And now I'm watching The Seventh Seal.
A gorgeous film by Ingmar Bergman that is heavy on philosophy and the meaning of Life and Death, during the Plague.

This film is worth a view by everybody, if they want to watch a truly intelligent and well-made film without titular seduction.

But I like having my titulars seduced.

Dunkirk...

A different style of movie that will NOT appeal to some but IMHO very good.
Excellent film and according to Christopher Nolan he was making a popcorn war movie. I thought that was an odd thing about an actual event where so many died but it was very well made and the way he divided it into 3 different parts, air, land and sea was really well done.

This was as well an acted film as I've seen in a long time and it reminded me of Spielberg with all of the support actors, most I've not seen before, being so good in their roles.

I am a collector of films and I've watched them so many times that I've found myself not even watching the main characters, just focusing on everyone in the background and I am really impressed at how focused on that the really good directors are like Spielberg with War Horse, not an actor I was familiar with but all of them were excellent. It's all about the details with the good ones.

And one of my favorite background scenes is in Jurassic World when the pterodactyls attack. Jimmy Buffet grabbing two margaritas and running.

Hereditary.

Interesting occult flick with some great acting. 3.5 stars out of 5.

JAWS: 7.5/10

I remember watching this as a kid several times (traumatized me of swimming in the Ocean and even Lakes) but didn't remember much about the movie except for a few scenes. Now that I've watched it several decades later, I'm blown away that it wasn't just some gory movie about a shark but also about a little New England Island Community that was led by an unscrupulous Mayor who put money above the safety of his people/tourists. Dreyfuss and Shaw stole the show.

As blasphemous as it may sound, I would love to see Spielberg remake it. Could you imagine how scary it would be with a shark that really looks like a 25 foot great white? Been thinking about it since Deep Blue Sea came out and that was a fairly good movie, but after the crap fest that was The Shallows and the even worse 47 Meters Down, we need a good shark movie.

As long as Spielberg doesn't change the history of it by having them kill the shark with walkies-talkies, I'm down with a remake.

j/k. Spielberg is probably the only director, besides Howard, that could improve upon a classic.

Last movie I saw was upgrade. Not usually a fan of super hero type movies but this one seemed different and not based off any of these comic book movies that keep coming out. It was ok I shouldn't have paid 10 bucks to watch it.

Spielberg remaking Jaws would be pretty sweet, but who would replace the original cast? It would be awesome if one of the Kardashians was the shark's first meal. They can kill a shark, cut it open,, pull out another Sportsman's Paradise license plate along with many implants. Oh, let's feed him Pee Wee Herman! Sure the taint of those two would kill a normal shark, but not Bruce! YAS! Where's Chum Chase... I mean Chevy Chase? More Kardashians!!!!!
I guess I need to take my remake to the celebrities I don't like thread.

I agree with 90% of what you posted but don't you mess with Pee Wee. Dude is/was a hilarious, talented saint and, despite ONE self-serving incident in an adult movie theatre, has been one of the few 80's Icons to not be caught up/mentioned in any "Me too" controversies.

If Paul Reubens is a despicable for that one incident, then you don't want to know about me.

The guy is a sicko. You have no problem with his alleged child porn?

You want a true icon who stayed out of trouble? Look no further than Pauly Shore

Agree but I don't know if they could persuade him to remake it since it was a nightmare to make and he almost quit it. The Shallows might as well have had the shark from Nemo in it if they can't do CGI better than that.

If he did remake it, I wonder if he would include the part from the novel where Hooper had an affair with the Chief's wife? Not all of then sharks swim in the ocean.

As many improvements as I would like to see in the original, it was amazingly effective at getting movie goers to lift their feet off the floor, those not stuck to it, every time that fantastic piece of the brilliant score played. We were all like Pavlov's dogs and after the first attack, my wife's feet didn't touch the floor the entire time. If she'd had to go to the bathroom, she would have had to levitate there.

Surprisingly, I have never stop to watch The Seventh Seal--even though I am a Max Von Sydow fan. In contrast, I have seen a movie with a similar title, The Seventh Sign, multiple times, although their respective plots are different.

Do not know why I occasionally revisit The Seventh Sign. It is only a fair movie (I give it only 5 out of 10 stars) and seeing Jurgen Prochnow play Jesus amuses the heck out of me every time. Probably has to do with Demi Moore, whose voice I have always liked. meh. /mini-rant

Thoroughbreds.

I thought it was going to be pretty lame, pleasantly surprised. Not sure how the previews/ratings describe it, but it's a pretty dark movie. I liked it.

If Kim was the skinny dipper at the beginning, okay.

I saw Shore in a Hooters a couple of years ago, here in CT. He was looking really bad, and tried to get one of the girls to move to California with him.
She had no idea who he was, but he bullied her into giving him her phone number. He tried calling her several times, but she never answered.

Saw Only the Brave and while it was an OK movie, I do not recommend it if you are looking for a happy ending. Funked me out for the rest of the night.

The problem with a remake is that you can't replace Shaw as Quint imo
