Don't get me wrong, I did like the movie, but virtually every scene to me felt uncomfortable in that there was just awkwardness to it (one I vividly remember is where Margie mets up with an old school classmate (the Asian guy), and he tries to sit next to her. She handled it well, but it was definitely uncomfortable. Almost every scene with Lundegaard was that way (great acting on the part of Macy btw) and made me feel sorry for him because he was so pathetic but at the same time, he definitely did deserve what happened.

There were some funny parts, like referring to Buschemi as weird/funny-looking guy generically in a couple of the scenes and margie's naivety was a bit funny , but for the most part, it was uncomfortable to watch.

would you being Vietnamese have anything to do with your opinion, do you think? (I'm writing a paper/conducting a study on Vietnamese-Americans and their take on Fargo)

I recently re-watched it. I love this flick. The Cohen brothers manage to swing the mood of a movie from hilarious to uncomfortable in a heart beat.

Watch Millers Crossing, if you get the chance, it's well under appreciated and very good.

One of my favorites. Great movie.

I agree on both counts. Fargo was a great movie and so was Millers crossing.

Defendor-------------5.5/10

It had some funny parts to it and it touching at the end but didn't think it was that special.

Crazies---------------5/10

meh

No, I watched it with my boyfriend and his brother, and we all agreed that it was scene after scene of unease and strain. Great movie if you enjoy character development (they all seem very real people and interactions).

I loved Taken as well. Tried to watch Mall cop, but the beginning wasn't as funny as I was expecting and turned it off.

The Coen brothers are very twisted/weird directors. Fargo was great, but I agree that something was a little off. No country for old men was the same. If you liked Fargo, you'll like A Serious Man as well. Pretty good.

I don't know, I thought Fargo was ok, but thought A Serious Man was probably the worst movie I've seen in years.

Speaking of Fargo. Apparently some Japanese chick came all the way from Japan to look for the buried loot, got lost and died from exposure.

Even though in the movie it says it's based on real events. It's not. Poor way to go out.

Temple Grandin -HBO 2010

It's a made-for-television biopic based on the life of the autistic animal behaviorist and livestock consultant, world famous for designing humane slaughterhouses.

Really well done movie IMO, and Claire Danes does a great job playing a "Sling Blade" like character.

I watched the first 30 minutes of A Serious Man and just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll give it another go when it comes on the movie channels.

A Serious Man - 7/10
I liked it, but I kind of missed the meaning of the story at the start. I also wasn't fully swept up in what was supposed to be a grand ending, either. Overall, it's a pretty good movie though.

New Moon - 4/10
Still pretty terrible, but the fiance secretly liked it, I think. I would give the first one a 2/10, so I suppose this is better. Every good scene involved the werewolves. I wish Dakota Fanning had a larger role.

???

The only good scene(s) in New Moon were the ones in Italy, no wolves at all.

A Serious Man had no meaning, try as it might.
