Randy Gregory question

He wont be allowed back until the playoffs. Not sure how effective he could be after sitting out so long. This might be the end of the road for him.

That's his decision.

The team will likely welcome him back. It's up to him to follow the necessary steps to stay clean and get help if he needs it. Even though he can't come into contact with the team, I'm sure he is still drug tested.

for all we know, he's failed 3 more tests because I get the feeling this guy has zero self control

Oh, I'm assuming he'll stay clean. It's the football part I'm worried about. Is he going to follow the necessary steps to be in football shape in January?

To be suspended that long for marijuana he had to have failed like over 10 drug tests. Why would you assume this guy can stay clean? He's clearly got a problem and he's not going to stay clean. The staying in football shape doesn't matter... because, well... then he got high.

I don't think he will even be a consideration at all this year. I assume he can apply for reinstatement once the year is up. That means right after the regular season ends. Would the league make an immediate decision? Not likely. Would the team cut someone for him going into the playoffs? Again, not likely. If he stays clean which I find unlikely, he will get one more chance with the Cowboys for the 2018/19 season. He will either make good or go down in flames which is what we knew we were getting when he was picked.

LOL. Ok, assuming he stays clean, by some sort of miracle, I doubt he'll be any good after sitting out two seasons.

Yeah, any chance for resurrecting his career will happen next season (2018), if at all, whether it be with the Cowboys or some other team. He needs to get his act together.

I will wait it out and just see how it all plays out. Not even thinking about it unless I see a thread or post.
Out of sight, out of mind (and yes I been accused of being out of my mind before...). But if he returns late in the season, or next season, or not at all. Then so be it. I won't waste any brain cells on the situation. As I just did here....

Randy Gregory is too busy on the year long Mary Jane tour to be bothered with to play and be dependable for the Cowboys.

The earliest he could apply for reinstatement is November

Technically the League could rule on his case in time for him to return for the Playoffs but they won't....they will drag it out past the Super Bowl.........and even then it is no guarantee he is allowed back..... Josh Gordon had his denied

As I see it the Cowboys have 3 years of control left....... if the miracle happens and he stays clean for another year then he is still a potential asset...... until then he costs nothing to keep
