Mcfadden was 4th in the league in rushing this year and didn't start for almost a month of the season, correct?

We're paying him around a million a year if that vs Murray getting 7 or 8 mill?

Come on.. He's not coming back here.

Yep. People are forgetting that McFadden was about as productive as we could've hoped Murray would be if he stayed (taking into account his limited snaps before he became the starter). He was top 5 in rushing yards and had a YPC up there with the other top rushers in the league. Really can't ask for more. Were people really expecting another 1800+ yard season if Murray stayed?

The Murray ship has sailed, UNLESS Philly releases him and eats most of his contract. I wouldn't turn down a free AP OPOY.

I still want a rookie in the draft like Henry, Collins, Booker or Drake if Elliott is out of reach.

The Eagles per Sportrac have approximately $24M in projected cap space. I doubt they eat almost half of that up just to get rid of him.

He already counts for 8m, so anything under that is a net gain.

If he was June 1st cut it would be a break even at 8m PLUS any offset the other team paid.

Could also depend on offsets in his contract.

9m of the 13m in Dead Money is guaranteed base salary. Whatever another teams pays him could be deducted from what PHI owes and is charged for.

Has there ever been an example of a team trading away a player and giving up a draft pick?

Because I think that in this case, the Eagles would have to send Murray packing and give up a better draft pick for a lesser pick and someone to pay Murray his money owed.

So it would be Murray with his 4yr/31m 9m guaranteed PLUS a 2nd for DAL's 4th.....

That would be a first I think

Yeah me neither, NFL not as flexible as NBA in this regard.

That would be a first I think

PHI would save 4m against the cap this year with no future charges
DAL would restructure Murray's 7m guarantee for 2016 and end up with a cap charge of 2.5m

They could then cut DMC and save his 2m against the cap and draft a scatback RB with the pick swap and save any money they would pay Dunbar

I would think that Coughlin would want to keep Murray. Murray didn't fit Kelly's offense; he'll fit what Coughlin likes to do.

"He looks good. he's got great vision, he's an outstanding runner, he catches the ball out of the backfield," Coughlin said. "He's grown as this offensive team (has) in people getting to know one another from the idea that new players at new positions, you can see the improvement."

I can understand if the Eagles want him to take a pay cut based on his production last year, but I can't see it leading to Philly trading or releasing him.

Lol
Now I know why you want Manziel to sign with the Cowboys...... You have no clue

Leave Rapoport alone... he's bored, it's the offseason. Oh wait, the Super Bowl is this Sunday. My excitement for football goes down the tubes once the Boys are eliminated :(

Why would the Eagles be in a "stare-down" with Murray? He is under contract and as far as we know is not holding out for more money.

Yep.. The only knock on McFadden was the TD's but I blame that mostly on Garrett/QB play.
