He is good. Never said he wasnt, but he is not the playmaker people are making him to be. He isnt some transendant talent like a Patrick Willis.

He's a quality talent I won't deny that. He really looks like a guy that can take out 1 side of the field at a high level.

Just not the route I would go but I think Dallas will.

I think there is a strong possibility that they do. I see mocks with San Diego taking Bosa, but I am not sure he fits their 3-4 scheme (unless that is changing or I am missing something with Bosa's scheme versatility). That would likely leave Ramsey as the best available at #3. In looking at their roster, they have Varrett and Flowers at CB but I don't recognize any of the names they have at Safety (Weddle is long gone imo). So, Ramsey to San Diego does make some sense as a Safety. You could also argue for the second best tackle at #3 but that would likely be a reach. If they don't like Ramsey and an OT would be a reach at #3 then I would look for San Diego to trade down with someone looking to get ahead of Dallas for a QB (think SF at 7).

I think we will be sitting at #4 looking at Bosa, Jack and one of Goff or Wentz as "best available" unless there is a trade up for a QB then Ramsey is back in play.

You keep saying this doesn't make it true.

Also I didn't know that in a "win now" type scenario only your top draft pick plays a role. Are we not allowed to shop in free agency? Do we not have high picks in every round?

Finding out that Ramsey would be the only new guy added to our team is a real bummer.
