Apparently, you don't drive in the city much. Laws cease to exist when the traffic lights go down...and when it snows...and whenever the people on the road are more important than all the other people on the road...
Actually I worked in NYC for many years, and drove to the office most of them. I was there for the big blackout in 2003 or 2004. It was chaotic to say the least, especially when they shut the bridges and tunnels down, but people weren't driving full throttle through intersections and there weren't any collisions with cars flying through the air and exploding on impact.

I really like Billy Chrystal. He's one of those comedians who make you rather smile than laugh. Can't think of a movie with him that's really bad. Watched City Slickers a couple of days ago and it's just a good "Tuesday night movie" as I call it. Not Saturday night material but not a waste of time either. He would have perfectly fit in with the (original) Ghostbusters cast, that kind of humour.

But he can also nail it. Analyze this is one of the best comedies ever by the way. This one had me in tears in the cinema.
Funny enough, I revisited both City Slicker I & II just a few months ago. Just classic movies. They have that perfect 90s vibe comedy.

I watched "Company of Heroes" on Netflix last night. I didn't realize it was based on a video game until the end of the movie when it showed up in the credits. That kind of explained the choppiness of the story, the far-fetched story line, and even how the characters were introduced. It felt like a video game storyline. Historical accuracy was compromised a bit too. But it was somewhat entertaining.

5/10, maybe a 6.

2023's best superhero genre film. Second place does not come close. And I confidentially say that even having not seen Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom yet, lol.

HBO Binge weekend.. Sometimes fun just to see what it will throw at you on a lazy weekend.

Ted 2… 7/10, never saw Ted 1 but didn’t need the background. Funny movie! Definitely has that Seth McFarlane Family Guy feel.

The Day After Tomorrow…. 6/10, watchable disaster movie. Just good enough to keep you watching. Love the Americans storming the Rio Grande scene.

Bad Company.… 6/10, same as above, just enoughnto make it watchable. Another Bruckheimer Rock/ConAir attempt, but not as good. One of the few movies you’ll ever see with Sir Anthony Hopkins and Chris Rock as the lead.

Get Hard… 7/10, Will Ferrell still one of the funniest guys alive and great role for Kevin Hart.

I just had the misfortune of watching The Marvels.

It’s sad to see just how far the MCU has fallen.

I have no idea how this thing got made.

It was one terrible idea after another. Every decision they made was a mistake.

This movie deserves every bit of grief that it’s received. This movie deserves to be a box office bomb. This movie deserves to be the lowest grossing film in MCU history.

And even worse, the directions that they look to be going in based on events introduced here make it look like things aren’t improving any time soon.

This thing gets a 1 out of 10 from me and a vow to never watch this train wreck again.

Just watched The Marvels.

Gotta be honest, I don't see why some people hated it so much. It leaves room for improvement; I could have done without the singing, and there were physics laws that were broken in cartoon style, and of course, the female empowerment agenda was there (but not man bashing at all) but I don't think it was all that bad a movie. They probably should have made it a series instead.

I am curious what happened to the other bangle in the rest of the scenes that followed Kamala's getting them both.

My wife and I saw Poor Things yesterday afternoon. Honestly, I still don't know what to make of it.

Imagine Frankenstein meets a French film noir with a touch of porn. The costums are incredible, and the movie sets are sort of a Pythonesque look.

The movie has received numerous awards and academy nominations.

It's just different. 5/10

Agreed. I enjoyed it myself. I thought it was a fun movie I'd probably watch again.

Hadn't heard of it. Just looked up the trailer. Looks different indeed, but does kind of intrigue some interest from me. Movies have been a whole lot of 'meh' for me lately, so something way out in left field could be fun at this point.

Although cheesy at times and silly...I still liked it a good deal more than the Captain Marvel movie.

Watched both spider man into the multiverse and across 5+ times due to my kids.

Would like to change my score to a 9.5.

This is what Disney/marvel needs to find (again) in their movies.

Good mix of action, sadness, character growth, obstacles, humor etc.

I know Sony had a role in it, but these movies blow away anything from endgame on. To me, not even close.

The girl with the Dragon Tattoo

I like both versions. The original and the English remake with Daniel Craig.

Both have a couple brutal scenes in it.

I think the English version would appeal to more people because they do not have to worry about closed captions.

However the original is part of a trilogy and they never made those movies in english.

They did make another english movie that had some of the same characters in it but I do not think they made one in the original foreign/// It is not as good. It has some cool things in it but is better served as a stand alone movie as it does not blend as well with the other movies IMO

Noomi Rapace was phenomenal in the Swedish versions and the perfect Lisbeth Salander.

Watched Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and Shang-Chi on FX the other night. Hadn’t seen either in a while and still hold up. They would probably be in better shape if they could have kept new movies veered that direction, especially some of these lesser known characters who have to produce great movies to start up franchises.

I finally watched "The Marvels", it was OK, kinda average, but really just forgettable in the end. These superheroes just feel kinda generic, flashy and overpowered, but really don't feel much depth or substance to the characters. I do like the energy that Iman Vellani brings, but the movie itself just falls kinda flat. Feels like Disney is really trying, but just can't get it right, like they have a list of bullet points they want to include, but it ends up feeling like connect the dots. 5/10

The MCU is reminding me of the Dallas Cowboys, a huge moneymaker, but always so much hype and doesn't live up to expectations. They want to make great movies, but can't seem to get it right and just living on their past glories.
