Edge of Darkness -- 6.5/10

It was OK. Typical, although slow-paced Gibson flick. Kind of a departure for him though as it was a quasi Political thriller/action flick, instead of straight action flick which I'm accustomed to seeing him in. I must say, the end got me. *spoiler alert* Had chills running through my spine when both of their spirits walked out of the hospital together.

Iron Man II - 7.5/10 - Enjoyed the movie, but the first one was better.

Really? I thought the first one was dumb. Then again, most movies spawn from Super Heros of late I've found annoying at how obviously fake they are.

Now, don't get me wrong. A movie to me doesn't have to be believable, but if it's not going to be believable, it at least has to give somewhat believable reasons why it is that way. Iron Man does not do that.

If Iron Man 2 isn't as good as Iron Man 1 (I loosely say that) then there is no point for me to see Iron Man 2.

Yep, and vultures like Don King were just waiting in the wings to take advantage of Tyson.

In the documentary, Tyson actually gets choked with tears when he talks about old Cus.

This is why I believe you must have good people around you 'before' you become extremely successful. As opposed to trying to find them after you do become massively successful.

That's a heck of a point. Seems like that statement should be plastered on high school locker rooms everywhere.

Iron Man 2 - 7/10

It was entertaining, but the first one was without a doubt better.

Great documentary about the 16th Street Baptist Church Bombing. One of the most interesting moments in the documentary was when some of the people in the film said that when the bomb went off at the Church, they just went back to doing what they were doing because bombings in Birmingham were so frequent, the city had been nicknamed 'Bombingham'.

Crazy!!!

Further proof the 2nd one was better (though honestly I'd put them about equal, with the 2nd having a less lackluster ending).

Wait...you actually went into a superhero movie, at any point, believing tat they'd come up with somewhat believable reasons for why they're superheros?

Yeah the problem isn't the movies then.

Iron Man 2: 7.5/10

I enjoyed it. It was entertaining. It had some really good moments. I liked the first one more. It was just better.

The Lovely Bones: 5/10

It was ok. I'd read the book and I guess I liked it about as much as the book, maybe slightly more. It wasn't anything special.

Nightmare on Elm Street: 6/10

It was ok. It wasn't as bad as people were making it out to be. It was a decent remake of the original though I thought the original, as they usually are, was far, far, far better.

I didn't miss Robert as Freddy as much as I thought I would but I still think he was the better guy with the character.

Me too....I wish they would have ate him.

Either you never read the book, and honestly thought that could happen, or you're just goofy.

Rob Zombie's Halloween II.

Single handedly buried the franchise.

Michael Myers is now a poor man's Jason Voorhees...go figure.

Can anyone make a good scary movie anymore without gratuitous amounts of gore?

You mean you actually thought it wasn't buried after the first one by Rob Zombie? He'd already destroyed the franchise by even doing his version of the first one. He's an idiot.

Mmmm I'd say the first one burried the franchise. So stupid explaining the history with the kid.

The history wasn't the bad part. I actually didn't mind the asylum stuff. What sucked was that he changed the life situations for the kid thus making it impossible, at least to me anyway, to view him as pure, unexplainable, evil.

In the original he comes from what is clearly at the very least a middle class family, with a loving mother and father, and it just creeps you out that the kid is like that and you can't understand at all why. He's just pure evil.

In Zombie remake he's from a broken, screwed up, home where he's picked on by his stripper mothers boyfriend, whose a loser, a sister who treats him like crap, he's picked on at school, they're poor, and he's clearly got an absolutely terrible life. It's impossible to view him as just pure evil in that situation cause you can point to things and say, "Yeah he's a screwed up, wacked out kid, but there are clear reasons here why he got that way."

To me that totally ruined the idea of the Michael Myers character. Which, in all honesty, shouldn't be suprising since Rob Zombie is a complete moron.

No, I agree that Zombie ruined the franchise with his first movie, this just showed how screwed up he is and how screwed up the Akhad's were with giving him another shot.

At least we all have John Carpenter's original, which will stand the test of time against any and all horror flicks. There's just none better.

I get Comcast highspeed internet. On their homepage they had a list of the top 20 movies their subcribers have walked out on.

Dumb and Dumber and Pulp Fiction made the list. Those are two of my favorite movies of all time. I don't know who in the hell they polled for that data.

Uh huh. Well he's the only person I've seen who didn't like it.

That movie was hilarious.

Wait...what didn't I like? Dumb and Dumber? I love that movie. The sequel not so much, but definitely the original.

I can understand Pulp Fiction being on that list since Tarantino is not for everyone, but D&D is just pure stupid fun.

I've only walked out of a movie twice in my life (Scary Movie 2 and Rat race). If my wife wasn't with me and going through the torture as well, I probably would have stayed both times.

D&D? As in Dungeons and Dragons? The Movie?

Dude.

I've never walked out of a movie, I protest by sleeping comfortably until it's over.
