I don't think he's a bust either but I don't see him materializing into anything other than a middle of the pack DB. He's good enough to where I can see him hanging around the league for 10 seasons but I don't ever see him being a difference maker. Which is what most sane people assessed going into the draft.

Unfortunately the Cowboys valued combine stats over on the field performance so it's looking like they're the latest team to fall in love with an average player who's nothing more than a workout warrior.

You really start to see progress in a corner in year 2 and 3. From what I've read about the kid he's a student of the game so I expect a big leap next year. Sad thing is coaching plays a big role in development and I have little faith in our coaching staff.

Careful now...don't bring up coaching in a non Garrett thread or you may be sent on vacation.

I made the thread and in the initial post of the thread it contains the topic about the HC and his coaching.

In your quickness to question or mock Reality's thread (which is stupid on your part) you completely failed to grasp what he was saying.... Shocking

It is his rookie season and at a very difficult position to transition to. Mabye you should be realistic with your assessment?

My assessment is realistic. I said I could see him being a middle of the pack DB who hung around the league for 10 years. That's pretty realistic if you ask me.

Unrealistic would be to proclaim that he's the next Charles Woodson or me proclaiming that he's going to be completely out of the league in 3 years.

I think the biggest thing that will hold him back is the Cowboys DB coaches. We rarely seem to coach DBs up and have them perform and produce above their talent level.

I totally disagree that Jones is a bust. But I agree that the receiver position needs to be upgraded big time. I'm fine with Dez and Beasley. Tired of watching Williams. He disappears and when he does get open, He catches passes half of the time. Horrible hands. Butler is a joke too. He doesn't act like a guy who wants to make a play. He does like going out of bounds though. We all know Street isn't the answer and I'm not that excited about Lucky either. He's better at returning punts but he's going to fumble alot. You get nervous everytime he handles the ball. A bunch of garbage to swift through at this position

Let him play at one position and then evaluate him. Jones has been moved back & forth constantly this season due to injury. He is far from being a top 10 issue on this team. How'd he do on Gronk?

We are still in the hunt for a top ten draft pick

If we win next week, Jason will have a Campo record for the season at 5-11

If we lose next week, Jason Wil have a worse season than Campo

No matter if we win or not, people can no longer claim he has never had a losing season as they have tried to say with his 8-8 seasons.

While Kellen Moore might be more exciting to watch than Weeden or Cassel.... He is not the future starting QB for the Cowboys... He might be a future 2nd or 3rd stringer...maybe.

This team needs more offensive talent and a healthy Romo to win. It is clear we will not win due to coaching... If we win, We will win due to talent inspite of the coaching schemes on offense.

The FO needs to have learned a lesson this year... You can't just plug any RB behind this oline and expect it to be a success.

The lights have came on and are shining bright for DLaw.

How odd is it that back to back games the team gets ints from basically practice squad players

It was about 75 degrees with wind and rain in my part of WV today... Crazy for this time of year but seemed odd to see players in cold weather gear after I was out in the warm weather today. Heck if not for the rain I was going to mow today. I thought mowing a couple of days after Thanksgiving would be all it needed but with this weather I guess I was wrong.

With this crappy season does anyone find themselves in a a nonplussed meh kind of mood even after a great or terrible play? I used to curse or yell and fist pump. Now I might say meh or blow a half hearted raspberry toward the screen.

This mess of a season is almost over... Which mean the draft info and talk will start up. I love reading and talking about the draft prospects and frankly is about the only shows I watch or listen to on DC. Com I hope we get more people to join us in the draft zone when it starts heating up.

Ok... Throw out some of your random thoughts.

Thought we couldn't discuss certain things

I want to discuss your random thoughts but it would be against the rules to discuss your second point. :)

That goes both ways.

Some people want to give credit to the coaches for the 2014 yet they think the coaches had nothing to do with the three 8-8 seasons and this season.

Indeed, it is very silly.

I credit the coach for completely changing the culture here. That's undeniable and something he can control much more than on the field stuff

For me a more fair evaluation is looking at how many positions Jones played
his rookie season. He had a hell of a year considering IMO

Everyone seems to be saying we need a QB. But honestly, the problem is the playbook. It won't matter if we have Brady or Manning as QB. They will come in here and made to fit the system which Garrett has employed.

If we really want change like what we had in 2014, take the Garrett playbook and throw it out the window and never use it again. Tell Linehan to have complete control of the playcalling and draw up his own plays. Never ever let Garrett call plays or use his playbook ever again. He can be a glorified cheerleader if all I care. So long he has nothing to do with how the offense is being played.

I don't have any more to throw. You nailed every one. The day when the mindless clapping .500 HC is relieved will be a beautiful day in my world.

He needs to take all three coordinators with him too & the rest of these basic bozos.

I'm in northern VA for a short holiday vacation. This town is stir crazy for the Skins right now. We're an after thought.

I didn't watch the game today. Took the family to the National Zoo. But from the radio broadcast, it sounded like we were pretty pathetic. 6 points isn't beating anyone.

I'm sitting in the hotel right now enjoying the Packers get stuffed.

Moore was frequently off and there were a few drops. Basically I'd say our best offense is trying the three yards and a cloud of dust offense right now.

That's bad. We can't rely on Romo forever. Time to prepare to move on. Something's not working here. Lack of talent? Bad play calling?

I think there are very few offenses that work well without good QB play. We haven't had that at all since Romo went down. We've had a couple of games with average QB play but mostly have had bad to terrible QB play I'd say. It's very hard to judge the offensive talent from this year because there was a major change week 1 and then everything changed week 2. Yes we probably do need to have an offense that's less needing of elite QB play to be successful. Just think how bad this year would have been if we didn't have the offensive line that let us run in spite of the fact that no teams respected our passing game for most of the year.
