I see no problem. I don't think the story was told well from a cinematic stand point. gave my opinion. It felt like a TV movie. When I go to the theaters to watch a film, and pay 20 bucks IMAX...... I want more than what I would watch NBC......I want an experience..... What tone the director sets is very important in effecting the viewer... however the viewer experience varies, just like how you feel about the subject may vary....... So you can give it a 10 out of 10, and I won't bat an eye... I'm okay with that... So it should be no water off of anyone's back when I don't think the film was well made, especially from the standard of film that i'm used to from that director.... If that's not the way you would judge a film... just move right past my post.....

But that's JMO....

Heh heh... You so refused to get the point.

Moving past your post in 5....4.......3...2.1

Lol

For me, I repeat, only for me. This is forum. So it's bit like we cane breakdown our reviews with detailed categorized criteria, it's a simple best of 10 rating,

That therein lies the problem.

You have the story. Just the story and nothing but the story. Not HOW it is told. NOT about the director and his adapting it to the screen, NOT how it was cut ain the editing floor.

Just he mans story. THAT should be a rating just by itself.

I think kyle's story is a great one. The story is 9 of 10 if not 10 of 10 again, for me.
How could you give that story anything less. He was an american protecting his fellow Americans in war.
Plain and simple.

Anyway... Jmo.

So your rating for a biographical/autobiographical film hinges solely on accuracy? life purpose of the lead character? both?

Thank You. Its like giving "Unbroken " 100/100 before you see it, because the story was "inspiring", & "true". And to make the assumption that everyone feels the same way about a topic, or should feel the same way about a topic is incorrect. When you see a movie that has political overtones, expect emotions to be more complex than... "Everyone should like it". I'm all for people giving an emotional response to a film, but don't expect everyone to give the same response to satisfy your need for political correctness.....

But, JMO

Case in point on another Eastwood movie, Invictus. My wife is from South Africa and her family suffered greatly during Apartheid, so she is very emotional about anything Mandela. We were excited to see the movie, and while it drummed up plenty of memories for her, we both felt the film rang hollow with Freeman/Damon relationship.

because its about winning and losing.

I'm good, we disagree. I can live with that.

lol

I stated that it was just my opinion. I emphasized it again because I was NOT trying to push "my opinion" on anyone.

So what do you do, you post "JMO" sarcastically. Simply because you disagreed.

If I have to TRY and back up my opinion and TRY and put into some factual arena. Then I would say the consensus of movie goes are not breaking the film down as online directors, producers or editors and the 87% liked on Rotten Tomatoes say that they just like the story. That close to 9 out 10.

Anyway, except for the Baltimore thing. I like you. And yes, we can disagree and its quite alright.... lol

producers are the money folks, you can subtract that and put online cinematographers... but wait... some of us may also do these things in real life.

Coherence - 7.5/10 A passing comet causes crazy situations to occur at a dinner party. A mind-bending sci-fi thriller. If you liked Primer, give this a look.

Looks interesting. I saw Primer and liked it. If you're into those kind of movies, I'd highly recommend Predestination. It just came out on Amazon Instant Video. Stars Ethan Hawke and a brilliant performance by newcomer Sarah Snook. I don't want to give anything away. All I'll say is it keeps you intrigued and wondering what the heck is going on. A sci fi movie that makes you think.

I've actually watched Predestination recently because I enjoy this particular theme. Include the movie Brainpaint posted about called Triangle to your list as well. Triangle is very similar to Predestination, while Coherence deals with things is a much more subdued manner.

Spongebob was one of the cartoons my kids watched when they were younger that I actually enjoyed. My 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend went to go see it tonight. They said that they enjoyed it.
