Hmmm and yet.. what we saw was a QB that instead stepped up into the pressure. Jackson got better and better as the game wore on.. was unstoppable in the third and fourth quarters and put the game beyond doubt.

In fact, Jackson just did what Dak needed to. Made a statement. And Jackson had to do it against a better opposition with more on the line.

That is the difference between REAL QBs and frauds.
Jackson has had his downsides, but he’s way more talented than Dak. And a much better QB

Yep, feel bad for Micah and the rest of the defense who have to carry such an inept QB.
As you state they get 0 help from him esp in big games.
The world saw the Deer in the headlight face of his and man you gotta wonder is Jerry blind or senile?
When you lack confidence you can't win. But he has good reason to lack confidence,
He doesn't use ball placement and is not accurate. Lacks ability to throw timing routes and doesn't know how to anticipate.
Gets completely confused when his first read is covered and panics when pressured.

Stop the insanity with extending this guy. He has proven he can't handle the big game moments. He plays terrified when the pressure is on. Take the hit this next year and cut him.

Nobody said Dak was important. You can’t trade Dak. You can’t release Dak. The dead money would cripple the cap.

So you’re forced to resign him and lower his cap hit and extend him.

Packers had Jordan Love ready. Jets stunk.

Like I said. You have two options.

Extend Dak and play it out and be competitive.

Or you release him or pray somebody eats his cap hit (they won’t) and have a non competitive roster for a season.

Rush won games because we have a competitive team. If Daks hit is 60 million all of those important cogs are gone
The dead money would cripple the cap the same way it crippled Green Bay who beat us down right? Pretty sure their cap hit this year was similar in dead cap money.

How does it make sense to not extend MM but to extend Dak? Why is Dak more deserving than MM of a contract extension?

We are absolutely screwed. This is going to set this team back for a while
It is not a matter or deserve

Our idiot FO gave Dak a deal where he is owed 59 million this year and has a no trade clause

To operate and sign our FAs and outside FAs we have to lower his cap hit. The only way to lower it is to give him a new deal which will likely be at 55+ million and will have the no trade clause again

MM does not count against the cap

It is sheer idiocy by our FO

I think you can lower his cap hit by restructuring again, without extending via a new contract. Of course, that pushes dead money out, but it relieves 2024.

Fun fact: He's been the QB for almost 20% of my life. For some of you that percentage is much, much higher.
And that's the problem. For Jerra that's like 9% of his life only, so he thinks he can wait until that 20% to decide if he should get rid of him. :muttley:

This isn’t true.
They can restructure Dak without extending him.

This is absurd. I'm not saying that Dak was solely responsible for our loss to the Packers. However, I do not believe he has earned any kind of raise or updated contract.

It’s going to be in neighborhood of 50 million Per. Maybe more. Remember market price.

Why would Dak do that?
The whole reason he and his agent made a short deal was so he could fleece the Cowboys again
Hes going to demand a nee deal if we want to reduce the cap hit
