How to Train Your Dragon - 10/10

Great movie, can't wait to buy it on Blu-Ray. You get even more enjoyment out of it if you're a pet person, the fiance and I were laughing at how much "Toothless" reminded us of our dogs. We saw it IMAX 3D, which ain't cheap, especially in Manhattan but it was worth every penny.

Just saw Avatar.

Good movie. Not worthy of all the hype but pretty damn good.

8/10.

Would have liked it better if damn near 75% of the movie wouldn't have been a "Dances With Wolves" rip.

James Cameron owes Kevin Costner a little bit of gratitude for a good majority of the script.

Crazy Heart 8/10

Jeff Bridges gives an incredible performance both as an actor and as a musician.

The story is better than average but its clearly a performance driven movie. Well worth the time to watch for any Jeff Bridges or music fan.

A Bridge too far - 6/10 made the mistake of watching it at 9pm. Definitely very long, and obviously, not a good ending. A lot of bad acting, but good visuals. I heard a lot of it was shot on location, so kudos for that.

It's a Pocahontas rip too....

This.

How to Train Your Dragon - 10/10

Best movie I've seen in some time. Simply outstanding entertainment....and that's saying something considering the 3D cost me 42 bucks to take the kids...worth every penny.

Toothless reminded me of my dog too. :D

It's actually almost the exact same as Ferngully: The Last Rainforest.

They took the voices from the Avatar trailer and put them behind the trailer for Ferngully here.

4 Part PBS Documentary 'Napoleon'
7/10

The Documentary did a very good job of showing just how spectacular his rise was (and fall). From the son of a poor noble in Corsica (and hating France as a youth) to Emperor of France and ruling over 70 million people at his empire's zenith.

I also had no idea how many countries this guy was fighting at the same time (England, Prussia, Russia, Austria, Spain) and more shocking, he actually beat them.

Hey Tomson,

Was this one shot in 3-D or was it shot 2-D and converted? I want to take my son, but he seems to have a good eye for that stuff and I don't want to waste the money if he doesn't care.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd know the difference. This was the first 3-D movie I've seen in twenty years. :D

I intended to watch the 2-D version, but we would've been late for it...I'm glad we were. The 3-D was MUCH better than I had anticipated. No headache, very little blurriness...if I had to guess, I'd say it was shot in 3-D.

I don't think I posted my "review" on this yet, but I saw it several weeks ago.

If it's not a solid 10/10, then it's a slightly underrated 9/10.

Yeah, that stuff confuses me. Not sure if it matters as much with the cartoons anyway.

Just say Avatar.

I liked it

8/10

The main girl alien thing was best part of the movie.

I love stuff like that. Ken Burns "The National Parks: America's Best Idea" was great as well. I never knew that the parks were so understaffed and mistreated at the start.

avatar reminded me of "surrogates" w/bruce willis. but since both were out around the same time it's just a recycled idea i suppose.

in all - it was ok but i'm really tired of "man = bad" movies.

They're not "my kids". They're my fiances' kids. They may be "mine" someday, but either way, Bob's joke is out of line, and coming from him, ironic....seeing as how he doesn't have the required equipment to make his own.

Pretty ****ing funny.

How to Train Your Dragon is an animated movie, so it wasn't "shot" in anything. It's animated digitally, with the intention of going 3D, but processing it for 3D is done after all the animation is finished.
