I'll leave out most of the obvious and/or things that have been said often. Credit to the many unmentioned players who really showed up to play.

-Biadasz: I'm not ready to give up on him. His run blocking is more than acceptable. We ran all over them all night and he was right in the middle of that many times. He does seem to get pushed backwards in pass protection more than you'd like. He has been around long enough to have maxed out strength wise, so thats a bit of a concern, but I wouldn't go advocating for Farinok just yet, and I doubt the team is considering that at this point.

-Overall depth: The Garrett era felt like we had a top heavy roster. Some stars, names, etc.....but when one starter would go down the drop-off would be quite noticeable, and the opposition seemed to inevitably exploit that and it would cost us. Now when guys like Collins/Wilson/Armstrong go down, we have others to come in and offer up a similar performance.

-Speaking of Steele: He just looks different. Last year he looked like your average fat man....like an extra in a football movie. Now he looks the part of an NFL tackle and is backing it up on the field. If I'm Collins, I'm nervous.

-JSmith: One play aside, he really did play pretty well. The spy role is probably where he is best used at this point, and the coaches are doing an excellent job of putting people in the right places to get the most out of them....something that was missing here for a very long while.

Having some d-line pressure and DB coverage is helping 9.

He's not racking up those 5-7 yard tackles and that is fine. Better, even...as we stuff other parts of the field....he can focus a little bit more on specific assignments.

I've eased my outlook on both him and Kellen. Both are doing fine. The whole team is we just have to keep the pedal down and not get complacent.

Definitely on the last part, and thats where MM has got to not let them get all full of themselves.

On your comment about Biadasz having been around long enough and maxed out his strength....the guy is 23 years old, he's in his 2nd year in the NFL....given his youth and tenure there is still quite a ways to go in terms of being able to add strength and improve his ability to use leverage more efficiently.

I thought as a QB Spy, Jaylon was excellent. I think Jaylon should be used like Parsons, downhill even as a edge rusher.

Philly has what might be the best DT combo in the NFL in Cox and Hargrave. Hargrave is a top 5 NT.

Nice job and several great points that I very much agree with. But I’m not sure I agree on Biadasz’ strength being ‘maxed out’. I think that and technique can still be improved to where he’s better in handling power one on one.

I’d like to report that This guy stole my answer.

Agree on Biadasz. I'm more interesting in ending the Williams experiment and replacing him with McGovern. Williams has had 4 years and has probably hit his ceiling. He isn't bad, but he isn't great either. McGovern is stronger and is the future - let's do it now.

Jaylon has definitely looked better this year in his more limited role. Unfortunately, his car number is way too high for what he does to justify keeping him on the team after this year.

8 games in not really year 2 year one isn't in the books snaps wise..he will be fine..

you are correct but I do agree with the other poster that given that he had last year to really work on being NFL ready it is a little concerning that he is getting overpowered regularly. granted he has faced some stiff competition thus far this season. not giving up but definitely concerned is how I would summarize my feelings.

I’d say job well done to the OL if we are down to nitpicking about some holding calls on Williams and some bull rushes on Biadasz through 3 games.

Lot more good happening on the OL than bad.

Biggest takeaway for the OL so far is that the team was able to run the ball well 2 of the 3 games. They also are extending drives and keeping the defense rested and off the field. And don’t forget about the defense stopping the run so far.

Jaylon not making those downfield tackles is a good sign. A good sign that the DL is doing a better job.
Fans harp on the downfield tackles. Well, most LB's line up that deep. And waiting to see is a run or pass and depending their assignments. They may stay there then react.

However, many will not take off the blinders to realize that. I wish he could do more, but maybe that is not being asked of him in this defense. Still too early to see or know his overall impact. I will give him more time.
And $$$ has nothing to do with it.

I will give the OL as in Williams and Biadasz some more time. The entire OL went up against 3 of the better DL's in the NFL. And overall came out pretty good.

The depth has definitely shown this year as to previous years. From the looks of PS games, it sucked. However, as I posted back then. You have a bunch off back ups in, and this goes back to last season. With all the injuries. They play together, they will all look bad. But. a few back ups mixed in with the better players, that can cover some mistakes, and they play better with surrounding talent.

All teams are this way. So we do have better depth, as well, better coaching and game plans.

Agreed.

But my point to the op was his comment that a 23 year old with 1 full offseason in the NFL has peaked in strength is an innacurate Statment
I'll agree that experience can help him learn about leverage and how to better use it and fair enough on the strength aspect....

My words should probably have been chosen a bit more carefully. Of course there's room for improvement, but it's not likely to change much.

Almost along the lines of saying if a player keeps running forties....dozens a day....they will eventually run a 3.9.

Biadasz can squat way more than usual in the upcoming offseason, but it eventually going to reach a plateau.

That's more along what I meant about the maxed out part....if it made any kind of sense.

I do fully agree with the technique thing with him, and the OP was in defense of him if anything.

See above.
