I remember being so letdown with that Wolfman movie. The visuals were good but the movie itself. Meh
Maybe i need to give it another try.
I usually don't watch these types of movies, but when I seen the great Anthony Hopkins was is in it, I couldn't refuse.

I liked Prey. They could have made this movie without being part of the predator franchise imo. Just changed into some evil demon from Indian lore.
The idea that the girl is the main character/hero does not bother me like it does some. If it is done well I am OK with it, if it sucks it sucks. This one did a good job of it as she grew as the story went on.

Ok. Now this one was very slow. But, the last 8 minutes were unreal. WOW! Great performances by the actors. Rising FBI investigators Ray (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and Jess (Julia Roberts), along with Claire (Nicole Kidman), their district-attorney supervisor, are suddenly torn apart following the brutal murder of Jess' teenage daughter.

Thirteen years later, after obsessively searching for the elusive killer, Ray uncovers a new lead that he is certain can permanently resolve the case and bring long-desired closure to the team. But no one is prepared for the shocking and unspeakable secret that follows.

I watched "Prey", I liked it. I liked the premise, going back in time, the story was alright, some of the CGI was a little iffy, but the Predator looked pretty cool. I thought Amber Midthunder did a great job, I can see her doing more action flicks. I read she auditioned for the role in both English and in Comanche, kinda cool, keeping it authentic. 7/10

After watching a short fan made Predator film on YouTube a few years back set in the Dark Ages, I have been hoping someone would do a period Predator movie. I think this opens the door for a Predator vs Samurai, or Knights Templar, Roman Legions, Mongols, Spartans ..... plenty of cool history to choose from. Maybe a Predator as protagonist, an injured and limited tech Pred is the hunted and not the hunter. Maybe an origin story where Preds were not always aggressive, they originally came as only observers, but a crash landing and the "predator" crew is killed by ancient humans which lead to the Predators we know today.

I, too, watched Prey and I also really liked it.

I was kind of hoping Arnold was going to make a quick appearance by popping out of the woods and saying "You're one ugly............."

It was not as good as the first, but none of them have been. I liked that the predator took a beating each fight, from animal to humans, and then he was taken down in a rambo style trap. I also liked where it was filmed; it was a nice looking movie

I re-watched "The Thing" (1982), I watched it when it was released in theaters and liked it and like a bit more each time I watch it. It got raked over the coals by critics at the time, which I couldn't understand. It starts off as a mystery, then some some sci-fi, then some horror, then after the seeds have been sewn a thriller, that paranoia...... The practical effects still hold up very well by today's standards. The "spider" is still one of my favorite creature creations of all time and Palmer's reaction is perfect.o_O

I've seen the movie many times, I know how the movie ends, but still can't be sure how the story ends. That's one of the best things about the movie, looking for those clues or hints along the way. There's no overt humor, but there's a few lines that crack me up, the situation and timing are perfect. The score by Ennio Morricone sets the mood perfectly. 10/10

It's the 40th anniversary of it's release which kinda prompted me to re-watch it. It's amazing how many great movies were released that year Bladerunner, Star Trek 2 Wrath of Khan, Poltergist, ET, Fast Times, First Blood, Conan The Barbarian, Gandhi, 48 Hrs., Pink Floyd The Wall.........

Spoiler for a 40 year old movie? For those few that haven't watched it. Over the years, I've flip flopped about the ending, are both infected, neither, only one of them, but which one? I think I leans towards Childs, but seems obvious and there are questions about Mac. So basically I still don't know. Nauls line "Maybe we're at war with Norway" still cracks me up.

Thing is one of my favorite movies of all time, only after BTiLC. I’ve seen it dozens of times, and I’ve always liked the idea that they’re both heroes of the story, healthy…. But inevitably die right where they’re sitting

At the end, when they are the only two left... Watch both of their breaths when they talk... One has the steam coming out when talking, the other does not. The one that does not is.... THE THING

Performed so SO well by the late Donald Moffat.

Very suspicious, no doubt and always led to me believing Childs was always infected, but seems too easy, like there's more to it. I never fully trusted Mac at the end, something always seemed a little off, maybe it's my own paranoia, but something wasn't quite right. The way he looks at Childs when he passes the whiskey bottle and the subtle little smirk he gives when Childs drinks from it. Kinda like, wait....what was that.....was that a look......was that something.....that kinda seemed like something? Sure, I may be reading more into it or simply misreading those cues as they could be interpreted differently, but......... all I will say is follow the whiskey bottle from the beginning of the movie.

At this point, I can't be 100% sure that I'm not The Thing. o_O
