Rate the last movie you saw

In my opinion (and it is necessary for me to especially state that within this discussion ), Zendaya has a pretty face, which is downplayed somewhat in her Michelle Jones role, moreso in Spider-Man: Homecoming (i.e. messy hairdo, etc.) than Spider-Man: Far From Home, because she plays a teenaged loner with a crush on a superhero. For me, her acting makes her character's attitude appealing and attractive to a degree.

However, it is true her physique is nowhere near on par with an Abigail Ratchford. Zendaya belongs in that group of celebrities where opinions of beauty or handsome physical and/or emotional qualities are markedly divided. She is neither a Jessica Alba nor a plain jane. She is Zendaya. And she is pretty darn cute. Again, just my opinion.

Finally got around to watching Super Troopers 2, decent but not near as good as the original. Oh, Lynda Carter is still hot!

Brightburn had buttloads of potential that production, directing, writing and acting did not fulfill. I was looking forward to seeing Elizabeth Banks play the mother. Banks is not an A-lister but she is a better actress than what is seen in the movie.

Even camera work seemed listless at times. Set work/scenery made me think the movie was often set somewhere in some remote part of Canada instead of Kansas.

I did not find his performance as awe-inspiring but the young actor playing the super powered kid could have easily fit into any Criminal Minds episode as an unsub. The moral of the movie? Everyone is not cut out to be Ma and Pa Kent.

What was shown 'correctly' was the degree of violence a Kryptonian type being could inflect on normal humans. That type of imagery was not even seen in Man of Steel, the most conceptual depiction to date of what Kryptonian-level power can do to ordinary folks.

MoS focused on macro level violence and glossed over the micro-scale imagery--the latter, for example, seen during the Smallville street fight between Commander Faora-Ul and the soldiers. Brightburn went way beyond keeping things clean on screen for some of the audience.

Vivid imagery was limited to only a handful of victims though. In my opinion, Brightburn's quality would not have improved any if super kid had <expletive> up dozens or more people. The movie was simply not created well.

Wife went to bed early, so I was bored and rented Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Wow, it is going in the same direction as the alien franchise......not good.

I would expect monsters to look better in todays CGi but Godzilla is becoming a joke. The screen was even darker than the last movie and could barely make out the creatures. I love Godzilla movies but this one was bad, not sure even worth the $5.99

I watched it Friday night and the dialogue actually pulled me away from the average CGI and they had some good actors, who were probably rolling in the floor when they read the script.

However, I am the most critically forgiving for movies of this genre because I approach them as I did as a kid, monster movies were my absolute favorite and I try to shift into kid mode when watching them. Some say with my maturity level, it's a seamless shift.

Ready or Not - It wasn't great, but it was pretty fun.

Angel has Fallen - Meh. Okay, I guess. Terrible FX though.

Good Boys - A few good laughs, but a lot more misses. Kids are annoying.

The Farewell - Critically overrated. Not bad, but nothing special either. Not as funny as many have said. A pretty standard family drama that is rooted in Chinese culture.

Blinded by the Light - Decent, but a little too cheesy and quasi-musical for my tastes.
