Saw "Crawl" at the movie theatre(Really not much out there unless you are 12 years old right now).

I give it a D-. Just bored to death by the movie. Kind of like that movie where you say inside to yourself "When does this movie end"?...

I have to say "THIS SUMMER FOR MOVIES HAS SUCKED"!!!!!! Does everything have to be geared to kids? I am burned out of Comic book movies also. It is like beating a dead horse now.

My only hope was a couple of the trailors for future movies.

It's not a movie but a limited series on Netflix but "When They See Us" is one of the best series I've seen in some time. It's disturbing because it's based on a true story and I found myself bouncing from mad to sad constantly.

The handheld camera and confusion at first can be a little disconcerting but it sets the tone for just how easy it was to coerce confessions out of innocent boys. It was really well acted.

That's what she's been trying to spin in order not to be liable but evidently some cops came forth that were part of that squad. They were not innocent kids but innocent of the crime she framed them for to further her career.

One of the "sources" that came forward said that she's depicted a lot better in the special than she really is. She's not a crusader for justice, just using the system to gain. The cops were following orders even though they told her the crime did not take place where she had it mapped out. There were doubts from the beginning and they were as culpable as she was for not speaking up and out then.

They should charge her and let the court decide because the placement of the crime and the boys arrested never made since and that was a fact that didn't make it to the DA or he might have intervened instead of letting her run roughshod over the investigation.

The most interesting part of this are the reactions I've heard like if they hadn't been part of that "wilding" they never would have been charged but my biggest question about this is why in the hell was a white woman running through a park in Harlem past 9pm? Talk about stupid.

I saw this the other day, I thought it was pretty good

Watched this again last night and even liked it better. I like Butler in about everything he's in but I think my favorite was "Law Abiding Citizen".

Victim blaming is not a good look.
When one serves themselves up out of total ignorance of the risk, I've got no problem with that. It's like "don't open that cellar door, no, don't go down there, that was a noise and noises are better left alone".

When I lived in PA, they had these disappearances and kidnappings along the Appalachian Trial yet people who were aware of that went hiking there anyway. I don't think they "deserved" anything but there are people that I have a lot more compassion for that are not walking into danger willingly.

And when that event took place, there were a lot of people asking that question and if you saw the series, the rapes were tracking at an all time high in the 5 Burroughs which was one of the reasons she was under pressure to get someone nailed and a very good reason for the victim to stay the hell out of that park alone after dark.

My favorite by far in the summer movies was
"John wick 3" especially the horse kicking scene. Every wick film the producers are always thinking of a new idea, new element to place into a new Wick film.

I may be one in the minority that was actually disappointed with Avengers endgame

I was also disappointed in Godzilla king of the monsters and X-Men dark Phoenix

I'd swung by the "Bookman's" used books, flicks& various other stuff,a couple days ago & walked out with an Elvira's "Haunted Hills" flick, well worth a single viewing.
A "Buckaroo Banzai in the 8th dimension",,,I found it was of high strangeness& a bit hard to maintain proper focus in order to follow.( there's a megaton of long since forgotten ,but once pretty prominent faces in that flick)
,,,AND " ANCHORMAN 2"
*that Steve Carral/Brick Tamberland absolutely slays me,,,:lmao:

I'm still on the continued hunt for a copy of "Mars Attacks" & "Pulp Fiction"

*I'd once passed up on a copy of "pulp" several years ago, when I saw they wanted $13 for it,,,And I still would pass on it tomorrow at that priceo_O

My advice is the same for anyone else telling me they have comic book movie burnout.

Make sure your medical insurance covers critical illness because you will soon be lingering near death if you are sick of them now, Disney and Marvel alone have a BUTTLOAD of comic book movies slated for premiere or in the conception tube during the next decade. And who knows what competing movie studio companies will be releasing trying to keep up with the Joneses?

Beating a dead horse? Singular? There are a whole LOT more to make paste out of. And they are coming. Hi ho Silver away! :muttley:

Brightburn: 6.5/10

Pretty good concept, could have done more with it, though.

Shazamm 5.5/10

Meh. Wasn't impressed.

Perfection on Netflix (9/10) This was a twisted horror movie with a great twist I didn't see coming. Best horror movie I've seen in awhile.
Apollo 18 on Netflix (6/10)
Decent horror movie about going to the dark side of the moon where they find an unknown cosmonaut who died years earlier.
Witch (5/10)
A way too slowly paced horror movie someone told me was good but blew.

Watching Mother! right now on free Epix preview. This might be the worst move I have ever seen.

I literally cannot believe how bad this thing is.
That movie was awesome.

The Witch is more of a thriller than horror. I thought it was really well done and authentic.

All of your takes have been rendered useless for me after this opinion.

It tried too hard to me, I get that there are genres I may not like, but this film was super pretentious. I also never believed they were in love with each other. Her acting was off too. She didn't convince me at all she was have real reactions to the trauma and stress her character was experiencing. I don't even think she was happy with her performance.

I think it was way over the top to prove a point.
