Zach and Miri Make A Porno - 7/10

It wasn't the funniest movie I've ever watched but I'll admit that it did make me laugh. I've not been a real big fan of the lead guy in the movie, most of his comedies absolutely bore me to death, but this one (and I realise it's an older one and one of his earlier films) I found pretty funny.

I guess cause I've always found the whole porn thing absolutely hilarious (the stupid sets, terrible acting (which obviously its not supposed to be quality since it's about sex but, you know what I mean), and just all the stupid crap that goes with it) is what made this movie so funny to me. The way they went above and beyond to make porno seem so stupid.

That just made it funny to me.

Can someone tell me what the heck the plot was supposed to be? That just seemed like some dialogue and the dude from The Tudors was thrown in there to give John Travolta a reason to shave his head and whip up on people.

Wall Street:Money Never Sleeps: 7/10

It was good, but not a great movie. I would say the biggest downer was the fact that probably to two most dramatic parts of the movie, I could easily tell what was going to happen well before it actually did. So, the movie doesn't surprise with unexpected plot twists, but the story is good enough to see the movie. Even if you wait till it comes out on HBO, Netflix or whatever other medium you watch movies through.

Yet you loved Avatar, which the whole plot could have been figured out simply by watch Fern Gully.

Tis a crazy world.

I turned it off immediately following the Travolta incident with customs. Good thing I had a stream of the movie.

The Last Airbender - 4/10

Man, this movie has the worst, wooden acting since M. Night's other movig, The Happening. He just can't direct his actors to act worth a flip. The story, plot, and the idea of the movie could have been good but the dialogue and acting KILLED it. The acting is like watching a direct to vhs movie with no name actors. I guess they were doomed to begin with because the dialogue was so weekly written. M Night is done!

The odd thing is, the acting in his first few movies was pretty good and Haley even had that Oscar nomination. It's like the actors have just started phoning it in since M. Night started to become a joke.

Predators - 7/10

I enjoyed it, as far as action movies go I thought it was pretty good. I found myself kind of interested in the back stories of all the characters in the movie more so than their present predicament a few times though.

The ending was rather lame and not nearly impactful enough (you knew who would survive after the first 20 minutes or so), but the ride was fun.

It's not the actors, it's M Night. If you go back and watch his films, you'll find that he likes this certain stillness in the actors and sometimes it ends up making them come across paper thin and wooden. Even his good movies are like that. At first people found it interesting, but you can't do it in every single movie.

In the case of this movie not only did M Night kill any personality the actors had, but the writing was bad and the casting was pretty terrible as well. The point of casting the entire fire nation as Indian, I don't understand considering he cast so many of the other characters as different races than they were written to be.

I accept a movie for what it is. I don't sit there and whine like an six year old who had their candy taken away about a movie.

Batman: Under The Red Hood - 8/10

Animated Batman movie with a pretty good story and top notch voice acting. The story isn't groundbreaking or anything, but you feel something for the characters and their complex relationships to each other. If you're a Batman fan, definately worth a peek.

I just don't understand how you can bag on one plot of a movie when you wholeheartedly support another one with a plot and dialogue just as predictable. Maybe more so.

Case 39.. 6/10

I think it's safe to say that no horror movie is scary anymore. I am totally de-sensitized on all levels. Unless it's a GORY zombie movie, or just a violent Rob Zombie-esque movie, imo it just comes off as corny.

This little girl is supposedly being abused, so Rene "squishy face" Zellwegger, takes on the case (she's a social worker). Her parents try to kill her, so Rene takes her in. Turns out the girl is the spawn of Satan, or some kind of demon...yada yada yada...I feel like i've already seen this movie. The only reason I gave it 6/10 is that it wasn't terribly boring, but not the greatest horror movie i've seen.

ON that note...The Human Centipede comes out today. I CAN"T WAIT. I'll post a review tonight. If you haven't heard of the Human Centipede....google it!

Best horror movie of all-time is still...Halloween. I shouldn't have to say this, but I'm talking about the John Carpenter version.

The Human Centipede...9/10

I mean, what's not to like about a crazy old German guy who hunts people with tranquilizer darts, brings them back to his cellar, so that he can create a human centipede? The creepy old man is a world renown surgeon obsessed with fusing live things together. He captures two American girls and a Japanese man, and sews them together butt-to-mouth. It's quite possibly one of the craziest movies I've seen.

I loved Daniel Tosh's recount of the movie, that was hilarious. Of course I am never going to see it.

I kept seeing that in my head the whole time I was watching the movie. I had heard about it a long time before seeing Tosh do that bit, so I had to watch it. Tosh is probably the funniest comedian out imo.

The Buddy Holly Story (1978) with Gary Busey. 7/10

I didn't actually watch the entire movie, but most of it. There was too much stuff going on at the house.

It's a shame Holly died after such a short career. His talent was eminence. The amount of great music he created in such a short time is absolutely dumbfounding. I bet he would have been on par with the Beatles / Elvis level of fame if he had lived longer. His death was a huge loss to the music world.
