Nothing else at all? Man, I know his last decade of work has been pretty bad, but he had some decent movies out pre 2000's. I thought Raising Arizona and Leaving Las Vegas were good movies.

Here's the deal on Nick Cage.....he sucks.

Seriously....he's been in some pretty entertaining movies, but none of those movies couldn't have been that much better had they not cast him. Raising Arizona is arguably the best performance he had....likely because he played a role that didn't require much thought or talent. Leaving Las Vegas? He barely had to speak. He's had numerous roles in movies that I like....mostly mindless action flicks like "The Rock", but that doesn't forgive his completely atrocious acting.

Hollywood shows its true colors when it comes to Nick Cage. Anything for a buck.

I choose to ignore the fact that there are apparently millions of my fellow Americans that are "simple" enough (to put it politely) to keep buying tickets to this guy's movies. It's just sad.

How dare you not mention Valley Girl by name when talking about great Nicolas Cage movies! :laugh2:

Again, he's cast in some pretty good movies...matchstick men was pretty good from what I remember.....but I also remember him being outperformed by a child actor in that same movie. It's not hard to do.

He's not alone in the "can't act for **** but I'm in a lot of decent movies" boat.

Tom Cruise
Keanu Reeves
etc.....

...but Cage is by far the worst IMO. Coppela (sp?) put a curse on Hollywood by giving cage a name...

I can never watch Keanu Reeves again. He's the same person in very movie I have seen him in.

I enjoyed Lord of War and 8MM. Gone in 60 seconds was silly, but I want that sometimes.

Hardwired at about 6/10. It was meh. I wasn't paying much attention though. Interesting concept and storyline, decent acting, just wasn't too much into it.

The Score 7/10. I like Robert DeNiro and love Norton. I like these types of movies too (i.e. The Italian Job, Ocean's trilogy).

:laugh2: I've only watched one full Nic Cage movie since Adaptation (National Treasure), so I don't really have a good grasp on his body of work in the last 8 years other than hearing that he has put out some stinkers.

Does the above mean that you are part of those Americans or are you just catching his movies on TV (and why are you watching them anyways)?

Have you seen Heist starring Gene Hackman? You should like it if you enjoy robbery films.

No, but I'll look into it. Sounds interesting. Thanks for the suggestion.

Up in the Air - 5 out of 10.

I really hate it when I watch a "crtically acclaimed" movie and just don't see in it what other folks do. I thought it was okay. Clooney was Clooney and the movie was pretty predictable.

I saw this movie too when it came out. My wife had to see it. She walked out and flat out said. "Well, that sucked." I agreed.

Like someone else stated earlier....sometimes I just want to watch something "silly". The majority of Cage's work certainly falls under that description....and television broadcasts have proven they have no problem re-airing the same silly crap over and over. I've certainly never paid money to contribute to his debt collection agency though. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. :D

Like I said, however, any of those movies would have been that much better if he hadn't been cast. I'm not saying they still wouldn't be silly, but they would be better...

I really enjoyed that movie. The clips of people's reaction as they are let go are actually people who were "downsized" in real life.

I think next time I watch a George Clooney movie (which, per the wife, is mandatory at the Rodriguez household), I might PM you to help me figure out what I just watched. I had the same issue after watching "Burn After Reading" and "The Men who Stare at Goats".

Brothers: I give it a 4 / 10

I was entertained for about 30 minutes of the movie.

The end left me very unsatisfied too. You get left speculating a lot of things.

Zombieland 7/10.

I was howling while Woody Harrelson was riding the rollercoaster. :laugh2:

The most important rule in my opinion? #2 Double tap.

Hey. You may as well be sure, right? :p:

Anyone see the trailer for TRON: Legacy yet? I remember really liking that movie growing up. I thought, visually, that it was way ahead of its time. It's going to be hard to mimic that same feeling.

Youth in Revolt: 6/10

I kinda liked it. I didn't like the kid having the random alter ego that showed up during the movie but overall I thought it was a decent story.

If I were a highschool kid still i'd rent the movie. But im 25 so anyone 20 and above should just bootleg it.

Ok watch though.
