Rapoport: Al Golden In Line For Assistant Coach Position?

Most coaches mixes 3-4 and 4-3 but as I said they run a BASE 4-3.

You know who Al Groh is right? He was Parcells LB coach then after Belichick left his DC. They pioneered the pro style 3-4 40 years ago.

I get that most coaches can do both but your missing my point. We can both be right you know. The takeaway is the guy is well rounded.

You're a Miami fan though so given the hate hype that surrounded him there in Miami I'm not surprised that you dislike him.

Yes I know who Al Groh and I never said he couldn't do both. I also understand he is well rounded, my point was just because he failed as a college head coach doesn't mean can't contribute as a assistant, especially with his insite on players coming out.

Also I'm truely happy he is gone from the "U".

Dude you offered your unsolicited comment, stay in your lane and let the grown folks continue in the thread. He is gonna be a Def. assistant anyway who cares what he ran in college. Last I checked Marrielli is still the D. coordinator.

You made a false comment i just corrected it doggy. What are you angry about

Actually I was correct, and you offered an inaccurate comment. So take your own advice dude and keep it moving. I would also suggest you go read up on switching between a 4-3 and 3-4 defense, it could help you out in future conversations.

Keep it moving, dude

As someone who has good ties to the University of Miami situation (Canes supporter)... I can tell you he did an OK job with the hand that was dealt to him.

We seem to always be shopping for groceries is places no good football team would ever frequent.
We seem to love coaches and players from Cleveland, Oakland, Miami, etc. Why do we never shop
for talent or coaches in New England, Seattle, Arizona, even Tampa Bay (see Lovie Smith). Garrett just
loves to live at the bottom of the pickle barrel.

He's from the university of Miami the college team. Not the Miami dolphins

This is interesting. Golden has been a Defensive Guy for most of his career but he was a TE in College and the Pros. I wonder what his position might be with the Cowboys?

Of course, Golden is right out of the College Ranks so he would be a guy who might have a lot of insight into College talent coming out. With a high pick in this years draft, it might be a move to try and leverage that.

If Im not mistaken alot of his players have gotten drafted in the last few years it just didn't translate on the field. In my opinion its telling more about his coaching that you have players getting drafted to the NFL but your getting your arse handed to you every Saturday afternoon

They haven't had a very good team for years either and if my memory serves me, their defense hasn't been "all that".

They were under investigation his first couple years there. They were decent, but nothing to shout about. The next year, the started off like 7-0, but then lost to FSU, which ticked off the fan base. After that, they kinda limped to the finish, and got thumped in their bowl game. Last year, they started 3-0, but then lost to Louisville, and the fan base was just waiting to start ripping him.

I think he'd be a decent position coach, though. Remember, Callahan was awful as HC at Nebraska.

Bill Callahan was the Head Coach, Oline and Offensive Coodinator, let the Skins have him so they can win the East then deny there was a Coaching flaw until a Scapegoat can be found.

Jerrruh and Dead Red are the consummated Anti-Callahan, who lost his job for being better and Trumping the Dallas Cowboys "Status Coaching Quo' .
